2 minute walk from Primark in the centre. Their menu has been well thought out showcasing the best local produce. We had braised Forfar lamb with broccoli, crispy chickpeas & radish & the heirloom tomato veloute with a black olive puff and parmesan crisp, loved the parmesan crisp. For mains we enjoyed the North Sea coley with butternut squash, kale, pumpkin seeds & hazelnut dressing & chicken supreme with torched sweetcorn, crispy polenta & pickled jalapeños. To finish, we shared a plum & walnut clafoutis with salted caramel ice cream. The food was delicious & beautifully presented. Great selection of cocktails.

I had went to Agacan Turkish restaurant on perth road this evening to have a meal with a couple of friends and didn’t think I would need a reservation and could just take walk-ins only to be told they can give me and my friends 50 mins for a meal. Seriously, 50 minutes for a meal for a couple of people. I had spoken to the lady at the front desk about having only 50 minutes to eat our meal to which she said it hasn’t got nothing to do with them which is very strange as she is the manager in charge. Staff were being really rude and telling me to go away abruptly. VERY RUDE AND WILL NOT BE BACK ! no customers service at all

Great Food and Amazing Experience! Had an awesome time here! The food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. One tip - if you’re a fan of spice, be sure to let them know when you order. They’ll make it extra spicy if that’s your thing! Overall, a great spot for flavorful meals and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

We booked a table here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary whilst we were staying at the adjacent suites. The restaurant is in a converted mill building and very spacious and modern in design. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were quickly seated . When discussing the menu staff went to great lengths to say how good certain dishes were . We decided to order the roast dinner and the chicken and ham pie. It was a bit of a wait for the meal especially when there was only one other table occupied. When the meal arrived it proved to be disappointing , the beef in the roast dinner was very chewy , the pie was mainly ruff puff pastry and little filings and the turnips served with both meals were so solid you could not stick a fork into them and they were inedible . When we raised this with the staff one said they were onions? and the other said oh sorry that's a shame I will raise it with the chef. We decided to order dessert my husband ordered a sticky toffee pudding which was good , and I ordered a trifle panacotta . Turned out to be a panacotta , with jelly on the bottom and sprinkles on the top. More like a school pudding than a two rosette restaurant meal . The other annoying thing was the repetitive "lift" music being played loudly throughout the evening. Cost nearly £80 for a bread & oil starter for 1, 2 courses and 2 small glasses of wine. I think the restaurant thinks it is better than it actually is.

The Gretel has recently been reopened by new management who, I understand, used to run The Fleece in Selkirk. My husband and I went for lunch much in a Saturday for our wedding anniversary. The staff were really welcoming as soon as we walked in. The tables are spaced out nicely and the dining room area is attractive. The menu was interesting and it took us a while to decide what to have. In the meantime I had a glass of wine and my husband had a pint of the IPA which he said was very good. In the end we decided on the baked goats cheese with chilli marmalade and sliced baguette and the haggis Bon Bon’s for starters. Main courses were gressingham duck breast with blackberry sauce and haddock and chips. Both were again lovely. We finically decided on creme brûlée and sticky toffee pudding to complete our meal. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back one evening for cocktails.

Weird choices. Strangely spiced vegetarian salads, very expensive Panini and scones £4.60. Ridiculously priced seasonal drinks £7.50 and upwards. Couldn't find one thing I actually wanted to eat and I was hungry. Very expensive and it no vibe at all.

Me fui hambriento y extremadamente decepcionado. El establecimiento estaba desordenado, así como el baño. Obviamente dirigido por personas que simplemente no les importa. Fue una estafa para comida de muy mala calidad. Nunca más & vergüenza en ti.
