Lovely little cafe, with friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of food. It was a perfect place to meet friends from Rome and the Netherlands. Our group ordered a wide variety of choices from the menu including the soup, Scottish breakfast, scrambled eggs and salmon, smoothies, waffles, carrot cake and tea - all delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the owl cushions very comfy. You could miss it walking by, but well worth searching it out and popping in. It extends a way back - a bit of a tardis for seating.

High quality food in a great environment with good prices. Really appreciate the service, ending with a wonderful detail. They took our coats when entering into the bar and return them really warm, appreciate it specially with the cold Edinburgh's weather. 5/5

Very sad to give one star as previous experience has been exceptional. In December we booked a large table for our antenatal group and had a marvellous time, the staff were so accommodating with pram space and the babies in general. Yesterday we booked again, the difference was the owner was in. She was so incredibly rude and a hostile towards us when a baby would make a sound. This caused an awful tension which set all the babies off and the most placid babies become unsettled. She actually came up to us and told us that we were stressing her out and the babies were giving her a splitting headache. Keep in mind that the only other people in were three lads having pints so you would think she would have welcomed the business at 1pm on a Monday. It is such a shame we were treated like this as none of us will ever return (with or without babies). She told us she has three children of her own so you would think she would be more understanding to new mums.

Fantastic food, clear some time and come hungry. Food was a cut above , staff vigilant and friendly, and dessert worth leaving space for even the coffee is a rich roast to savour. Do try Bao buns and The Steak.

Laila is a charming brunch spot in Edinburgh that’s as delightful to look at as it is to dine in. The decor is stunning, with vibrant flowers and pink accents creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The coffee was exquisite, and the plates were beautifully presented and full of flavor. A perfect place for a relaxed and Instagram-worthy brunch!

Excellent location and very well presented. Staff were great. We were placed at a table at the window with lovely view of Edinburgh. Unfortunately the room was so cold it ruined the whole experience. There also seemed to be a discrepancy between the menu we got and the one on the web site e.g. Butternut squash risotto

Cocina turca media. Porciones tan generosas como otros restaurantes turcos que di. La carne era un poco maloliente y muy poco en el plato. Los precios son más altos de lo habitual, especialmente para porciones tan pequeñas. Personal muy educado y atento. Es nosotros en una esquina de un cruce de tráfico y se puede llegar allí solo a pie. La cerveza Efes se sirve en botella original como la suya en Turquía. Pequeño local y no muy decorativo y presentable.

Increíble noche para celebrar nuestro 25 aniversario de boda! La comida era increíble y el personal era atento, educado y conocedor tanto de la comida como de las bebidas para acompañar la comida. Gracias especiales a Nitin, Caitlin y Michael que nos cuidaron e hicieron nuestra celebración especial. También gracias a los chefs y el equipo detrás de escena!

I was visiting Edinburgh for my partners birthday and decided to go there for dinner. The food was so authentic, large portion and amazing presentation. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They heard that my partner was vegan and suggested more options (definitely recommended for vegans, is a must try). Made the birthday experience exceptional and couldn’t imagine better.
