Estábamos buscando un restaurante turco o libanés para comer durante nuestra estancia en Edimburgo y cuando caminamos a nuestra primera opción había cerrado. Rápidamente tuvimos un vistazo rápido en trip advisor y tomamos nuestra decisión. Tuvimos un entrante de hummus y berenjena con el pan plano más sabroso. Pedimos recomendaciones para las principales que eran pollo y kebabs mixtos servidos con arroz, ensalada, un poco de cebolla a la parrilla y hongos, junto con un poco de cebolla cocida en rodajas en una salsa encantadora. Increíble noche para celebrar nuestro 25 aniversario de boda! La comida era increíble y el personal era atento, educado y conocedor tanto de la comida como de las bebidas para acompañar la comida. Gracias especiales a Nitin, Caitlin y Michael que nos cuidaron e hicieron nuestra celebración especial. También gracias a los chefs y el equipo detrás de escena!

La comida es de primera clase. Restaurante íntimo que supera su peso, gran servicio y en general una experiencia que no te puedes perder si estás en Edimburgo.

Visited here on Xmas Eve. Felt that the staff couldn’t be bothered having you there. My husband ordered the full breakfast and the haggis and black pudding on his plate were about the thickness of a piece of card. Ordered fresh juices, and they were more water than juice. No taste at all. Our hot drinks were on the counter for over ten minutes, but the staff kept walking past them. I ended up going over and taking them myself. Won’t go there again.

Absolutely lovely little coffee shop, waited a little while as they had forgotten about our order but was given two custard tarts by way of apology. Coffee and tarts were beautiful. Will definitely be back.

Great place, fresh, local, sustainable, very different atmosphere, everything really tasty, staff were great. What’s not to like?

Visitamos este lugar hace un par de años cuando estaba explotando en Instagram y nos quedamos bastante decepcionados. La comida servida era tibia y en general bastante promedio, dado la cantidad de lugares increíbles que hay en Morningside pensamos que este estaba verdaderamente sobrevalorado. Para añadir a la experiencia nos dimos cuenta de que los cubiertos no se habían lavado correctamente, los servilleteros y portamenús tenían sucias servilletas usadas rellenas en ellos, el personal claramente demasiado preocupado por dar la vuelta a tantas mesas como pudieran y demasiado ocupado para prestar atención a los detalles. Sin embargo, han pasado varios años y decidimos intentarlo de nuevo, dadas todas las críticas positivas. Tristemente, nada ha cambiado. La comida sigue siendo bastante común y hay un montón de lugares, incluso los pequeños cafés sin pretensiones cerca que sirven mejor comida. Me and my wife wandered in after a meal down the road, we are glad we did! The decor was lovely, the staff attentive and the drinks flowed. The service was good, table only, due to restrictions but this wasn't an issue. The young gent serving us was chatty, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a mixture or cocktails and beers, all great, the prices are also reasonable. Would recommend, a little out of the way but worth a visit!

Our favourite shop in the area! Really amazing gelato with lots of different flavours available. Lovely staff and reasonable prices

We've been to groats before when it was a pop-up, we were over the moon when it found a permanent home, then not so happy when they announced they were moving. On that note, we had to go back and try it again! Famous for it's porridge, we went for one porridge and one French toast. Two refillable coffees to wash it down. The French toast was perfect, thick sliced and perfectly cooked. When you do something so good, keep doing it - this is groats all over. Will be looking out for when they next find a home.

What a great wee place . Such friendly service , best bacon roll I have had in a while and great coffee . Open early and Dog friendly too .
