We've been to groats before when it was a pop-up, we were over the moon when it found a permanent home, then not so happy when they announced they were moving. On that note, we had to go back and try it again! Famous for it's porridge, we went for one porridge and one French toast. Two refillable coffees to wash it down. The French toast was perfect, thick sliced and perfectly cooked. When you do something so good, keep doing it - this is groats all over. Will be looking out for when they next find a home.

Finally managed to get to Space At Seventeen before Groats time was up - such a cool little space with a laid back vibe. Coffee was filter (but good) with complimentary refills, albeit a little on the pricey side at £3), the service was very friendly and so attentive, water carafe refilled without having to ask and coffee refilled. I had porridge with coconut yoghurt, pear and ginger - which wasn't a vegan option but they made it vegan for me. Literally THE best bowl of porridge I have eaten (and I eat it a lot!) - cant wait to follow Groats around Edinburgh and see where they end up next. All of the porridge options sounded tremendous (as did the savoury options) - I was spoilt for choice.

So pleased to see Groats with a more permanent location, I was gutted last time I was up in Edinburgh and they weren’t doing any local cafe pop ups! Had the rhubarb and ginger granola oats and my partner had the eggs and avocado toast. So yum and reasonably priced for brunch in Stockbridge. The staff were super lovely too! Really recommend.

Visited multiple times - always happy with the selection of craft beers, especially the rotations. Has a slighlty sophisticated atmosphere and nice staff.

Tasty, beautifully presented food in a charming barn served by lovely waiters. Dairy free options and nut free kitchen catered to our family for a celebration lunch. Would go out of my way to return.

Delicious meal of steak-frites and a Saint-Émilion red wine available. Prompt and tailored service, food arrived quickly and steak was perfectly cooked.

Had dinner here during our recent visit. It's a small place and therefore getting seating could be challenging. We had to come back the 2nd day after making a reservation on the 1st day. As soon as we entered, even before looking at the menu, we were asked if we would like mixed olives for the table. We should have checked, but said yes assuming they were complimentary. Only once we saw the bill, we noticed we were charged for it. Now the food, it wasnt bad but certainly not worth the price.

I used to come here years ago when I lived in Edinburgh, and am delighted that the quality hasn't declined at all. The food is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of ingredients and cooking. The restaurant is a beautiful place to be, and the service was attentive. One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.
