Nice selection of dishes on menu, reasonable prices, good wine selection and pleasant attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Still dropping by for food, another good visit this morning as usual, the only thing I will bring up is that the location is card payment only now so might not be suitable for those without electronic payment facilities. Food 10/10 Staff and service 10/10 Hygiene 10/10 Drinks selection behind the bar 8/10 Another visit today,one of many , and as always the service and the quality of the food and drink are 10/10 impeccable, a great place to dine out day or night, thoroughly recommend, the staff are second to none . 10/10 A+ Spotlessly clean, impeccable service from very well presented and well mannered bar and waiting staff, a friendly yet laid back quiet space in Glasgow City centre adjacent to Buchanan Bus station. Good menu and good selection of drinks, they evidently have a very good chef in house. Highly recommended any time morning, noon or night for great food and a nice atmosphere, have been several times and will return. It’s an ok place with decent staff, if somewhat lacking in atmosphere. They don’t sell any Scottish beer or lager though - as a matter of policy. Just another foreign multiple. They won’t get my custom again.

Lovely Christmas menu with hot food and hot plates. A real difficulty is selection from a number of tempting sounding dishes. Mist have a twist on the ordinary which makes a repeat visit a near necessity before the festive season ends.

Amazingly friendly staff, very tasty food, and quick service. Fairly limited menu, but everything we had was quite tasty. Prices were a bit high, but we received a discount as hotel guests. Worth a stop if you're staying at the connected Holiday Inn.

Used to be top tier. One of the best places for wine in town. Now they offer wines comparable to a weatherspoons and their experianced staff think an irish coffee is a mug of black coffee and a shot of whisky

The food could have been warmer. The chicken schnitzel was overcooked, to brown and disguised by cheese. The fries were good and hot.

Food was delicious and service was great.

The food was awesome as we ate there for 5 nights in a row. The Soup of the day, Haggis croquettes, Sunday roast, Braised beef, Chicken schnitzel, Beer battered haddock, LBA beef burger and their warm sticky toffee pudding was to die for. The negative about this place is that if you get there around 8pm then the staff tell you that they are expecting a large party and then try to deter you from eating there or tell you point blank that they cannot accommodate you even though the restaurant is mostly empty. We were staying at their hotel, so they had no choice but to give us a table, but this occurred every night with different staff. And every night, we noticed that their large party never materialized so I assume they do it on purpose so that they can clean up and go home early rather than have to deal with customer past 8pm.

I've visited La Bonne Auberge several times over the past year (so consider that things might have changed since then), dining at lunch, dinner, and in the afternoon. At lunch time, the sirloin steak and pasta dishes I tried were delicious and some of the best I've tried in Glasgow. Conveniently located near the bus station, it made for a tasty pitstop. During my evening visit, the cocktails and food were enjoyable but our main waiter had such a poor attitude, and we felt overlooked by other staff. However, the cuisine was still high quality. Unfortunately, my afternoon experience fell short. The restaurant was noisy and crowded with hotel guests, and we were seated but ignored for 15 minutes by the busy staff until we decided to leave. The dining room also seemed incredibly dirty and unkempt, with pastry crumbs everywhere. So it's been a mixed bag. At its best, La Bonne Auberge provides top-notch dishes and drinks in a convenient location. But inconsistent service and cleanliness make it unreliable.

Arrived at 5.40 pm for pre theatre dinner. Starters arrived after a bit of a wait but at 7 pm we had to ask if mains would be long. Had to rush food and run to the theatre. It wasn't even busy at the time. When looking around it appeared that no one had any food. Pre theatre means we are going to the theatre! Food was mediocre.

Mixed bag here really as we had both dinner and breakfast. Dinner service was very slow, despite there seeming to be enough staff on, but the food itself was great. Breakfast the following morning, however, was excellent with a good selection of hot and cold and staff going out their way to ensure everyone was happy. And, despite the slow dinner service, we would still recommend it.

Ce fût vraiment une très bonne découverte c'est le restaurant de l'Hôtel Holliday Inn. Attention contrairement à son nom il ne sert pas de plats Français mais la maitrise à la française est là. Les plats sont anglais mais par contre ils sont excellents et ce fût vraiment une très bonne surprise . Cela nous a réconcilié avec la nourriture anglaise qui peut être très bonne quand le chef maitrise sont sujet même la pâtisserie était excellente (tarte et pudding). Produits frais et de qualité. Du coup on y retourné 2 fois de suite. La carte est limitée mais cela est plutôt bien du coup puisque on n'est pas déçût et ils sont vraiment préparer à la demande (d'où le délais d'attente en conséquence). De même contrairement à certains restaurants dans la ville le rapport qualité prix y est excellent tous les plats de résistance sont à £18. Merci à l'équipe

Lovely afternoon tea. Generous portions and plenty of choices. The service was friendly and efficient, and I would definitely go back.

I recently visited this restaurant that left me extremely disappointed with the poor customer service received. Once seated the service only got worse as it took incredibly long for my order to be taken, and even longer for my food to arrive. I even had to go up and ask for the bill myself as the waiters/waitresses were hiding at the bar area and also bring my bill to pay at the counter. For the price of the food quality and the level of poor service I would likely not be back again.

Generally a nice place with nice food and I would go back due to reasonable price and convenience of location. Lost a star because we ordered three items between food and drinks from the menu that they did not have in stock.

Not great choice on menu and expensive

This used to be a very good place and one I'd highly recommended previously. However, I was there this week with a friend and the menu was nothing like the one from previous occasions, it didn't have anything French about it. It's now a very generic menu, which I'm guessing is to cater to the hotel guests. I had the braised beef and panna cotta, the beef & mash being quite bland. If they went back to the French menu again I'd be tempted to return but as it is, it's really not worth it with the current menu.

Excellent service and food was fantastic

Absolutely AMAZING food, could not even fault it. Cocktails... Well they could have been done better, but you work with what you got. Service lovely. But the food and style were just astounding. Well done to the chefs. Cause the food was bloody fab.

Excellent quality food, ambient atmosphere, bit on the pricey side but saves waiting for half an hour in a queue for a pasty at Greggs as it was much less busy! Lovely wee place alot of people miss

The food was lovely but the portion size for my main course, fish, was rather small and didn't fill me, so I was glad I could have biscuits and cheese to follow. My husband and mother's portion sizes were fine so I was just unlucky. The waitress was lovely and very helpful. We were seated in the conservatory area and we all felt rather chilly. This needs to be better heated for the comfort of diners. I do like the restaurant, food is delicious, service good, lovely decor so if the conservatory could be warmer it would get more stars from me.

Came here at Christmas, and the food was just amazing, so we came back again, and it was still amazing, they do a great veggi range but I had the braised steak and it was the best thing I had tasted in ages, the staff are attentive friendly and the prices aren't overly expensive either, im sure we will be going back again soon

3 of us had an excellent, leisurely evening. Quiet (no music). excellent waiting staff, no 'hovering' but there when needed. Restricted menu but we had duck, steak and beef stew. Fish and vegetarian also available. Enjoyable starters and puddings or cheese. Fixed price just under £30pp for 3 courses - drinks the equivalent of a 4th person. Thank you for the good food, beautifully presented.

We had a voucher for 6 small plates and a bottle of wine. I had requested a booth if available which was granted. Thank you. Our lovely waiter, sorry I don't have a name, (young with a beard finishing at 4 on Sunday) brought us water for the table and took our wine order. After bringing and pouring our wine he took our food order for small plates. The food arrived after a short while and it was delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh and very tasty. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will return to try the main menu soon. Again another mention for our waiter who was friendly and professional. Little things like asking if we wanted to taste the wine and remembering to bring mayonnaise when requested even although he was dealing with other tables. Thank you!

We bought itison vouchers for afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. Love an afternoon tea and been to many however this was one of THE best I’ve tasted. Scones were still warm inside. We ended up staying there for the rest of the day and evening with Prosecco x 3 🍾🍾🍾 ! Will be back again in future! 👏

What has happened to this place. Been many times before and always had great food and service but went in recently and it was dreadful, poor quality and poor service, no atmosphere, just awful. Will not be back

Ill start with the best thing ... the Christmas wreath decorations were lovely and the staff were pleasant enough but required further training. The restaurant was cold and the food terrible. I returned a Burrata as it was most definitely off and tasted fizzy. This in my opinion is the ultimate no no for any restaurant. No apology or explanation given. by the waiter The rest of the food was bland and poor quality.. Wouldn't recommend La Bonne Auberge, Glasgow has a wealth of quality restaurants to choose from.

First time back to what was a regular breakfast/dinner and bar for pre covid times. The bar area is now sparse and like a waiting room with full lights on and one selection of on tap beers which were a poor choice. No cider on rap and removed st mango’s glasgows brew. Service from staff was pleasant but they were short staffed - can’t blame them as it’s across the hospitality industry now. Food was average but we missed the start of the concert as service was slow. If you are going to a concert suggest you book 30 mins earlier than normal. I truly hope it gets back to good standard levels pre covid.

We had a delicious Pre Theatre meal at la Bon Auberge. Staff were very friendly, helpful, efficient, cheery and worked non stop as the restaurant was full.

We used to go a lot before covid and decided to visit What a disappointment The service was poor The senior waiter needs to dress professionally not with jeans on Food was under average in fact I have cooked better myself The senior winter when we said to him that it is being refurbished in 2023 thus might be true but will not make the food better The menu was very small and for a restaurant the wine list was poor only 4 white wines to choose from no Chardonnay There are so many restaurants now in Glasgow it needs to up its game I feel sorry for people who stay in the hotel if they think that this is Glasgow restaurant food

Genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Glasgow in recent years. Menu was different from the website, limited menu access not advised on the website, food had run out, mains arrived cold, food was so late we didn’t have time for dessert. When we eventually spoke to the manager he was smug and insolent and behaved like he was doing us a favour not charging for a coffee and a tiny bowl of ice cream. To say we’ll never be back is an understatement.

I can honestly say this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I've ever had. At one stage I was waiting on Basil Fawlty making an appearance. We arrived just before 12pm and there were 4 staff standing about. We should have left then when they would do anything but come near us. There was also no other tables in at this stage. After we sat down we looked around and the place was disgusting. Tables covered in breakfast dishes and the floor hadn't been touched. Again the staff remained behind the counter. We got up and asked if we could order drinks. 10 minutes later we again had to ask if we could order. The menu actually read well with herb foccacia with brie and poached pear so we ordered a croque mosuier, brioche French toast and a herb focaccia along with a snack of honeyed chipolatas. The waitress came out to say they had no herb focaccia so would a baguette do and no brie so would cheddar do? We changed our mind and ordered another crouqe. We then got served 3 ham and cheese toasties on stale bread! We're still waiting on the chiplolatas. Seriously avoid this place. Given the trials that hospitality has at the minute I completely understand that people are making cut backs but no excuses for the sheer volume of mistakes here.

Always thought this was an OK place to wait for a friend or transport. Not any more. Tonight I was there, ordered a drink, found a space to sit - very few people around - went to the toilet, came back to my seat and my scarf was missing. I went to the reception desk to ask if they knew what had happened - nothing. It was an expensive scarf so I persisted. Next thing I knew I was being threatened with the police!!!! Bring it on I said. Sat down waiting to be arrested for… being a stroppy woman I guess. What do you know… suddenly my scarf is found. Left at the bar they said. Right. I would take off hat, gloves coat but leave a scarf at the bar while I ordered. Fine. Happy to have it back… but ordered out of the place, because… Hope they’ve got the CCTV because I think I’ve got the audio.

A traditional set up here. Pleasant helpful staff. My friend was delayed but there was no pressure or awkwardness. Moroccan spiced salmon was good and flavoursome as was the house French Onion soup. Music not intrusive and of the place and time: French cafe chanson tunes, Charles Trenet etc. *** A second visit 10 months later was less happy. There was no wine list or cocktails and my steak, though probably cooked as well as possible, wasn't very well-sourced. Staff, as ever, very friendly and helpful.

What a night myself and my husband had for our Golden Wedding thanks to chef Jamie Mac and William for arranging a beautiful and fabulous 6 course tasting menu for us, which actually turned in to 7 courses, from the start we were made to feel so special from sitting down with champagne waiting for us on the table to leaving, The food was delicious as always and all the staff could not have done anymore for us it was an amazing night and ended with lovely card signed by the staff, Thank you all

There in group event, main meal Chicken was way over cooked/ Vegetables where just vile/ not even presented. Offered some thing from Menu, how ever very poor choice. If like myself do not like Pork, then you cannot have another option. Prices charge is OTT. Certainly not impressed.
