Excellent food and very friendly helpful staff in a very relaxed atmosphere. Leave space for a portion of Baclava. It's absolutely fabulous

I was visiting Edinburgh for my partners birthday and decided to go there for dinner. The food was so authentic, large portion and amazing presentation. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They heard that my partner was vegan and suggested more options (definitely recommended for vegans, is a must try). Made the birthday experience exceptional and couldn’t imagine better.

Came here for New Year’s Eve and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better meal or place to visit. Lovely staff and the food was unbelievable.

The food was delicious and fresh! We particularly liked the dips (that came with tasty warm bread), the patatas bravas and the falafel! Not to mention the fresh mint tea and baklava which we had after and were blown away by. Service was fantastic and there was a lively atmosphere, would 100% recommend.

Such an authentic and little family run business. The Tzatziki is like NOTHING I’ve ever had before, hands down the BEST tzatziki ever. The portions are really worth the prices and the staff are super lovely and friendly. They kindly took us both in when they were fully booked and the cocktails are super strong. Such a lovely little restaurant, easily the best Mediterranean in town!

My friend and I ordered Burger Mediterranean, lamb casserole and Borek. We are happy with the food really tasty we highly recommend the burger!

Went to this place a while back and it was lovely. Great food and a real homely feel. Not now.....food was awful....calamari seemed open cooked from frozen, crispy chicken wings were far from crispy and every tapas dish was loaded with iceberg lettuce. Poor quality. And very noisy!

Amazing food and atmosphere, honestly a must visit in Edinburgh. Food was authentic and full of flavour, great portions. Service was exceptional, Abhi our server went above and beyond to make our birthday feel special. Attentive, asked for allergies and offered plenty veggy options. Will be back.

They guided the baby stroller down a narrow staircase to the bottom floor. The only halal meat option is meatballs. The attention of the staff was normal. The meatballs were good but the rice was bad. The fries were a complete disappointment. Lentil soup was okay. Since you haven't tried their other dishes, I can't comment.

Fabulous small Mediterranean restaurant serving wonderful selection of food. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We dropped in without pre booking but they quickly found a table for the two of us. Would definitely recommend to others and we will certainly be back, but might book the next time!

If you haven't been here you need to go, ate there last night ,service and food coming out was quick, we tried gyros, asparagus and arancini all dishes were very tasty, staff were all polite ans welcoming , would definitely go back.

During our stay in Edinburg it was difficult to find healthy options. Meze meze was one of the few places where we found a variety of options and very well seasoned ones! Meals with vibrant colors, fresh vegetables well prepared and tasty. The service was excellent, they always made sure that we didn't miss anything. They have been really nice to us. Recommendation: All dishes come with a salad so there is no need to order more! . I definitely recommend this place

A hidden gem only a short walk from Princes Street. Meze Meze has a comprehensive menu offering small plates and main meals. Portions were generous and staff very friendly, the Baba Ganoush with warm, toasted pitta & the Greek salad were delicious.

Fabulous food and atmosphere, with friendly staff. I called to bring our booking forward which they were able to accommodate. They helped a less able member of our group with the steps (3 in total). We chose a selection of meze dishes: lamb with hummus and the baba ganoush were superb all dishes were good. One member of our party can’t eat cheese so they serve the feta for the Greek salad separately. One of the nicest meals we’ve had in ages

Really not great. The value for money is no better than 2 stars. The same goes for wine. And the service is falsely friendly, to try to push you to consume.

Visiting from Dundee for a day out in Edinburgh, we came across Meze Meze on Rose Street and decided to give it a try. Service was efficient and food was of high quality.

Quiet idyllic setting with courteous staff and lovely food, Nice warm comfortable rooms.

Ordered tzatziki and hummus for starters which was nice alongside the fresh bread however the mains were terrible. I ordered chicken shish and I got 4 skewers of chicken which were over cooked, no flavour and rubbery. The presentation was a mess, tons of vegetables, fruit and cold salad which didn’t go! The whole thing was covered in chili and brown sauce which made the meal taste worse. It was served with what I think is rice. Overall the worst £60 pounds I’ve ever spent.

It's a great place.. I recommend it to Turkish friends and everyone who misses their homeland, come and eat and be well fed 😂

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and it turned out to be, in my opinion, the best dining experience in Edinburgh. The staff, especially the lovely young women at the venue, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made sure I was well taken care of and recommended a baked salmon dish served with rice and salad. The quality of the food was exceptional, with every ingredient perfectly prepared. I savored each bite and couldn’t stop until my plate was clean, despite the generous portions. As a Londoner myself; honestly, I’m surprised this place isn’t packed because this was hands down the best dish I’ve had in the UK.

Great service, cute little place, excellent food. We had 6 different dishes and they were all better than the next one, lentil soup, hummus, greek salad, potatoes, falafel, halloumi pastry, pita... We all loved it.

Fresh and delicious food, quick service, good location and very friendly Turkish owner. We had a terrace seat as the restaurant was fully booked inside. A bit expensive, we paid about £124,- for a full mezze table, but definitely worth to pay Tesekkur ederiz :)

We like Mediterranean food and have been to a number of places all over the UK, but this one has been head and shoulders above the rest so far. The quality, flavours and choices of food are excellent. Well recommended

The food was awful! The reviews are misleading. Not close to Turkish or Middle Eastern food. For Halal food seekers, you only have limited option of frozen Kofta and Calamari. They do have Falafel, but it is far from the Falafel served on authentic Turkish and middle eastern resturants.

Abhi was the best waiter and we had a great experience with some of the best Mediterranean food! We’ll come agian yum! This was a spectacular, mind numbing, backshoting, delish, and explosive rambunctious meal.

The dips were very nice! The portions are good too. I recommend the hummus and baba ganoush. I did not like the lentil soup too much but if you enjoy a tomato-y soup, then it’s for you.

Delicious food and great service

The food is delicious. The type of food is Turkish. Their meat tastes amazing and delicious. We ordered chicken shish tawook and a bitter meat burger (kofta). They taste amazing. We ordered very ordinary fattoush and unacceptable hummus, and they serve you fresh bread with it. The place is very small. The tables are close together and the level of cleanliness is good. The staff is friendly. And good luck. Its prices are average for Scotland and its location is nice. When we entered the restaurant, we were told that the network is down, so the account is in cash and there is an ATM nearby.

Great place. Ignore the bad reviews. Just bear in mind that portions are decent sized and the recommended 3-4 dishes per person might be too much.

I have to say I agree with a previous review. This was the worst meal we had and the most expensive during our stay in Edinburgh. Uncomfortable seating and sitting next to an air conditioning unit blowing over me I felt cold. Food was luke warm and made colder from the aircon unit. Didn’t help every food item was served on top of lots of cold salad. Didn’t feel service was that attentive. Overall sadly a disappointing meal for me.

Very good service and lovely staff. The food was good and large portions but and there is a but we thought it was expensive. Don't get me wrong, it's very central and in a good spot, so they may have high rates, but we are from London and understand high prices but try them and see what you think 🤔

I'm not sure what to say, I usually don't review restaurants but this place was so terrible I had no choice but to warn other people, do not go there. The food is unbelievably bad that no one finished their dish, I think this was the worst meal I've had in the past 5 years minimum, we ordered the lamb shank, the duck, the kofte and all was horrible. I'm not talking about the price and I'm not talking about service, I'm talking about taste and cooking, the worst I've been to for as long as I can remember. And I sometimes don't mind a mediocre meal if it's cheap because u know, you get what you pay for, but this was expensive, the bill was almost £200!!! We could have gone to lots of nicer places with that. Anyway don't go, it's horrible

Delicious food, good price and located on a quaint little street that’s great for people watching. Didn’t skip on veggies, most plates came on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers. Would come back!

stoped here only for deserts.. Feels like family restaurant that screaming for Angry Ramsey to help them to make business better! I think hygiene is not strongest side for this very small restaurant as very no- welcome feeling service. I shouldn’t recommend you to stop over here even if you keen for some middle-east dinner.. Go to Mussle in that is next door!

It's a nice small restaurant, food is superb but service and atmosphere could be better. We ordered an extra pitta but unfortunately this took 15 minutes to come out to the table and the staff obviously forgot as they kept asking if we had finished. I'd recommend pre booking, it's a very busy place.

I am a lover of Greek food and except for the adaptation to Scottish food of making everything spicy, there are very delicious dishes such as falafel (without the disjointed spicy sauce), pita bread and calamari. And for dessert, the delicious baklava. The plates are not big, rather small. The high price compared to Spain and quantity. Great service and atmosphere.

High quality food that tasted authentic. The service was fantastic. Make a reservation in advance because the place gets busy. I had the lentil soup, dolma, and chicken skewers plate. Everything was delicious. The menu says to order 3-4 plates per person. I assume this means for the mezes because we ordered 2 mezes and 1 speciality plate and it was a lot of food, so needless to say the portions were good. I would definitely recommend this place.

There were six of us and we got really good food, it was freshly prepared, the vegetables were crunchy, a large portion, well seasoned, a change from the less shortened English food The service was attentive and funny at the same time Recommended, even if you're sitting in the basement :-)

Take their advice and have the olives as a starter, unless you loathe olives. My wife was not a fan of olives and still ate a few of the light green ones.

Food very very tasty. Service can be expanded. The boss is rather grim and doesn't say a word too much. Definitely a recommendation because of the delicious food.

The taste of home away from home. If you’re craving authentic Middle-Eastern cuisine, this is the spot to be at. Everything was so yummy and authentically prepared. We ordered the Mezze Mezze feast and indulged in stuffing our faces with tasty mezzes, main courses and even took some home for later. Jamal, the chef, along with Alice and Abhi, our servers, were incredibly helpful and super hospitable. We’ll be coming here again!

Food was fantastic. We eat a lot of Mediterranean style food and loved every dish. The lamb in the tomato sauce was the star of the show! I’d go back to Edinburgh just to eat here. Staff was fun and super helpful! 10 out of 10!!!!

My friend and I ate there two days in a row and ordered different dishes both times. Everything was delicious, we liked the atmosphere with the music and the service was very friendly and funny. I can't understand most of the negative comments and would recommend the restaurant to any of my friends.

Very tasty food at the heart of Edinburgh. However, on my second visit (02/05/2024) I was told there aren't any tables available. A couple walked in right after my partner and myself and they were offered a table. Pretty sure they were a walk in customers as ourselves. Very disappointing experience.
