The staff there are amazing - I go in at least 4 or 5 times a week and have been doing so for years and I have never had anything even approaching a bad experience. From the Manager Ryan all the way through the staff they are friendly, chatty and make a bloody good cuppa too

I took my 4year old granddaughter to hotel Chocolat in st. James quarter Edinburgh for a treat. However she dropped her cup of hot chocolate and the staff were so attentive and helpful. Cleaned up around her and gave her another hot chocolate. Full marks for helpfulness, attentiveness and kindness

My wife had a hot chocolate from a different store years ago and really enjoyed it. So thought we'd visit the store in Edinburgh while shopping. We arrived soon after they opened at 9am and had a look at their drink choices. My wife got the milk chocolate milkshake and I got the coffee milkshake (both made with their lovely ice cream) Both drinks were amazing. And both came with loads of their lovely chocolate cream on top (which tastes like a lovely chocolatey airy mousse) The service was really good, and they recommended we join their VIP club which was free but means you get 20% off any of their drinks (plus a £5 off voucher on your birthday) Once we finished our drinks were had a quick look round the store and managed to pick up some of their 6 packs of chocolates with 70% off as they had a great before date of end of August, so got some great bargains too! Highly recommend their hot or cold drinks that have their chocolate or ice cream in. Same prices but sooooo much better than the will known coffee shop next door!
