Rodi Restaurant in Edinburgh, City of

Great food and friendly people. Had the hummus and olives along with Turkish bread for appetizers. We had the chicken, lamb and steak dish with rice and salad, they were excellent . The baklava was exceptional !

Took my eldest son here for a meal. Very tasty and attentive friendly staff. The house red wine was also pleasantly and smooth.

Went here for a quick bite and it was alright. Flavoursome non spicy stew. Nice Turkish wine. Prices are a little high for what it was. £20 for most main meals. Probably wouldn’t return, but wish the restaurant all the best as the food wasn’t bad at all.

It amazes me when people write rubbish comments. I enjoyed the chicken shish. There was a lot of chicken on my plate. Crisp salad, sticky rice. With a beer. Just over £25. To me, good value and good quality. Give it a try.

Arrived at 12.10 and the restaurant wasn't open. In the 10 minutes I spent looking for alternatives the owners turned up and began to open the restaurant. Against my better judgement I went in, another solo diner also arrived, but there was no one else in the place. I ordered the kaza guvec (lamb stew in tomato sauce with onions, mushrooms and aubergines). It came with rice and added a diet coke and a Turkish bread. The sauce was tasty enough, but the lamb pieces were few and far between, absolutely tiny and very tough. Rice and bread were just OK. An underwhelming lunch and not worth the £26 it cost me.

Simple Turkish food, that’s serviced up by the the family that run the place. They make feel very comfortable and will go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your meal. The good and portions were ok. We had an enjoyable evening.

Used to love going to this restaurant. Great food and nice staff but just back from a lunch to be met with hugely inflated prices including £10 for a small Turkish coffee. 3 times the price you would pay at any other Turkish restaurant in Edinburgh. Felt totally ripped off. It used to be our favourite place to go but unfortunately we will never be back.

I was here for business on my own and came across this hidden gem of a restaurant. I was welcomed with a very warm welcome and hello, which made me feel that it was going to be a good place to eat. The smell that came out of the restaurant was grilled BBQ meats over coals and the smell of Turkey. It’s a small family run business and the hard work the couple did throughout the night really paid off. I think the lady was Romanian but truly brilliant and awesome service. I had a chicken kebab and was excellent and the flavours were great. You can tell the owner / chef has a really passion for great food and service. Over all it’s a 10/10. A true rare, hidden gem and a taste of Turkey. Well done to you both, I will always come back. P.S. the home made bread itself was worth coming for. Amazing and thank you.

How did I miss eating here before was through first thought that came to my mind. Cosy and small restaurant with beautiful ambience and great food served with passion and enthusiasm. Adana kebabs were just too yummy. Mutton chops/ribs were delicious and salads great.

The food at Rodi restaurant was absolutely delicious!! The chicken was mouth-watering, tasty, and cooked to perfection! The staff was also very warm and friendly. We ate a lot of wonderful food during our time in Edinburgh, but this had to be our favorite meal from our trip! Would highly recommend!

Beautifully authentic Turkish Restaurant in Haymarket. Conveniently located between Lothian Road and Haymarket Terrace. The service was excellent. We shared the cold meze and then for main we had the grilled lamb and chicken. The cold meze sharer was well presented, the bread so soft and all the various “dips” delicious. The spicy one was especially delicious. The chicken well marinated and well cooked. Hearty portion sizes. We had a Turkish coffee to finish and it were kindly given a piece of baklava and rose Turkish delight to accompany which were both a very sweet and tasty way to finish off our dining experience with Rodi. Highly recommend and we will be back.

We came to Rodi Restaurant with friends after the conference today and we were extremely satisfied. Food, desserts, ayrans and customer satisfaction were excellent. Thank you for everything. We are thinking of coming again.

Tasty Mediterranean dishes served promptly by friendly staff. Had for dinner, a kabob-style dish and a stew and both were very good, the portions are hearty. The place isn't large but it's clean and well-decorated. The restaurant is located in the Haymarket area, convenient to some nearby hotels and not far from the center of Edinburgh.

There is lots of choice for vegetarians, and I was completely delighted by the freshness of the veg used in my salad and other menu items. Everything was beautifully seasoned, and this was literally one of the very best meals I've had during the pandemic.

We ordered a Takeaway which arrived on time, however it was cold and tasteless. We do not live far away from this place only 10 mins. The portion sizes were disappointingly small. A bit overpriced for 2 main courses & some olives = £40 approx.

Possibly one of the best Turkish restaurants in Edinburgh. Every dish I have had has had an excellent depth of flavour, excellently balanced and generously portioned. This restaurant deserves to be much better known than it currently is.

The food, incredible - i had halloumi with Garlic rice, wow! Ordered some Turkish delight for dessert and they chucked a couple of bits of Baklava in too, so delicious - next time I'll definitely order both :)! The owner was the only one in when I was there, the banter was great and genuinely caring, asking how business was going etc.

Visited this gem a couple of weeks ago with my daughter. Despite very recent lockdown restrictions we were able to order a delicious meal to take away just across the road from our hotel. A lovely friendly couple welcomed us and let us shelter from the rain (socially distanced of course) while we ordered and waited for the food to be freshly cooked. So much choice we ordered a starter an main course each...it all so good. Especially loved the lamb, it was all succulent and full of flavour. Only regret is that we didn’t order dessert! One of the best things about weekends away are discovering little gems like this. Thank you so much for an amazing meal on a brilliant weekend.

I came back here many times and each time was delighted with the incredible food and the hospitality of the owners. I love the lamb that is roasted over the charcoal fire and the fresh baked bread, but everything I’ve had here is excellent.

Good but too expensive. The quality of the food is great. Both the lamb and chicken were great but with rice and salad things are rather dry and only a mint and yogurt sauce provided.Three carry out dishes was over £40.00. With the corona virus issue this is unrealistic for a carry out going forward.They need to look at this ASAP or they will not be there much longer.

Visited this restaurant tonight with my mum for an early Mother’s Day meal. I couldn’t fault this place in any way, the hummus & red pepper starter and Turkish bread was lovely and the mains (lamb & chicken) didn’t disappoint. The service really topped the meal off, the gentleman who served us (sorry, didn’t catch your name!) was so attentive & hospitable, things such as Remembering and using my mums name (from the reservation) whenever he came to the table. You could tell this was a family run restaurant with staff who genuinely love what they do. Please, please support small businesses like this, the service & food is 10x that of what you usually find in chain restaurants and the prices were extremely reasonable!!We will definitely return if we are back in Edinburgh, thank you!

Nunca tuve comida turca antes. El entrante de falafel con humus casero fue genial. El plato principal consistía en un pollo y cordero en salsa de tomate con champiñones, que también era bueno. We booked a large table for a 60th birthday. The staff were great to deal with when planning the meal. The food was fabulous and it just kept coming. Great for vegetarians and meat lovers and they dealt with food intolerances really well. Loved it!

Visita por primera vez a este restaurante y en esta visita sin duda volveremos. Aunque era un poco tranquilo para un sábado por la noche, el servicio y la comida eran de primera clase. Todos los entrantes dieron en el blanco, pero los champiñones eran realmente sabrosos. Los platos principales también eran bastante buenos, la cazuela de pollo era especialmente sabrosa, una leve queja sería que no estaba particularmente caliente, quizás otros 5 minutos en el horno la próxima vez. En general, una familia muy satisfecha y la factura era bastante razonable también. Volveremos pronto, ¡espero que esté un poco más ocupado la próxima vez!

Lovely Restuarant the food was made fresh from our order which I loved the Turkish lady that cooked it was lovey and the the food was delicious it was fairly quiet as it was a Wednesday night . Loved the Turkish dips it is out of the city centre but well worth the visit the Turkish bread was brilliant. I will definitely be back to try more of their excellent food . Lynn and Gale xx

After a long drive and a lot of walking around Edingburgh on a Sunday, we were looking forward to a nice and delicious meal. Both my husband and I are big fans of Turkish cuisine and have visited several Turkish restaurants around the world and unfortunately this would be at the very bottom of the list.

Well I found this little gem when organising my work Christmas night out for 30 people. Great value for money, 3 excellent courses and very organised. All fresh food and the communication leading up to the meal was spot on. Thank you to the kitchen staff (for the food and dancing at the end) and to Adrienne for organising things, made us feel so welcome. Highly recommended.

Super heerlijk, informeel, heel aardige bediening. Eigenaar kwam bij ons aan tafel, kregen extra voorgerecht en zelfs nog een extra dessert van het huis omdat ik jarig was.

I visited Rodi for a meal in October as it was recommended. There were 4 of us eating 3 having starters and mains and one child having mains only. The starters were a and child's main little slow but we were talking so it was ok. The first 2 main courses were slow to arrive, maybe 10 minutes after the starters were cleared but we had almost finished before the 3rd persons main dish was served. The food was adequate but nothing special. Seeing other reviews I wonder if we were just unlucky and arrived on a bad day.

After a long time, I enjoyed the real charcoal grill and exceptionally good meat.I am very particular about the taste and normally difficult to get my appetite satisfied, however this restaurant I didn’t have any objections and it was served brilliantly, their chilly sauce was awesome. Highly recommended. Especially Lamb shish was the best one

Our family of 6 enjoyed 3 Kodi Specials plus some Rioja Red Wine. The food was absolutely flawless and so was the service. For dessert we also had Baklava and mint tea. This is a family run business and the chef also greets and serves you.

Dined at Rodi tonight with my family. We chose it based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and service was great. We ordered three Rodi Specials for our party of six and they were plentiful. If you love food prepared with love and tons of flavor, this place is for you.

We had the Rodi Special for two which was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection by the lovely Kader, we tried the Turkish red wine which was also very good, friendly service good atmosphere we will certainly be visiting again soon

Had the best dinner last night at this restaurant. My family and I weren’t sure what to order and the waitress/chef were extremely lovely and helpful. Throughout the night they checked on us and were very friendly, would definitely recommend checking this place out!
