We've been to groats before when it was a pop-up, we were over the moon when it found a permanent home, then not so happy when they announced they were moving. On that note, we had to go back and try it again! Famous for it's porridge, we went for one porridge and one French toast. Two refillable coffees to wash it down. The French toast was perfect, thick sliced and perfectly cooked. When you do something so good, keep doing it - this is groats all over. Will be looking out for when they next find a home.

Finally managed to get to Space At Seventeen before Groats time was up - such a cool little space with a laid back vibe. Coffee was filter (but good) with complimentary refills, albeit a little on the pricey side at £3), the service was very friendly and so attentive, water carafe refilled without having to ask and coffee refilled. I had porridge with coconut yoghurt, pear and ginger - which wasn't a vegan option but they made it vegan for me. Literally THE best bowl of porridge I have eaten (and I eat it a lot!) - cant wait to follow Groats around Edinburgh and see where they end up next. All of the porridge options sounded tremendous (as did the savoury options) - I was spoilt for choice.

So pleased to see Groats with a more permanent location, I was gutted last time I was up in Edinburgh and they weren’t doing any local cafe pop ups! Had the rhubarb and ginger granola oats and my partner had the eggs and avocado toast. So yum and reasonably priced for brunch in Stockbridge. The staff were super lovely too! Really recommend.

Absolutely lovely little coffee shop, waited a little while as they had forgotten about our order but was given two custard tarts by way of apology. Coffee and tarts were beautiful. Will definitely be back.

After an afternoon walking around the Botanic Garden, we stopped at the Orchard for dinner. We took the babaganoush with the house chips and the steak pie. Then we shared the orange cake with vanilla ice cream. Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly service and reasonable prices.

One of the best meals ever had in Edinburgh. Service was good and food was really excellent! I would definitely recommend it... and surely will go back in the future!

Visited here on Xmas Eve. Felt that the staff couldn’t be bothered having you there. My husband ordered the full breakfast and the haggis and black pudding on his plate were about the thickness of a piece of card. Ordered fresh juices, and they were more water than juice. No taste at all. Our hot drinks were on the counter for over ten minutes, but the staff kept walking past them. I ended up going over and taking them myself. Won’t go there again.

Fantastic wee pub - great selection of draught beers including sours. Nirvana played at their sister pub 'the Southern' - but they couldn't be arsed heading to the grassmarket.
