Great setting, delicious food, first class staff and service. Can't recommend highly enough, 10/10. So good we dined again two nights later.

The restaurant was absolutely amazing!! The food is out of this world along with the kind and warm service! We were served by the lovely Pepe and host (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name :( ) and they both were absolutely amazing. We were even wanting to thank the chef personally for the remarkable food. It was our first date night in months and it was all truly special because of this place! Thank you guys, we will be visiting again when we next come to Edinburgh! X

Some of the written reviews on this restaurant are good and I’m happy for those customers. However, for us it was as bad as it gets. The restaurant was about half full, perhaps a little less when we arrived at 19:15. There were two wait staff, a man and a woman. We were seated and promptly forgotten. Forty-five minutes later we got a glass of wine so that in itself indicates the service was very poor. Both courses were served cool or cold on cold plates which didn’t help as the restaurant was also cold. My wife ordered the venison and there was no guidance on how it was cooked. Perhaps uncooked with blood was the chefs way of cooking the dish, either way it was inedible. After two long hours there even trying to pay and leave was difficult. The male wait person was deeply engaged in a long conversation with other guests paying no attention to customers in general. Yes, pretty bad, definitely the worst restaurant I have eaten on this visit to Scotland. The owners should ashamed.

We got there and was greeted by lovely staff that got us sat down at a table of our choice. When questioned on what wine I should get the waiter was very knowledgeable and helped me decide. We got the bread to nibble and the cheese soufflé served with it was incredible! The steak was cooked to perfection (I asked for it rare) and the staff were so attentive! It was my birthday and without being asked or prompted they brought me a complimentary brownie. We had a waiter called Pepe who was so lovely!

This is the nicest place I have been in Edinburgh. SO impressed by the vegan options considering they're not a specific vegan restaurant, absolutely blown away by the attention to detail and the care on every plate. Would especially like to thank the waiting staff who looked after us, Anna - THANK YOU, you have such a warm attitude. Pepe and Rafa also very attentive and could not have made us feel more welcome. What a luxury to be asked if we were ready for dessert or would we like to wait after our mains. An absolute must visit for anyone in Edinburgh!

Firstly, the quality of the food & cocktails provided by 20 Princes Street was very good... however, our experience was all a bit weird. On arrival, the greeter at the downstairs door, was officious and not welcoming. Upstairs, they couldn't find our booking, (we had one!) which was off-putting and doesn't help the evening start well. The cocktails ordered (not listed on the menu) were superb and cheered us up. One of us doesn't eat onions/garlic and this was accommodated however, I requested that the potatoes in my chosen dish be swapped with ANY other veg & this couldn't be done. I've not eaten potatoes for a year - eat out weekly, and this is only the second time this has happened to me. The refusal came from the kitchen, with 'we're too busy.' What too busy to replace potatoes with some broccoli?!?! The waiting staff were not relaxed, so this made us wonder what is going on in the background... are the chefs grumpy? The food was very good, the choice was lovely, wine reasonable however, the staff weren't keen to offer us a 2nd bottle of wine at 1045hrs (?wanted us to leave) and at 1105hrs, the lights were switched up to very bright, signalling they definitely wanted us to leave! And leave we duly did!

Over in Edinburgh for a getaway and went out for dinner with my partner to Twenty Princes St. We had a bread board to start, it was okay. For mains I had ordered the chicken supreme, the chicken itself was nice, however it was accompanied with an assortment of random foods that were not listed on the menu such as some sort of fish cake and beans, also looked nothing like any of the images I had seen online. It was a quite disappointing meal for myself which did put a dampener on my evening.

Very bad service we were there for lunch arrived 1.30 took an hour for them to ask if we would like a drink and starter the maines took another hour to arrive witch was cold and burnt the manager didn’t seem to care over priced frozen food.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. It has amazing views and the food was fantastic. We had Pepe and Danilo as waiters and they could not have been more attentive. We had the festival menu and all of us had different things. It was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to come back here again. Hopefully soon!

A new venue for my annual Christmas afternoon tea with friends. The menu was lovely, very Christmassy, and the extra plate of hot scones went down a treat. Great value for money and wonderful service from our waiter. Highly recommended
