Location and space is lovely, really chilled. Service was great throughout, really friendly and helpful. Food and drink were great and 2 hours flew past. Added touches for our anniversary were a real treat that we both loved.

WOW. This restaurant is a must if you are in Edinburgh. No wonder it has won numerous awards, it really shows. This was honestly the best steak any of us have ever had, and we all love steaks so have eaten in a fair few restaurants over the years. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and attentive, it was a real treat and overall brilliant experience to eat here. We had the chateaubriand with truffle fries and peppercorn sauce and it was absolutely outstanding. I would eat here every night if I could!! Wine was lovely too and the dessert was just as nice (we had the chef special cookie dough). I would never be able to come back to Edinburgh and not eat here, and I doubt I will ever have another steak that lives up to that one!! Honestly it is 12/10 would highly recommend. Ps the Albariño wine is gorgeous

Fantastic meal, rivalling the likes of Hawksmoor for a top class steak. Quesadillas, Rock Corn, Black Angus Ribeye, Signature Mash, Pepper Sauce and French Toast were all stand out. The Ribeye in particular went amazingly with the Argentinian Malbec. Can’t wait to visit again later in the year!

Lovely place though quite overpriced. I had the filet steak which was really small and undercooked to my request (rare instead of medium), which isn’t the end of the world, but when you charge £45 for a small filet, then it has to be perfect. A £6 side of veg which was two tiny pieces of broccoli and some cabbage… Again not bad, but what’s with the tiny portions? Don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon, price quality just doesn’t add up. But definitely not a bad restaurant. A lovely fancy - yet cosy place should you have a craving for spending cash.

Hadn't decided where out of a few options we considered, we would lunch prior to arriving in Edinburgh on a Saturday. After parking up and walking around St Andrews Square, we settled on here. We arrived early without a reservation, the bar was empty and there were only a few other diners in the restaurant which made me a tad apprehensive. I'd read the menu previously and knew what I wanted to order. As we were here for lunch, we stuck to the Street Food section. Food was delicious and more importantly all dishes were brought out at the same time. We orderd 5 dishes with the crab tacos being a favourite. The playlist was very good, creating a laidback but still lively atmosphere. After about 30 minutes of us arriving the restaurant was really busy. Staff were excellent, the restaurant is pretty and the food delicious. Hope to return for dinner the next time as the main dishes looked amazing.

A party of 14 went to Scotland for a weekend for a 50th,and someone from our group pre- arranged a meal here.. we come home yesterday, and the highlight of everyone’s weekend away,was this place… everyone was blown away by the food we got to sample here... we shared all the starter dishes,so everyone got to taste how fantastic each & every dish was. Then when the mains came, we wanted each other to sample how good these were too, so again passed these around to each other,so everyone got to sample all theses too.. it was ALL unbelievable.. even the mash potato was passed around lol … the staff were very knowledgeable and helped explain some of the dishes prior to ordering, and 1 gentleman even knew his onions, in regards to fine wines and smooth whisky’s..… this is one of the best food Experiences I have ever had, and I hope I get to Experience it again with my family…. the chief popped out, so we were lucky enough to thank him personally, before we were given some amazing cheese cakes.. thank you all so much for making our experience a good one.. and compliments to the Chef.. thought I’d leave a review so you knew the impact your restaurant had on ALL of the 14 chaps that came in on Saturday afternoon.. The person responsible for this booking, has now been told he can arrange all future bookings, because he got this one so right.. Thanks again all, and keep up the fantastic work..

An easy 5 stars. Food was absolutely fantastic with service and atmosphere to match. As someone with a severe nut allergy I was made to feel completely safe from the outset. Must visit in Edinburgh.

Fantastic dinner at LePetit BeefBar! I was staying at the George hotel, and due to travel snafu came in later than expected and not feel like going to Leithe as planned. We decided to snag a table at Le Petite BeefBar. AMAZING. Some of the best salmon I have eaten in the world (and I dine a lot). Everything was perfect. Service impeccable. The savory Panettone was a rich delight and I highly recommend. I had the salmon, arrived on a small brazier and was perfectly cooked. My son had the chicken, also arrived in small brazier and also perfectly cooked. Starters were great, and my son had the French toast dessert and loved it. I had a signature drink and loved it. Really worth it if you are in new town area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The food was really tasty, we had the boa buns to share for starters and these were unreal, very fresh and smokey. We then had the Sunday roast which was pretty good. For dessert we had the sharer ice cream with different sauces and toppings, and this was also very good. Our waiter Fionnbar was very polite and helpful, he was a credit to the staff. The atmosphere I'm not sure as it was quiet for a Sunday evening

Incredible, it's definitely worth the cost, great atmosphere, great music and super good quality food, one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh!

Was looking forward to going here for a celebration dinner for a while, the food cannot be faulted but the service was atrocious. The tables are also put so closely together to cram more people in to the point it is uncomfortable other people peering over to your table when your food arrives and hearing all the conversations being had. One of the starters was forgotten and not noticed until we pointed this out when the other starters were finished. We acknowledged this could have just been an error so asked if this could be brought with the mains instead which the server agreed too. Also asked at this time for the wine menu back which had been cleared to order more drinks. The manager then approached the table and we relayed the same information to which she then brought the missing starter out and proceeded to tell us the mains were just behind (it was another 10 minutes before they came out and the manager was absolutely aware of this passing and looking at our table three times but didn’t make eye contact despite trying, there was no offer of any apology or to rectify taking this away and brining back with mains). The starter then obviously got cold. The wine menu never appeared leading us to have to pull up the menu on our phones and order. There was then the cheek to put on a service charge which we did pay because at this point it was quite clear that service is not a priority here. We did spend £248 whilst here so it wasn’t a light bill and was definitely a reason purely for service that we wouldn’t recommend or be back.

Had a great early Valentine's dinner here a few days ago, made extra special by Alisdair, his knowledge of the menu was incredible and he made us feel welcomed and special for the entirety of our evening. The food is amazing! Especially the street food section (favorite was the bao buns). 10/10 would highly recommend and can't wait to go back

Went for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed with the meal. Meal was very poor standards, ordered both chicken and beef - portions and quality weren’t great. Very disappointing for the price.

Literally the best steak I’ve ever had!! I got Tagliata with medium rare and it was so amazing and juicy literally the best. Also Gelato was amazing especially the berry jam one.

Visited a few times and the food has been second to none every time. Starters are interesting and always great so would recommend trying as many as possible. Steaks are also fantastic and always cooked well! Only downside is that it is quite expensive and prices seemed to rise in August on an already expensive menu.

Fantastic food, clear some time and come hungry. Food was a cut above , staff vigilant and friendly, and dessert worth leaving space for even the coffee is a rich roast to savour. Do try Bao buns and The Steak.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at La Petit Beefbar restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The drink menu was equally impressive, with creative cocktails and a great selection of wines. The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We booked Le Petit Beef Bar after hearing so many great reviews, but we were so disappointed. From the moment we arrived the service was shocking. We had deliberated leaving and going elsewhere, but decided to give the restaurant a chance. Our waiter asked if we had any allergies. I mentioned that I had a dairy allergy (which had been put on the booking note), and was made to feel like a major inconvenience. Our waiter sighed and crossed their arms, asking if it was an allergy or simply an intolerance. They briefly ran through a couple of the menu options, stating I could have a the two salads without cheese, and none of the sauces. They really did not fill us with much confidence as to what I could or couldn’t eat. I have never been made to feel like such a burden. We had been staying at The Caledonian, and the service there had been phenomenal, so it was a complete 180 going to Le Petit Beef Bar. We ordered some cocktails which were lovely (the only good part of the meal). The food arrived no more than 10 minutes after ordering, before we had the chance to finish our cocktails or before our wine had arrived. We had to ask the waiters twice for the wine before it was eventually brought over. I ordered the miso black beef, which tasted okay but was stone cold and chewy, and the fries were soggy and cold. My partner ordered the meatballs which came with mash (and also a hair!). Both of which were also cold, and the mash was liquid. We informed our waiter of this, and a few moments letter received the food on warm plates, but the food was still cold. The portion sizes were also tiny considering the price! The Pinot Noir had clearly been corked, as it smelled awful & was undrinkable. By this point we just wanted to leave the restaurant, so didn’t finish our meal and asked for the bill. The waiter asked how our meal was, and their explanation was that the kitchen was simply running behind (which makes no sense considering how quickly our food came out!). We left hungry & disappointed, and went elsewhere for food. Luckily we knew we were going back to the Caledonian, so it didn’t ruin the evening completely. If you are thinking of booking here, do consider going elsewhere, as there are plenty of restaurants which are miles better in Edinburgh!

This was a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel, Intercontinental George. It was convenient and it was lovely. We had reservations and were seated promptly. It took a little while to have someone take our order and much longer to get our food, but the food was excellent! We were not disappointed at all. It did take a long time for server to bring our bill even after asking for it twice. Not sure why as they were not terribly busy. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, the food was wonderful and they also had live music, which was great!

Fantastic night for my Husbands birthday, amazing food highly recommend the fillet steak and for pudding the chocolate soufflé and cheesecake. The staff were amazing especially Alister and Maria. We will definitely be back. Thanks again 😊

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Le Petit Beefbar on Saturday, 7th December. The whole experience was absolutely exceptional. One thing that stood out to us was how passionate, welcoming and informative Matthew was - he explained all the menu and gave us personal recommendations that we were very grateful for. The steak was the best we've had in Edinburgh! Thank you to all the staff, particularly Matthew, for a fantastic evening. We look forward to dining again soon.

A must visit, my husband and I went for lunch and cannot wait to return. Staff attentive and knowledgeable but not overbearing. Food was exquisite, such incredible flavours. It was so good we forgot to take photos!! Will 100% definitely be back.

The food was very tasty. The only thing that wasn't so cool: instead of the fixed lunch for 29 pounds, we were charged separately for the starter and main course, which is 48 pounds. Quite a difference. And we had to wait 30 minutes for food

Le Petit Beefbar Lunch at 13.30 on November 15th Last week my wife and myself had lunch at the George Hotel as a birthday treat for my wife. Following our visit I was asked for comment on social media of our dining experience. I would not submit my comments publicly as I don't think that would be fair to The George. I was a frequent patron of the hotel many years ago and don't want to post social media negative reviews but I'm happy to share them with you. Let me say firstly that none of my comments reflect on the serving staff as they were attentive and polite. Our issue was with the food and beverage. The burger my wife had was in the style of a McDonald's burger and didn't take much better. It was also just warm enough to eat. I had the salmon on a copper grill burning charcoal. I wanted it cooked through which is was not and it also was just warm enough. To finish we had cold coffee's that we had to return. Talking about cold. The restaurant was the coldest part of the whole hotel that we spent time in that also made the experience disappointing. I wanted your to know this directly as you can pass this on. We will be back in The George over the festive season so we haven't fallen out. Yours sincerely, John Moodie

Daylight robbery is the best way to describe our experience here. We booked to have a jazz lunch to celebrate our anniversary. I am vegan so carefully checked the menu in advance and although a beef restaurant may not seem like the obvious choice, my husband loves meat and they had a fantastic option on the menu for me and I had noted on the booking that I was vegan so we were really looking forward to it. When we went to order I was told that the vegan option was not available as the company that suppled them, Redefine Meat had gone out of business and they had not sourced an alternative yet. Our waiter checked with the kitchen and advised they could offer me a cauliflower steak instead which I was fine with. What arrived was a whole head of cauliflower with absolutely no flavour at all, the only seasoning was a sprinkling of salt on the very top but nothing had been done to it other than that, 2 pieces of broccoli, a few sad looking pieces of carrot, again with no flavour (I think the non vegan option was honey glazed), a few roast potatoes which were fine and a bright red 'gravy' that was so sweet it was inedible. My Husband had the Sunday roast and said it was okay except for having a burnt Yorkshire pudding. So aside from average to poor food, there was no jazz, a man was played a couple of songs on a piano then left, the wait staff while friendly were inexperienced. We were told by one that he couldn't pour the wine without spilling it and the other had been the one to tell me the vegan meat company had gone out of business (this was a lie as I have contacted the company and been assured this is not the case). The beef roast was £36 and the vegan roast was £34 for ingredients that can't have cost more than £2. Along with the £40 wine and service charge we paid about £120. Our waiter was fully aware of the issues with our meal and even said he was dreading talking to us as it was obvious to him that it was terrible. My husband contacted Le Petite Beefbar direct to tell them of our experience and was told to let them know when we were coming back so they could make sure we had a good time. Firstly, they should have made it right at the time by reducing the bill when they knew we were very unhappy and one of us unfed, secondly, it shouldn't take advising in advance that we are coming to ensure they provide decent service, surely that is something every customer should expect and thirdly, why they would think we would return there again is beyond me. We walked out after spending £120 and went straight to another restaurant for a meal as I was so hungry. I would not waste your money here, there are plenty great roasts to be had in Edinburgh for a fraction of the price.

Great restaurant with very welcoming staff.

I would simply call this a tourist trap. I would expect a wagyu beef to be marmorized. Half my steak was fat and the other half was meat. Though the meat was OK, i was was a bit dissappointed. My friend ordered a double a so called "smash burger". It was really two pucks of compact meat. Taste was so so... The wagyu set me back 60pounds! The room that we sat in was really bright at 9pm in the evening. So, for me, this is not a place to hold your breath for. It feels like this place dont know where to place their bet as they put too many different kitchens on their menu like japanese, mexican, turkish, italian and so on. None of the dishes really met our expectations. If you still choose this place, don’t save it for a dining experience or "the night" out.

Good food and atmosphetr. They add their own service charge of 12.5% on the total which I am not very fond of and not suiting.

The service was initially too slow but once they remembered I was there things improved and I liked that they made recommendations. I got three small plates and the quality was very good - including the best bao buns I've ever had. The bar atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. It was quite pricey.

Ended up taking up our wonderful waiter Fin on his recommendations and he did not disappoint one bit . With all fairness the marbled wagu steak I can honestly say was one of the best I’ve ever had during all my travels across the globe and the traditional mash was a meal by itself . Ending the dinner with the French toast was a great finale to an exceptional experience . Keep up the good work .

Lovely food and wine and very friendly service. It was quite quiet in there which is why the atmosphere score is not higher. The toilets are miles away from the restaurant which I guess is because it’s part of an hotel but is slightly odd.

Might have just had the best Cesar salad ever! It had kobe beef that they made into crispy flakes. At first I thought it was bacon or prosciutto but nope. Kobe beef. Delish!

The Food was amazing, especially the baby quesadillas, simply spectacular. The soufflé and the cheesecake were a must try. However the highlight of the experience was the service. I would like to say a massive thank you to Maria who was very kind and polite and helpful for us. Even when we had asked her a weird question about whether we could buy the emoji plates that the food was served on, she was was very helpful and didn’t criticize us.

Amazing Sunday Roast. Great to be able to share between family, friends and couples. We have one beef roast and one chicken roast and both were cooked perfectly.

We have been in the UK for two weeks and tonight we had dinner at Le Petit Beef bar and it was the best meal we have had in the entire trip. It was exceptional quality and the presentation was excellent.

We were tourist in the area, and we were craving some steaks, found here without booking, but they were very kind letting us seating in the bar area. We had signature NY and fritis, sauteed mushrooms, seasoning veggies. Everything was great and well seasoned! Recommended!

The service was outstanding! Attentive, everything arrived quickly without feeling rushed and very nice staff. The food was amazing, highly recommend the signature sauce with the steak frites. The ice cream for two dessert was absolutely delicious, generous and beautifully presented. Beautiful place, a bit on the loud side but that's to be expected on a saturday night. Would recommend this place for sure!

Excellent pub menu, delicious meat good service, beautiful setting in International Edinburgh, first we dined at the restaurant. The last day of our trip we stopped over at the pub bar for a drink , which dad the same menu as the restaurant we end up dining again ☺️

Fabulous 👌 Expensive but the food is superb. Great choice of starters, main course and desserts. One of the best steaks I've had, the chicken dishes were succulent too. Must be one of the best eateries in Edinburgh. Highly recommend

We are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel and the concierge there is awesome, we mentioned we were in the mood for a steakhouse and he recommended we try this spot. Right from the get go the experience was awesome we were able to sit right down we walked in around 5:30pm. We started with the mini burgers, then I had the filet with peppercorn crust and she had the Wagu, also got all of the sauces on the side to try. There wasn’t one bite of food left when we were done everything was outstanding. Also had the spicy tequila drink if you like a spicy cocktail it’s a must try. If I was back in the area and wanted a steakhouse I would highly recommend this spot!

Great service. My flank steak wasn’t cooked as I ordered and without having the time to say anything , I was told another flank steak was on the way (on the house) . The service was impeccable. The place looks nice, clean and cosy. I strongly recommend it.

Excellent dinner option! Wonderful food, very friendly service and the place is very beautiful!

I wanted to love this place but the food was very over seasoned. Also, a bunch of my friends fell out of the tin and the person bringing the food didn’t address it or offer to bring more. The steak was well cooked but so salty I couldn’t taste anything else (including the pepper sauce I ordered with it) Additionally the rock corn was so salty I had to stop eating it.

Service was impeccable. The food, however, was not. I ordered the “ultimate smash burger” which was very dry and solid for what was advertised as a “smash” burger. The steak was fine, but the pepper sauce tasted more like bbq sauce. We also had the baby quesadillas which again were fine but absolutely not worth the price, KFC chicken was also overcooked. If it hadn’t been for the service provided by the waiters and this review relied solely on the quality of the food it would have been a one star.

We had a lovely time! Started at the bar for a few mocktails and then headed to the restaurant. The food was great. I would really recommend the jambon d’entrecote which was simply amazing! if you go for the steak frites, the petit beefbar sauce is great and the meat is lovely. We had a NY strips and honestly, just great! We shared a chocolate souffle for the dessert and again, it was lovely. Slighlty disappointed that there was no cheese option, but overall, we had a great time!

Do not go to this restaurant if you are celebrating. We went and were asked to keep the noise down by the rude manager. Very disappointed and expected better after attending many times before ! We won’t be back !

We went for dinner on our last night in Edinburgh and I was really surprised by the quality of the food and the great service. The food was 10 and I will definitely repeat if I return to the city.

The food is very delicious. The best thing was the Japanese steak. It melts in the mouth.

We love the venue. Lovely classy feel to it. I was looking forward to the normal steak and frites but since the menu change the presentation of the dish was different. The steak I asked for was medium rare and it came barely pink. Lovely flavours, just a bit disappointing. Staff were lovely , especially loved the American female bar tender. At times, the restaurant staff gave us information overload and it was hard to reply to them, have space. Other than that, it was a nice night out

It was my daughters graduation dinner. This says a lot for our emotional condition. It was good but the group next to us was shouting and really not behaving well. Nice menu, service could be faster. But try it.

Outstanding food and service. Every course was delicious. Waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Went for other half birthday. Got nothing special for the occasion. Compulsory 12.5% tip for ridiculous prices. £95 steak asked for medium and was well done around the edges. Full of tourists would not go back

Finally I have found a top top quality steak in Edinburgh ! We have been disappointed many times In our search but Le petit beef bar is just amazing ! From the quality of staff and service , to the decor to the wonderful menu and most importantly the quality of the meat is was a wonderful wonderful experience. Moussa and his staff should be very proud they treated us well wonderfully and our family visiting from Brazil (where top quality meat is very common ) we’re blown away too. We 100 percent will be back. Ps the truffle mash is to die for ♥️

Really enjoyed our dinner. The service was good and the food was very tasty, each bite was full with delicious flavours. The restaurant is in very nice historical building. We definitely would come back.
