Loudons New Waverley in Edinburgh, City of

Visited here on Xmas Eve. Felt that the staff couldn’t be bothered having you there. My husband ordered the full breakfast and the haggis and black pudding on his plate were about the thickness of a piece of card. Ordered fresh juices, and they were more water than juice. No taste at all. Our hot drinks were on the counter for over ten minutes, but the staff kept walking past them. I ended up going over and taking them myself. Won’t go there again.

Lovely relaxed dining atmosphere with tasty, fresh ingredients. I am coeliac, and very confident with their prep of gluten free food!

My last meal before lockdown. Happily fed my friends and my vegan girlfriend. No stress, attentive service, all done with a smile.

Food is very tasty, everything on the menu sounds good. Service was excellent. Place is big, however very busy. I would recommend you book in advance.

We visited here to try something new at 8:30am. It was a Saturday and I called ahead to check if it will be busy. I was told 'Probably not' so we made our way over at 08:30am for brunch.I opted for the French toast with bacon and syrup. It was a good size portion but there wasn't much bacon. It could have done with having more of it. The French toast came as three pieces stacked with two rashers of bacon and dusted with sugar powder. It was quite nice to be honest more than I was expecting it to be having had French toast before. It was well presented on the plate too and moderately priced.My partner had the Smoked Salmon and scrambled egg. He said that it was very delicious. It didn't look as appetising as mine when it arrived but it tasted great. this came with butter and toast as well as cream cheese.We ordered two orange juices, two tea's and some water as well as the two breakfasts it took about 15minutes for the food to arrive after ordering (We were the only customers) which timing wise the delivery wasn't bad.The place felt a bit cold and clinical to be honest and we were seated at the window on a tiny two person table when there were comfier sofa's and larger tables available. Would have been nice to be seated somewhere on a sofa for breakfast being the only two in the building. but hey ho...The menus isn't overcomplicated which is nice but it also doesn't have a lot on it either. It would be great to be able to add some sides, extra beans, maybe more bacon etc... If you do this maybe let the customers know? If not it would be something to consider as I'd have easily ordered more accompaniments...Overall it wasn't a memorable dining experience and the staff didn't really go out the way to make it so either... Being the only people in and having to wave over at staff to get the bill when its clear your finished isn't a good sign. Particularly as there were about 5 staff inside and two customers...Would I recommend it? Probably not. I feel there's warmer environments at places like dare I say it... Wetherspoons for example. A little cosier and less baron. It's not bad but it's not great either...

I have been to Loudons at Fountainbridge many times and love the new venue too. Great food, great coffee and great service.

My fantastic partner had not been to Loudoun's Waverly. The visit was off the chain good! Decor immaculate waiting was pleasant, without being overly familiar. Offered experimental espresso in the guise of a flat white. Extraordinary. This eatery is safe, well presented, and freshly prepared. Excellent value for money and your life will change for the better once you Go there.

I had the full on 'Scottish' breakfast which included haggis. I chose the El Salvador blend of coffee which was one of a few on offer. The place was empty when I arrived - albeit I was there at 9.30am - and only became a third full the whole time I was there. Easy to get to from the station where I had parked my car and it was almost adjacent to the Premier Inn.

Nice and spacious and warm welcome when arrived, great breakfast menu which has everything to choose from, this is my third visit in a month and never had a bad breakfast, the coffee is nice also would highly recommend

Came for a bday brunch. The choices were amazing from full English, to poached eggs with all the fillings, sandwiches. We all got a different poached eggs, a smoothie and a coffee each. Everything was so delicious ! Will be going back.

Breakfast was a disappointment. Food was cold using cold plates does not help. It would appear that economies are being made with the portions. Toast very hard. A pity the only condiments are brown or red sauce. Mustard would be good.

We recently visited London’s for a 70th birthday breakfast for my father in law. With current restrictions, we were unable to go away as planned but this was made better by our trip to London’s. They split the family over two tables so we complied with restrictions - but it meant our 91 year old grandad wasn’t left out.They were very accommodating and understanding when my husband and I were 30 minutes late (newborn and traffic) and didn’t rush us along. They made my father in laws 70th birthday very special - bringing out a wee cake as well and the food never disappoints.Can’t recommend enough. Thanks for another incredible breakfast - best benny’s in Edinburgh!!

Food was excellent, staff were lovely, the place is very clean. The only let down is the drinks selection, no branded drinks.

Came to Loudons on a recommendation, both ordered full breakfasts and were quite dissapointed. Very small and beans were powder like, black pudding like a hockey disk, flavourless haggis and bread so hard it'll hurt to bite down. The drinks however were nice, fresh orange and apple juice and a nice latte. Potatoe cakes were also good. Think you'd be better off having eggs benny which they are better known for. Won't be going again.

Lovely food, good coffee and great décor and location, but what makes Loudons great is the staff: friendly and approachable. I just wish the flat whites were a bit more generous - it felt more like a cortado size-wise!

Visited with my husband and we had the eggs benny. Everything was delicious including the coffee. We also had a pan au chocolat each which was the best I've ever had. Great service, incredible food, good price. Can't wait to come back!

Popped in for a spot of brunch prior to heading to the shops and was not disappointed! All the food was delicious and staff could not be faulted. We will be back!!!

Was really impressed with my first visit to Loudons - don’t be put off by the fact that the website doesn’t let you book lunch on weekends, just select it under ‘brunch’ - I nearly gave up until I realised this and am so glad I didn’t, this was a wonderful meal. Two of us had the superfood pancakes - neither of us are vegan or gluten free but they were so, so delicious and full of texture. Two others had the full breakfast and haggis burger and were very happy. Coffee and cakes also delicious. There’s a time limit on your table but we didn’t feel rushed at any point. The food came out very quickly which meant we could relax and linger. We were served by a few waitresses, all were very friendly and on the ball considering how busy (but socially distanced) it was. Everything is well priced too. Just fab all round.

Estaba muy emocionado de visitar a los loudons después de acechar sus publicaciones de Instagram la semana anterior. Desafortunadamente, las imágenes fueron definitivamente mejores que la realidad. La comida era bastante sosa y sin sabor y apenas por encima de la media. Mi esposo y yo teníamos un artículo de su menú de desayuno y ambos quedamos decepcionados. El menú se ve muy bien y tiene mucho que ofrecer, sin embargo, el sabor no está a la altura de las expectativas.

Solo una simple cita de brunch con un amigo, pero el servicio fue perfecto de principio a fin y todo lo que tuvimos fue delicioso. Amigo tenía el desayuno vegetariano y yo tenía el queso de cabra y verduras Benny. Ambos fueron devorados. 2 blancos planos cada uno (si soy quisquilloso, son más pequeños que el blanco plano promedio, pero en realidad no me importa eso, ya que no me gusta demasiada leche) ambos comimos el frijol invitado de El Salvador también, que estaba delicioso. Combinado con un jugo de zanahoria y jengibre cada uno y un par de tés para terminar (nos estábamos tratando como si no nos habíamos visto en años). Mi amigo incluso pidió un poco de inspiración para el té de uno de los meseros que ofreció muy buenos comentarios. Ambos nos fuimos llenos y felices. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?

Me invitaron a dejar una reseña, así que aquí va. . . Las tostadas / pan se dice que se hornean en la tienda, lo que debe significar que usan masa comprada previamente. Está seco, sin sabor y cortado demasiado grueso y dos rebanadas enormes en el plato parecen un relleno barato. (aunque solo una pequeña porción de mantequilla) No fue una presentación inspiradora con salchichas demasiado pálidas.Las salchichas saben bien, pero los huevos no tienen sabor y ¿por qué tomates al ajillo para el desayuno? Me sirvieron una alternativa (lo adivinaste) tomate en rodajas sin sabor. Sin embargo, fue agradable tener la opción.El servicio fue muy bueno, debo decir, agradable y alegre aunque un poco molesto al recibir nuestro pedido. Aunque algunos con prisa agradecerían la rapidez.En general, Loudons y otros lugares de propiedad local podrían agradecer a los lugareños por el apoyo (en lugar de aprovechar la ola de ganancias) y brindar una oferta de valor aún mejor.

They were extremely rude to me. Asked me to stand outside some reason while others were sitting in waiting for the table. They pretended they didn’t understand my accent. Food eas cold and tasteless. I do not recommend.

Dos firmes favoritos son los de salmón y espinacas con salsa de cúrcuma; y los que tienen haggis, cebolla caramelizada y salsa dulce fría. Son la mejor forma de empezar el día.

I booked an early Sunday morning breakfast here and I'm very happy with the choice I made. The poached eggs and avocado were excellent, and there's a lot of variety available on the breakfast menu. Very pleasant surroundings and attentive service.

Das Café hat den Charme einer zugigen Kantine umgeben von Bürogebäuden. Extrem einfache Einrichtung, professionelle, unpersönliche Bedienung, das Essen ok aber auch kein Highlight. Warum ist der Spinat auf dem Toast kalt und das poached egg überhaupt nicht gewürzt? Schade, wir kamen wg. der guten Bewertungen aber würden es nicht empfehlen. Es gibt gemütlichere Orte zum Frühstücken in Edinburgh!

Good brunch, reasonably priced. More convenient location that Fountainbridge, handy for the rail station. Food was good, service was good. Will definitely be back.

All 4 of us had something different and all breakfasts were cooked well and piping hot, very friendly staff and I can see why people were queuing at the door. Highly recommend.

Tenía muchas ganas de venir aquí, ya que el menú se ve muy bien y sabía que este lugar era popular. El servicio fue excelente al llegar, sin embargo, la comida no tanto. Ordené Benny Loudons. Descubrí que le faltaba cualquier otro sabor excepto el salado y amargo. La combinación simplemente no iba de la mano. A faithful continuation of its sister restaurant in Fountainbridge . Visited here for first post-lockdown breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff, spacious and clean in a relaxed atmosphere while adhering to the latest Covid-regs. And the food was pretty tasty. Plan to visit again soon.

After a long weekend in Edinburgh we decided to book a reservation at Loudons New Waverley for a brunch before setting back on the road home. We initially booked for 11:30 but felt our morning plans didn’t last as long as required, so when we went in at 11:00am asking if there was any chance of being seated early, the welcoming staff assured us it was no problem. We had our table cleaned quickly and set before being welcomed over. The staff were super welcoming, very friendly and made themselves readily available when required. Could not be better.The food - the Hoots Mon with a replacement of Hollandaise sauce instead of the ketchup chutney, made the meal. I loved it so much. My partner had the American pancake staff and was absolutely delighted with it. 10/10 would recommend visiting here the absolutely ANYONE. So many options, very welcoming and great place to be. Thank you for completing our great weekend away! Until next time x

What a breakfast! Amazing choice which suited all ages in our group. Great service and would go back if in Edinburgh. Modern and clean setting.

Food was fine but could be better. Great coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Service was great and people were very friendly.

I have emailed Loudons. I have tweeted Loudons. And still they won’t even acknowledge my complaints regarding my visit a month ago.On arrival (for a pre-booked table) there was no use of face coverings by staff, no screens and most importantly, no distancing between staff and customers with staff leaning over people and getting very close. I should have left then, but gave them a chance.After being seated, it took over 15 minutes of trying to get attention before even being offered a menu and asked if drinks were required. But they looked a bit busy, so I gave them a chance.I made a specific order and was assured it was memorable as I wanted the vegan burger , but with bacon. It came without the bacon. The bacon then arrived later on a separate plate when i was half way through (I hadn’t been able to get the attention of anyone to ask where the bacon was..). And my side of slaw had an inch long black hair in it. Luckily I don’t like slaw and, hey, mistakes happen. So I gave them a chance.After the meal I ordered a coffee. The waitress made a genuine, normal, mistake and spilled my coffee all over the table and onto me, landing in my crotch and going down my legs. She was very apologetic and made an embarrassed attempt to clean up... And that was it. I had hot coffee spilled on me. All down my legs. And the management didn’t show. We asked for a manager. She arrived and was stand-offish, arrogant and smirked in an unsettlingly disdainful way. Her opening salvo was that she was sorry, but the staff hadn’t yet had a break so it was to be expected... The discussion went nowhere. the manager maintained her smirking “couldn’t give a ...” attitude and eventually proffered that, maybe, the meal might be free as she turned and walked off...Five minutes later, at the counter, she was advised that my trousers were covered in coffee and I would neeed to purchase replacements whilst I was on holiday. She agreed that it would be possible to claim reimbursement and went off to get paper, passing through thee kitchen. As she emerged from the kitchen, so did other staff, who stared at me and smirked also...And I left. We were not asked to pay for the meal, but the meal was not very expensive. I did not, at any time *refuse* to pay. No bill was ever produced. The hot coffee was now cold, but I stank and had coffee stains all over me. I went to a shop and bought some very cheap replacement jeans. I was stared at and laughed at for the rest of my day in Edinburgh.After returning home from my Scottish holiday, i washed the jeans 3 times. they’re still stained. So I emailed Loudons with a similar description as here, and photos. they ignored me. Not even an acknowledgement of the email.So I tweeted their account, asking for a response. No response to email or tweet.So I detailed the above in tweets. Still NOTHING.The hygiene was lacking. The service was lacking. The covid precautions were non existent. The coffee spillage was forgivable. or it would have been if the management response were not so aloof, confrontational and rude.If I had treated the staff at Loudons like they treated me, I’d have been asked to leave.If I were in the service sector and ignored polite but serious complaints, I’d be considered unprofessional, pathetic and unworthy of future business from anyone who expects professionalism, good food, good hygiene. In all, RyanAir can teach Louydons a lot about how to treat customers properly. And we all know how bad RyanAir are. Turns out there *is* worse service though. At Loudons New Waverley.

Visited for breakfast on Saturday morning. We ordered pancakes, which were tasty although a little overdone/hard. But the toppings (apples and berry compote and walnuts) were delicious and it tasted like a crumble! The apple juice was freshly pressed and the coffee was good too. It is table service. Menus are still being used, and sanitised after every use. There is good social distancing between the tables and hand sanitiser at the entrance. Would recommend booking in advance but there were some walk-ins.

We had a really enjoyable and delicious breakfast. The difficult part was choosing what to have! We felt very safe and felt the covid measures were excellent.

Easy booking online with a wide choice of food for veggies and vegans. Very healthy options.The service was good and stuck with covid guidelines. Lovely big pot of tea that gave several cups.The food was absolutely divine, really enjoyed the pancakes and everyone with me was the same.The restaurant was clean, tidy with nice decor. The bathrooms were the same.

We ordered 3 full breakfasts and 1 veggie breakfast. It wasn’t great. Toast, bacon and potato scones was dry and hard. We all left most of it. The place and service was lovely

It’s my favourite place for breakfast and lunch! Since my first visit a year ago I’ve dragged anyone I can to this place when I can. They do all day breakfasts with great portion sizes, have lovely friendly staff and are dog friendly too - not sure what’s not to love! The fair fa Bennie is my favourite, but they have so many other choices too and lots of vegan options. It’s not the cheapest breakfast joint ever, but it’s one of the best.

The breakfast was really nice. We visited twice and had a full Scottish breakfast and french toast. The coffees were really nice. Really efficient and friendly staff. We didn’t wait long for our order. Would definitely go back.

Our first post lockdown lunch and it was perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful and are doing their best to ensure you have an enjoyable visit - they have good procedures in place to help you feel confident that staff & customers are safe - hand sanitiser available (which is used regularly by the staff), track & trace in place + tables, chairs etc wiped down between sittings. :) Thankfully you get to eat off a "real" plate and are provided with "real" cutlery - all of which I am sure has been washed thoroughly.This is their new sister outlet - it comes with tables well spaced out - another bonus.The menu offered is diverse and interesting - you are spoilt for choice - so much that you will need to go back again.Getting a table is straight forward when booking via their website - which I would recommend.Get along and help support one of Edinburgh's finest day time eateries.

So much choice, it was hard to decide! I went for the Benny with haggis, black pudding and bacon, it was so delicious and I didn’t need lunch!The staff and service were very good, even with all the covid-19 precautions in place.Book in advance, it was busy even on a Monday morning. Excellent selection menu selection, difficult choice! I went for Mediterranean Poached Eggs & Avocado. It didn’t disappoint. Great variation in the usual. Highly recommend. An excellent spicy Bloody Mary to finish. Will go back!!

Large but busy modern cafe. Great service and tasty food. Stayed at the premier hub (min walk away) and booked for breakfast at Loudons each day. So glad I did, so much to choose from on menu, even for my coeliac bf.

Fantastic from start to finish, quickly seated in a busy restaurant and served coffees. I had the full breakfast and my partner had American style pancakes and we both loved it! Can’t recommend highly enough. Will now try the fountain bridge restaurant next.

Food was alright not worth the price though. We had high expectations after reading all the amazing reviews but £36 for two breakfasts and drinks was way overpriced for what you got. Food was slightly cold when it came out, and although service was good the food was disappointing.

The service was brilliant here, all of the staff were so friendly! The food was lovely as well, we had a full breakfast and french toast with bacon. Would 100% recommend. Very spacious inside for pushchairs if you have kids!

It took a while to have our order taken and there were a few missing items on the menu so we had to order again, however, it was very busy so understandable. When the food arrived it was very tasty, we ordered the Benny’s with some haggis on the side (generous portions). Wish I could have had the full breakfast but would still definitely recommend!

Service a bit slow tho it was quiet when we arrived. Plenty to choose from on menu , however I felt it was overpriced. Almost £6 for a pot of tea for 2. We enjoyed our food , glad we went but not so sure I would return.

Service was very slow at every stage. Lunch was good, including vegan options. Lots of space inside and covid was handled well. Ok value as portions were fairly small.

Holiday Monday mid-morning treat and benefited from £10 deal!A bit disappointed that there was no Hollandaise sauce for my eggs Benny but pancakes were a good reserve choice.Complimentary bowl of water for our dog and felt safe throughout the stay.The menu is extensive although if you are not an egg fan, it does limit your choices. Staff and food are always very good with quick service and attention.Need to support this independent venue as I suspect the offices surrounding it will be a long time in being occupied!

I donit normally write reviews but feel my experience in Loudons today was bad enough to write one. Arrived at 11.30 and took 20mins till was approached by a waitress to order. Once order was in 40mins had past and our food still hadn’t come. I noticed tables beside us who came after we’re getting their food. I approached the waitress who took our order and she came back and said she had not put the order through and said sorry. We then waiting another 20mins for our food to finally arrive. After eating we asked for the bill. Again almost half an hour goes by and myself and my friend have to go up to the counter. We asked to split the bill, and it wasn’t until I left that I realised I had been overcharged. Applying service - won’t be back!

In general, I WOULD recommend Loudons - I love their food and have been countless times. But I wouldn't recommend at the moment - absolutely zero safety measures for COVID-19 except Test and Protect details being taken on booking. Everywhere else I've been has at least something - staff wearing masks, perspex shields, hand sanitiser at the door, operating at reduced capacity, even temperature checks, but there was none of that here. At Loudons, staff were coming right up to our table with no mask on and with no concern over maintaining distance from customers. Cursory wiping down of tables between customers. No marking out distance spots for customers in the inevitable queue for tables that forms.On the plus side, the bennys were as good as ever...

Everything was delicious. Food very well presented and didn't overwhelm. One snag would be that my other half ordered a cappuccino (twice) and was given a latte (twice). Not a big deal but sort of shows lack of staff training at a really petty level. Good service all around.

We booked a table for 4 as a celebration lunch out. It was our first post-lockdown meal out and we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, great service and the cafe was spotless. It's such a spacious location, it felt very safe and comfortable. Looking forward to returning again soon. Very child-friendly, really good range of things on the menu and the cakes are delicious

Excellent lunch with family. Everyone v happy with menu choices. Very friendly staff and excellent COVID adjustments. It was immaculately clean. Highly recommend for a sit in royal mile meal.

Had brunch here at the weekend and it’s now a favourite place for brunch in Edinburgh! Nice vibe, has quite a big outdoor seating area too. Staff were lovely. Food was amazing! Gluten free muffins were so light and fluffy.

Fabulous breakfast in the spacious restaurant at Loudons. Service was friendly and relaxed but I felt very ‘safe’ good discipline on collecting contact information, hand sanitiser etc.But the sausages, bacon and eggs was just as good as ever. I’d recommend it!!

We were a group of 12 people and had an amazing morning at Loudons. There were delicious options for the vegetarians and vegans in the group, which was really important to me. Think the pancakes were especially good. The staff was happy for us to eat a home-made birthday cake after breakfast and offered to bring out plates and light the candles- much appreciated!

A full restaurant, with numbers of rugby fans prior to the Scotland v France match. Service held up very well. Thank you. The full (Scottish) breakfast was a little dry - more beans & perhaps the option to have two eggs?

Friendly staff, clean, speedy and the food was fresh and hot. No complaints at all. Saw someone with a dog at a table, so good to find a dog-friendly place in the city centre. Would definitely recommend Loudons.

Fantastic breakfast at Loudon’s! So great we ate here twice in one weekend! Staff were really friendly and helpful! Highly recommend the Eggs Benedict! So many options to choose from - pulled pork was tasty! Definitely a must-do for anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Llegamos a Edimburgo a eso de las 10 de la mañana y buscamos previamente un lugar para tomar el brunch. Estaba muy entusiasmado con el menú en línea y tenía muchas ganas de ir allí. Sin embargo, estuvo muy por debajo de las expectativas. El café era realmente terrible, pero aparte de eso no había mucho realmente mal. Fue todo un poco irrelevante. Tuve uno de sus célebres Bennys y solo sabía suave y no daba la impresión de estar recién cocinado. Mi esposa tenía panqueques y estaban bien, pero una vez más dudo que estaban recién sacados de la plancha.Me recordó mucho a Subway, donde todo se ve muy bien en el menú, pero la realidad es muy diferente.

We had been recommended Loudons as somewhere to have breakfast ..... and we’re so pleased we found it !! We both went for the Mediterranean Avocado & Poached Egg - it was seriously DELICIOUS !! Great service - clean surroundings - would highly recommend to others !

I got stuck with a phone without battery and cancelled trains so my only way home was a taxi. I ended up at Loudons in a busy Sunday afternoon, but despite that Kieran and Melissa were really helpful, listened to my problem carefully, sat me down and called me a taxi. I really wanna thank them for their kindness and I will definitely come back for food next time!

I had a really nice breakfast. Everything was freshly cooked and very tasty. Lovely service from friendly waitress. Very modern and clean. Will definitely return when next in Edinburgh. Very highly recommended

Great space, service and food. We had the super bowl and it deserves its name. Coffee is always well made and its a great cafe to relax it. Plenty of space for prams too.

I’ve eaten here twice and each time I have found it hard to make a choice from the enticing menu. Most recently I had the goat’s cheese on lentils and chickpeas, a protein packed choice. It was delicious and healthy too, what more could you ask for. My companions have all enjoyed their choices too.

Excellent brunch on a Saturday! Don’t be put off by the location in a courtyard of very modern office buildings. This is a gem. Very fresh innovative menu items and classics as well! We enjoyed the scrambled eggs and salmon, eggs Benedict and a pulled pork bowl. Excellent tea and good service!

Had high hopes having seen online that this was one of the best places to have breakfast. Huge restaurant that resembles a school canteen, especially as there were only 2 other people in there. Breakfast menu extensive but a little too ‘try hard’. Its pretty hard to do baked beans and toast wrong but they manage to with the strange beans, tomatoes that are served cold? and toast that’s so thick it barely fits a mouth full.

Usually a fantastic place for food and somewhere we take all visiting friends and recommend to anyone coming to the city. Today however the food just wasn't up to scratch. Huevos bennys were cold and lots of excessive liquid on the plate meaning the bread was soggy as it had clearly been sat out for a while before being served.

The restaurant was really accommodating and we could wait on the sofas until a table became available. Lots of variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch food. We both got Benny's and also got a roll with sausage. The food quality was excellent and the coffee was great too. Lovely looking selection of sweet treats but were too full to pick one up

I’ve just had the best breakfast I have ever had at loudens. We stayed at the premier inn not far from there and decided to try there for breakfast. Wow, lovely and well presented, a feast for the eyes and tasted so delicious. The staff are so friendly too. Would recommend this place

Came here for a brunch after we arrived in Edinburgh from London, after seeing the boys from SortedFood visit on their tour. They recommended the Bennys sand my friend and I both had the Hoots Mon - absolutely delicious! Couldn’t fault it. Homemade lemonade was nice too, service very good.

I ordered the veggie breakfast and it was one of the worst I've had. Was recommended Loudon's as a great place for brunch but I won't be back. The veggie "sausages" were some weird deflated blobs. Turned out to be some kind of bland, mashed pepper thing. The beans had either been flavoured with cumin or were some kind of chili-style. Odd. And I wasn't impressed by the cold watery lump of boiled spinach chucked on the plate.

Very busy, had to wait for 15 mins but no problem very well organised. Cater to a lot of dietary requirements. Service is very friendly, excellent choice of food. Wonderful coffee.

Recently visited with two friends for breakfast and it was delicious! We had the Hueavos Bennys, Loudons Bennys and the Fair Fa Bennys which were all incredible. The service couldn’t have been any better. Will definitely return!

I was recommended this restaurant for lunch by a friend and when I arrived I was slightly put off by the “vegan friendly” and “superfood” items on the menu, worrying nothing would take my fancy, I didn’t need to however, I went for the Scottish breakfast and it was delicious. The sausage was very tasty, as was the bacon, potato cake and home made bread, black pudding and haggis, if you get the beans don’t expect them to taste like baked beans, they are also home made and have a very Italian tomato taste to them, not what I was expecting but none the less still tasty!

Went with my sisters & niece as it was recommended, so glad we did the food was gorgeous & the service was amazing.

Fresh tasty food in open spacious environment. First time we tried Haggis and we are hooked. Great vegan options. Highly recommended!

We visited for brunch about 10:30 on a Friday and had no difficulty getting seated. The staff were lovely (though our server - Robert? - spoke a little too quietly for us oldies!). I had the power bowl, which was delicious; I shall be trying to recreate it at home. My husband had the vegetarian breakfast which he said was a little dry but otherwise good. Coffee and tea were good. Our only complaint was that a group seated near us had two dogs, one of which was running around and jumping up at our table while we were eating - we had to call the owner to come and remove it as she hadn't even noticed. Of course the dog's behaviour was the fault of the owner, but we were surprised to find that the dogs were allowed in the restaurant at all - is this usual? Apart from that, though, this was great and we will be returning some time.

As we were staying at the Adagio Aparthotel (which is literally above this restaurant) we only found it by chance..... and we are glad we did.
