I love a Wee Taste - the presentation is outstanding and the food is delicious, I loved it so much I ordered a takeaway platter to try and pass it off as my own creation at home but it looked so good all my friends knew it couldn't have been me!

Had a lovely afternoon in this cosy wee place when it was so miserable out. Mixed platter was lovely and very generous. Thank you for the extra chutney it was awesome. Will definitely be back with my friends.

A Wee Taste is such an Edinburgh gem! It was the perfect venue for my best friends Hen Party. Karly was amazing, so friendly and really easy to communicate with tailoring the flowers and drinks to fit the Hen theme. It’s such a lovely atmosphere and all the Hens adored the food and drinks - especially the rose spritz!! Hope to visit again soon for a tasting event. Thanks Karly for a special day!

Having never been aware of this little gem before, tonight was my second visit in less than a month - a group of 4 last time & 2 of us this time. The food is amazing - tastes fab & presentation is fantastic. Great wine & the most patient staff ever when you know they want to go home but you’re enjoying it so much you order one last glass. I’ll definitely be back again.

Last night this wee restaurant hosted our friends ‘special’ birthday party. It was so good. The boards were amazing the fizz was delicious too! Great choice of wines and lovely friendly staff.

I went for the wine tasting evening and I loved it! It's totally worth a visit. The girls are lovely and so knowledgeable. Vibe is cosy and relaxed. Food was amazing and of course the wine was too! I will definitely be back!

I happened to come across this wee gem of a restaurant while visiting Edinburgh. What a find! My dining experience was so positive, I have actually been back twice in the same week, it's honestly that good. From the moment you step through the door, the cheery vibe is apparent. The owner Karly, could not have been more welcoming and attentive. The menu offers up an amazing assortment of charcuterie, and so much more. The drinks and food offerings are all top quality, one would be hard pressed to find better. This is definitely a restaurant you don't want to miss.

We’ve been in A Wee Taste lots of times now and it never disappoints! Beautifully presented grazing boards with lovely local produce; the scotch eggs are to die for too. We love coming here as the service is always top notch with such friendly staff who always go out their way to make you feel comfortable. The mocktail tinto de verano is superb! A definite recommendation for anyone who is after some nice wine, cocktails and a grazing board. Great atmosphere; perfect for casual dining and catching up with friends.

Great quality food, great atmosphere & lovely staff. I visited a wee taste for my birthday with some family. The staff were lovely and friendly & took time to chat us through the menu/ options: The food was amazing, great grazing board with an amazing selection of meat, cheese & extras (nuts, fresh fruit, pickles and crackers). The sourdough was great! Drinks were a good price with great non alcoholic options for the designated drivers. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back.

What an experience! My friend and I had been walking for an hour, looking for “just the right spot.” We found it! We felt welcomed immediately by our lovely server, who was able to answer all of our questions about the wine list. The owner of Wee Taste took time to chat with us before retreating to the kitchen to put together a GORGEOUS and plentiful charcuterie board (see photo) that looked as good as it tasted… edible flowers and all. I would HIGHLY recommend for a first date, a quick, delicious bite, or a slow afternoon with an old friend.

Just perfect!!! Found this place after walking away from many tourist spots. This was literally exactly what we were looking for after an afternoon of walking and popping into shops. Spent the better part of 2 hours with an old friend laughing and enjoying each others company over the most beautiful plate of charcuterie I’ve ever seen. The proprietor was kind and welcoming, sharing her knowledge of wine and locally sourced meats and cheeses with us in her kind demeanor. The plate overflowed with delicious and exciting bites and the portions left my friend and I feeling well fed. I would recommend this charmingly adorable place to anyone looking to enjoy an afternoon or evening meal in Scotland’s city center.

Wow, where to start… Wine tasting experience was fabulous, thoroughly enjoyed and the wines on offer were delicious. £20 for 4 different wines and generous pours. We ordered a couple of grazing boards after the tastings, I would 10/10 recommend A Wee Taste - the staff, atmosphere and food all impeccable. There’s so much variety on the boards and I was impressed with the presentation (very Instagram worthy as you can probably tell from the photos). All in all super evening and every other table seemed to enjoy the experience as much as we did. Big thanks to Karly and team! Look forward to my next visit.

A Wee Taste is a fabulous local spot in Edinburgh! Their wines are wonderful, a varied selection which my friend and I tried a couple of. Love the wine glasses especially, very elegant. I also had a vegan platter to eat – it's really hard to find a good quality version of this anywhere, normally the cheeses and additional items are not very well thought out. But here, it was incredible!!!! Some gorgeous cashew cheeses, the truffled one was my favourite. As well as the smorgasbord of fresh fruit, nuts, dried fruits, sourdough bread, and pickled things (among plenty more) Perello olives were served on the platter as standard – an excellent touch. I was highly impressed with the quality of the food, as a vegan especially (and my friend loved his cheese and meats platter too). Service was impeccable, the staff are all very friendly and certainly know their stuff about the menu and the wines. The decor was very cute too :) We will be back soon. Thank you!

Visited as a walk in and I was greeted with a very warm welcome! Karly is lovely, accommodating and super friendly, kind and chatty, as are the rest of her wonderful small team. The boards look expert, fantastic, very colourful and I love the addition of edible flowers. All the olives, nuts, cheese, bread, beer etc. are of the highest quality and from local suppliers as much as possible. I very much enjoyed my Raspberry gin cocktail which was so lovingly made. I would strongly recommend A Wee Taste as the go to place in Edinburgh for Grazing Boards, you won't find any better. 5 stars experience, I will be returning!

Wow wow wow! The best wine and brunch in Edinbrugh. I recently held my birthday brunch at a Wee Taste and the whole experience from start to finish was second to none. With her expert knowledge Karly even helped me select which wines to serve in advance. The atmosphere, incredible wine and delicious food along with Karlys great team meant I had a birthday brunch I would never forget. If you love wine, stunning food and are considering a private function I couldn’t more highly recommend! My friends and I are now regulars having discovered this true Edinbrugh hidden secret.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Edinburgh’s most delightful cheese and wine bar.  From the moment I entered, the intimate atmosphere, warm smiles and genuine hospitality, set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The owner (Karly) and her team were genuinely knowledgeable about their extensive selection of local products included in their grazing boards, as well as their superb wine list, but also passionate about sharing their expertise. Their genuine enthusiasm made the entire evening even more enjoyable. The grazing board selection was beyond impressive, showcasing an array of locally sourced foods from independent, Scottish businesses.  The presentation was impeccable and I would recommend checking their Instagram photos to get a taste of what you are missing. I would thoroughly recommend this Edinburgh gem, it's the kind of place you want to visit again and again, just to try all they have to offer. Cheers to Karly and the team.

Food poison alert!!! We visited that place today. We paid £56 for plate for two and carafe of wine. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend that place at all as me and my partner got food poison from them. Also, the cheese board didn’t meet our expectations. The cheese and butter brand is good, the wine was decent, although the bread was dry and old, they put cheap quality nuts on the plate (walnuts, almonds and cashews), sulfate dried apricots (these shouldn’t be served at all with cheese), olives which were wrongly prepared. When I mentioned our concerns to the waitress she apologised, although she didn’t offer any replacement. Therefore, we eaten our cheese with old bread. Also, grapes were small, old and cheap (that can be observed by checking the grape stems, which in this case are dry and it was difficult to separate grapes from the stem). The place is some way is confusing as they have cheap products mixed with good brand products, but the same time the plates are from IKEA and in the toilet you will find the soap for £30 per bottle. Overall, the please is not worth of your money go to see another place (e.g., Nott). Moreover, we were forced to come back home earlier as 10-15 min after we left the place we felt sick, and that results in very much unpleasant afternoon call to NHS 24/7. They must give us something which wasn’t fresh or wrongly stored. Never again!

We got a couple of food boards from here. Communication was seamless. The boards themself were great. Excellent presentation and tasted nice. I am only giving a 4 star because of how expensive it was. I understand that the cost of living is high and the price for ingredients are through the roof at the moment but we thought that this was still pricey. £6 for a few slices of sourdough and a basket is not cheap. We’d like to come back and try their menu which looks good.

We've been to A Wee Taste various times over the last year and we love it! Great sharing platters, wine and cocktails and their products are super fresh and local too with excellent presentation. We love their music playlist; it's the perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening! The owner served us with her amazing back story. 5 stars!

Last month I held a fantastic birthday party here for some of my closest friends. It was the perfect balance of accomodating and intimate. The charcuterie and cheeses were all beautifully presented and my vegan friend catered for too. The wines are lovely and the whole atmosphere was so chilled. My friends keep saying what a great time they had. I found it all super easy to organise with Karly who seems to take everything in her stride. Highly recommended.

We had read the reviews for this local (for us) restaurant. They promised something different, and of good quality. And “A wee taste” certainly delivered. We booked an early evening table and were warmly greeted by very attentive and pleasant staff. We ordered the cheese and meat platter for 2/3 people. with a bottle of wine. There were three of us! When the platter initially arrived we thought we might have to order more, but not a bit of it. It looked deceptively meagre, but was surprisingly filling and just packed with delicious goodies. The wine was at the lower end of the price spectrum, but also excellent. The quantity of the food was just right and the quality exceeded expectations. Cheese very good, meat excellent and the bits and pieces accompanying them was superlative. Two minor niggles. We arrived early evening, so the room temperature had not quite warmed up sufficiently, but to say we were cold would be an exaggeration. Also the coffee cups for the espresso had not been warmed up, although the flat white was fine. We only offer these two minor items as constructive criticism as we do hope this local restaurant thrives. It offers a very different, but excellent product. We loved it and shall certainly be returning.

We had a great evening slot on a Saturday night when the small cosy venue was fully booked with a very eclectic crowd - ranging from glam Generation Z friends eating what looked like the vegan options to older couples and groups greedily tucking into the cheese and meat sharing platters. All beautifully presented and showcasing Scottish produce. Good choice of wine also. We liked the simplicity of it all and enjoyed talking to the friendly and BRAVE owner who set this up less than a year ago after quitting teaching and as a natural extension of first running food tours across the city. We wish her really well!!

What a great night I had at this lovely wine and grazing board bar. Very reasonable prices, great staff who are knowledgeable and amazingly cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend this wee hidden gem to anyone up for something a bit different!

We visited the place on a Saturday. We were the first clients. The girls there were polite and the service was good. But there was no heating and it was really cold outside (28 January 2023. 3 degrees). The selection of wine was good and the prices reasonable. But when you order a meat board that says on the menu: "a selection of curated Scottish meat" and costs 35 pounds, you don't expect 10 pieces of salami, 6 crackers, hazelnuts, walnuts, grapes, 2 pieces of dried fig, 2 pieces of fresh fig, some chutney, 7 pickles, some pickled onions, and a basket of yesterday's bread. Disappointing.

What a cosy and welcoming, wee gem of a place! The charcuterie board was as pleasing to the taste buds as it was on the eyes. This is art my friends! Nice selection of wines too (highly recommend the Pinot Noir). A great place to catch up with your favourite people. Thank you to Karly and staff for making our Thursday evening, something to remember. Look forward to trying the cheeses on my next visit!

My husband and I had our wedding anniversary here. It was wonderful - in this cold winter evening our hearts got warm from the kind service and tasty food.

10/10! Karly puts such care & effort into the cheese boards which are always so beautifully presented with unusual accompaniments. The butter-boards and dessert boards are also delicious. No better place in Edinburgh for a cosy night in!

We held here a welcome meeting for the linguistics PhD students and it was fantastic. Excellent food with vegan options, and the staff were absolutely fantastic and very friendly. Ideal for booking for a social event, and I would guess as equally great for a casual stop.

My boyfriend and I had white and red wine, scotch egg and baked camembert. The wine selection is great, gives you a chance to try brands that you might have not heard of! (e.g. Hungarian wines are hard to come by, but Karly serves a lovely Hungarian Little Cricket) The atmosphere is pleasant and the waitresses are very kind. Fully recommended!

This is a new place near the kings theatre a small menu just now but if you like cheese would highly recommend cheese platter with fruits, bread cheese from Mellis.Wine list limited but our carafe of rose very palatable. Partner and I shared a mixed platter. Cheeses were rich and tasty, chutney delicious, as was the quince. Partner enjoyed the meats. Ample sour dough bread and dainty tasty 'toasts' and crackers accompanied, all sprinkled with a variety of fruits and nuts. Didn't see a wine I liked but owner encouraged me to try a couple. Found a fresh hungarian one which was served beautifully chilled. All pleasant, though felt slightly uncomfortable with staff outnumbering diners (just us) each being patently aware of one anothers conversations, despite the rather odd 70's playlist.

Went there to celebrate out anniversary! The charcuterie was wonderful 😍 and the staff were all super friendly! The place unfortunately was super crowded and we got seated between two bigger tables with little wiggle room.

We had an amazing meal at a wee taste, we are a family of 5 with 2 younger children. Carly went out of her way to accommodate the little ones, they were very happy and keep asked to go back! We brought our two teenage daughters and experienced our first wee taste visit. The owner was delightful and full of enthusiasm for what we would be eating and drinking. The restaurant was full the vibe was relaxed and friendly. My husband being a Yorkshire man admitted it wouldn’t be stuff he would normally choose to eat but everything got eaten and next time we may just order an extra scratch scotch egg or two to fill him up! We really enjoyed sharing the brownie platter, a very simple but effective dessert choice! Went with a friend for lunch and got the cheese and meat sharing platter. Unbelievably good. The plate was packed and we were both very satisfied and full. The meat and cheese were an inspired selection and impeccable, more than enough to justify the proce with the meat and cheese alone. But the nuts, chutneys, pickles, crackers, bread and butter were next level and elevated the whole meal from usual charcuterie to a Fine meal. And everything from local producers. We went for lunch so didn’t get wine but it is such an elegant, chic wine list we will be going back next week in the evening. Also to try the desserts as the brownie looked gorgeous. I’m so pleased to have a place like this in Edinburgh, absolute must see for tourists and locals. Highly recommend ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a fantastic experience from start to finish. The drinks were delicious both a blood orange and vodka spritzer and a beautiful French rose. We had the cheese sharing platter which was amazing and over flowering with so many fresh and delicious delicacies alongside fabulous and interesting cheeses. The owner is hugely knowledgeable and extremely welcoming and her attention to detail is apparent in everything from the decor to the hand soap 😍 I nearly forgot to mention the scotch eggs which are amazing......I thoroughly recommend a visit it has a great relaxed atmosphere and the food speaks for itself 👍

Hands down this place will satisfy all your charcuterie dreams! My Party of 3 shared the amazing meat and cheese platter along with some delicious tinto de veranos which transported me back to Spain for the afternoon! And even if you’re full, you cant miss out on the desserts! Honestly I can’t think of a better way to meet up with friends or family and enjoy some great food and drinks at a wee taste! Went to 'A Wee Taste' on Friday evening and had such a lovely time! Karly and all the staff were so lovely and welcoming. The wine selection was very good, and I'll definitely need to go back in time to try the spritz on their specials board! We got the sharing cheese board which is advertised on the menu as suitable for 2-4. The board was absolutely beautiful and had a great variety of wee nibbly bits. The cheeses were all delicious and Karly was great at talking us through the different cheeses when she brought the board over. The only thing I'd say is I wouldn't say the cheeses on the board would stretch to 4, as the slices were rather slim. There was only two of us and we devoured the whole thing! We also got the sharing dessert board and for that I'd say the opposite, the individual would have been enough for the two of us. Would highly recommend!

Here is why it’s great: A) the people inside are incredibly welcoming, they make you feel like you’re eating in you front room, but the food, vibe and view is better B) the food is not only so totally tasty but locally sourced and guilt free C) the interior design is top notch D) the toilets have really fancy soap. It’s called Aesop. My wife says it’s expensive Come for the food, the people, the look but most importantly the soap
