I came in Tuesday night to a packed wine bar. Josh and Pierre handled everything very well and took very good care of us. would definitely come back.

He made us very happy with his wines, charcuterie plate and balcony. Definitely stop by when you come to Newtown.

Yordanna and Isla were amazing hosts for us 🫶 great cheese, great wine 🍷

Had the a la carte in The restaurant, La Petite Folie

This is an amazing wine bar, probably the best in Edinburgh for its great selection of wines, with options for all budgets. The platters are just like what you'd find in France—big and delicious. Unlike other wine places in Edinburgh, where the platters are tiny and overpriced, this place gives you real value. I'm giving 5 stars because the staff are fantastic. We had a problem with our booking, but the manager made sure to find us a spot, even though it was a busy Saturday night and we were a group of eight. Their great service made our night special. So thank you again :)

Dropped in for a cheeky digestif after our lovely meal next door (separate review). I chose the only Chardonnay on the menu - wish they sold it in the restaurant. My husband was less decisive - Josh to the rescue, rising to the challenge with gusto! Knowledgeable, friendly, charming! Partner steered towards a monestral which went down a treat. A welcomed far cry from our post covid visit some years back (also reviewed), certainly encouraging us to return much sooner.

Fantastic wine bar. Love the inside decor and layout, such a nice place to meet for a drink. Also enjoy sitting outside with a nice glass of wine too. Great selection of wines by the glass and great choice of cheese/meats etc to enjoy with the wine

Went here for my birthday. One of the staff members Pierre was very helpful and made sure everything went well. Highly recommended.

First of all, we would like to highlight the attention of Jonathan and Isabel, eager to give us the best, charming at all times. A place with special charm, very pleasant atmosphere at high tables and low tables. The menu offers multiple possibilities, and the boards are more than delicious, the 10 smoked products surprise with their quality and unmatched flavor. We will return every time we go to Edinburgh.

Waited ages for the food. The restaurant didn't seem busy. Especially 2 of us were waiting on options that did not require cooking, for example charcuterie , which came last. Staff were very friendly but overpriced for what we got. The quiche was good .

Excellent wine list. Food menu is light but matches wine very well. There is space to improve food quality such as using better sourdough bread on the croque and as a side, better quality cured meats and some better quality cheeses. Some cheese is very good others are ok. Excellent service, staff is attentive and nice. Warm atmosphere. Probably the best wine bar in the city

I was organising an event for two colleagues who were leaving and had been let down last minute by another venue. I called Le Di-Vin two nights before the date and they were super helpful and made the booking process seamless On the evening itself Jonathan, Josh & Iona were super attentive. We had the mezzanine level and they came up frequently to ensure everyone had a drink. The food platters were amazing Overall an great experience. It was my first time visiting but will definitely be back and will share with others Lynn

Envie d’un bon verre de vin, d’une planche avec plein de bonnes choses à grignoter (charcuterie, fromages, olives…) dans une ambiance à la fois chic et conviviale et un très beau cadre… sans oublier quelques mots en français, le Di-Vin est l’endroit à faire absolument pour passer une très agréable soirée !

Our server Isla was fantastic! She was sweet and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We were celebrating a special occasion, so she brought us some bubbles to start and then complimentary drinks before we left. The food and wine was delicious as well. We will definitely be back soon!

I really do like the place. Great food, VERY nice wine.

We had an incredibly disappointing experience here. We came in around 7pm for wine and charcuterie and were sat right away by a kind hostess. Then a gentleman (seemed like the manager, maybe even owner?) came up and said “this table is reserved, I don’t know who told you to sit here.” We explained, he moved us to a table upstairs, seemed fine. We got our wine order….and then were never approached by a waiter again. The larger party also sitting in the upstairs section actually got up and waved and shouted down to the bar to get someone’s attention so they could finish their meal. Despite someone finally coming up to them, still no one ever came up to us. We finally got up, closed out at the bar, and left. We’re generally very understanding of the service industry, but the restaurant wasn’t even very busy and we waited for a very long time before giving up.

Mooie stijlvolle zeer goede wijnbar! Heerlijke wijnen, veel keus, lekkere happen en diner in een mooie gezellige omgeving. En de hond ‘Rocky’ is zo lief! We kregen nog een glas wijn van de eigenaren. Alles klopte deze avond.

Great choice of cheeses on platter and cold meats. Soup was Lentil and was easily the best I've had innall my time iron the planet! Good range of wines and great ambiance.

Great service and atmosphere but what happened to the lovely accordion and banjo music?

Wine bar offering French sharing dishes. We had a great time. The wine and food were very good. We are very happy to have come across this restaurant while walking around Edinburgh.

Dreadful service. The waiter constantly chased us for our table when we were 30 minutes then 15 minutes from the deadline which we were aware of. When the next table arrived early we were asked to move, no please or thank you . Wine is overpriced and food is dreadful. Avoid.

Very busy and quite noisy when we arrived but it did get better. Wine and food was all great and enjoyed by all. Service was a bit slow initially due to how busy it was but improved later.

Absolutely beautiful place - both the bar and Le p’tite folie. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere etc. all 1st class. However, I would prefer the owner to keep staff conversations private and not within hearing distance of her customers - we have experienced this a few times now.

Pushy/rude staff, after two bottles of wine they pushed certain members of our party to drink more when they didn't want and over filled our glasses. At first I wondered if it was just the end of our table time, but no it was just to empty the bottles.

Buzzing place with fabulous wines- not to be missed

Lovely place for chilled and relaxed meal. We went for a light lunch and it was wonderful. Really warm and toastie atmosphere with fantastic staff, just the right side of attentive. The the type of place where time just flies. We will definitely go back for dinner next team.

Love this bar but everytime we are here there is a problem with our bill. Yesterday we ordered a bottle of house white wine and we got the wine ordered but we were charge £8 more for a more expensive bottle. If our friend hadn’t mentioned how much his round had cost we wouldn’t have questioned it. We called over a member of staff who sorted out the difference but there was no apology it just a case of it’s sorted now!! In a previous visit we pointed on the menu to a bottle of Viognier and didn’t realise that we were given a more expensive bottle until we finished it? We spoke to the guy who served us and there was no apology. On another visit we ordered the same Viognier from the same guy and again we were served the more expensive bottle but we were prepared for it this time. When we questioned him and asked why he said he always gives customer the more expensive wine? No reason no apology!! So it’s a nice wine bar but check your drinks and what you are being charged this has happened to us on 3 visits …… too many times to be a mistake or a coincidence???

Great new bar - best lager beer I've ever tasted! Birthday party up on fantastic mezzanine level, great for between 15 and 30 people! Thoroughly recommended!

What an amazing place! We were so glad to stumble upon it, getting away from the busy Edinburgh roads. It has got such a great atmosphere, very friendly staff and a great range of tasty wines. Our waiter Nico was able to choose the wines for our taste and we ended up having an amazing evening in this lovely French place :)

Without a doubt this is one of the greatest restaurants in Edinburgh. The value you get is worth every penny spent. No need to mention that the wine selection is outstanding and the quality of service is just as fabulous.

Le Di-Vin is the perfect pre Rugby venue. Always excellent wine, food and Champagne! We love it. The staff are amazing including Isla, Josh, Pierre and Elton.

We had a great experience at Le Di Vin for a large group and that was due to the amazing service that Isla provided. She was extremely attentive and helpful through the night. We would highly recommend it.

We hosted a family reunion last night. It was absolutely wonderful! In particular Isla and Jonathon were incredible. They went over and beyond to make our evening so memorable. We will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Beautiful! French! What's not to like

Lively atmosphere in wine bar; more subdued in restaurant. Food excellent. Mussels piled high as starter but excellent white wine sauce was too far below so half the amount had to be eaten without the sauce which was a great pity. Sea bream was wonderful dish. Companions had boeuf bourgogne which was praised. Pinot grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Rioja were savoured throughout. Wonderful evening.

Absolutely lovely place for a huge wine selection. We even made friends with Rocky. Will absolutely go again.

I’m not entirely sure what happened to di Vin recently, but the place has definitely lost a sparkle. Food and wine are ok.

Food used to be better here. Pricing is not good for what you get and the quality is not great either. Absolutely fantastic wines though!

We dropped in for wine and some food and we’re so welcomed and made to feel special by the staff. The restaurant has a lovely design, assisted by the high ceilings and old stained windows being a chapel in the past. Interesting and broad wine list. We loved the charcuterie board. Not to be missed.

Le Di-Vin is an attractively laid out Wine Bar located below the Le Petite Folie Restaurant. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, and I even got a 'Highland Park' malt from my homeland of Orkney. Recommended

Small boutique wine bar with food

Just what is needed when you want great service, a great wine selection and a great sidekick to enjoy your night. Rocky is the star of the show

Le Di-Vin is an exceptional spot to catch up with friends over excellent wine and food. It has quickly become one of my favourite places to visit in the city. The selection of wines is truly outstanding, with an impressive array of both red and white wines from around the world, and the staff are always on hand to offer their expert recommendations. Their charcuterie boards are the most generous I have ever had, and you can easily make a meal out of them. The building that houses Le Di-Vin is an old Polish church, and it is absolutely breathtaking. It's easy to lose track of time here, and I always do.

We held my sons 40th birthday party here and it was fantastic from start to finish. Jonathan was so helpful when we first made enquiries and after meeting him we knew we were in safe hands. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went according to plan. The buffet was outstanding and all the guests remarked on what a perfect venue it was. I cannot thank you all enough.

It all started so well. Went for late lunch. Not busy 3 tables. Got seated was served quickly with food and drinks. Food good wine very good. Thats when it went down hill very quickly service wise. After having our food and one drink, 35 mins later no one came to take our plates away or offer another drink. Still 3 tables but staff were all behind the bar chatting. So i went to the bar and stood there as a girl behind the bar walked up and down the bar twice before she said are you getting served. I said eventually. Seeing that i was annoyed she just walked away. So just paid bill and left. There doesnt seem to be anyone managing this place. I would have had another drink and dessert and left a tip.

We were here as a group booking for a special birthday and had the event space up stairs at the back of the bar. The evening was amazing. The space is lovely, the staff and surroundings were great and the food and drink were fab! Special mention has to go to Isla who was incredible, she kept the whole operation flowing smoothly the whole night. I’ve worked in hospitality for 15 years and would be ecstatic if she was on my staff!

So far down. What’s happened? Couple of years back this place was buzzing with a great French lady making it happen. We turned up this week with some guy stuck on his cell and back to the bar. C’mon? Food was great. Service not anywhere near it. Just crap man. Guy called Vin was the only one on the ball. That guy saved the day. Who’s hiring here? Crap man. No line manger, no reporting path, no frigging interest in helping. Shell

Wine was good. Atmosphere excellent. Real buzz. However the £20 cheese board is dissapointing both in size and taste.

Surprise get-together with friends for my wife's birthday. Wine and food excellent but this was more than equalled by the very friendly and efficient staff. Isla kept everyone on their toes and was very artistic when it came to the cake-presentation. Great atmosphere and definitely plan a return visit.

Can't fault Di Vin, great menu, extensive wine list, both by the glass and bottle, friendly staff. The ever reliable Frost Pocket Sauvignon Blanc went well with the fish platter, and having decided that we'd try their dessert wines, these went perfectly with the delicious creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding.

Great atmosphere and location. Some of the best wines in Edinburgh. Great staff and a fab restaurant upstairs. You can still eat in the wine bar though and it’s glorious. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place, called in for a drink on way back to accom after a big day in Edinburgh ! Such a great feel about the place, staff amazing, 1 drink turned into 2, and best garlic snails and olives we’ve had in a longtime, special mention to Jonathen & Isla for making us Aussie’s feel so at home in a little piece of France in a little spot in Edinburgh, highly recommend & we will be back next time we’re in town, Jonathen you need to visit Oz 🙂🐌

Com base nas avaliações, decidimos conhecer e arriscamos ir ao restaurante, mesmo sem conseguir uma reserva on-line antecipada! Tivemos a grata surpresa de ser super bem recebidos e acomodados na parte superior do bar, uma área VIP com uma belíssima vista para o bar! O bar tem uma decoração moderna, com uma atmosfera agradável e amigável. Pedimos uma tábua de queijos e frios, com um vinho francês delicioso que fez a nossa noite! Fomos super bem atendidos pelo Vinicius! Vale super a pena a visita!

Great spot for lunch! Lovely building - quirky and well thought out design. We went for the tapas sharing platter - cheese and charcuterie- great value and lots of it. Great quality. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and service was exemplary. Great value and great service. Looking forward to the next visit.

We came here and immediately had such a warm welcome. Our waiter, Isla was so lovely and extremely helpful when it came to the wine options. The food is also extremely good quality and would recomend the snails. We will definitely be back!
