Quería algo diferente para mi cena de Navidad de este año, así que todos optamos por una comida india para llevar de Jahangir, que había pedido la semana anterior. El personal era fantástico, desde tomar mi pedido hasta suministrar mi comida. Eran gente encantadora, y las porciones eran generosas — todavía quedaba mucho para recalentar al día siguiente. ¿Haré esto de nuevo el año que viene? ¡Por supuesto! Jahangir debe ser el mejor lugar para el curry en Dundee. Tampoco era muy caro, y nos dieron una botella de vino sin cargo adicional, que cayó bien. Todo lo que puedo decir es que a todos en nuestro grupo de siete les encantó, y estoy seguro de que regresarán para llevar a lo largo de 2025 y más allá. Ordered a table for Xmas day on arrival we were told we had to wait on our table to get ready then took approxamtly 40 mins for our starter s that I has to ask for the food was terrible my daughter too ill halfway through all food was un eatable there was a lady at table next ro us and her chicken was really had and she sent it back then her dessert was still frozen she sent that back too our dessert was pre booked (chocolate cake ) we were handed some orange thing and told that was all they had left when I went to book was told I couldn't order till it was paid so I paid the price per person just to be told that on Xmas I still had a service charge of £16 to pay for them being open and that it was cash only when booking a Xmas meal but didn't have cash only card so he said OK then gave lady in trouble for getting card machine at till and put that one back and get the other card machine I got 1 refund for my daughters methinks review is based on the 5 people at my table and what the other table said

The food was nice overall, especially the chicken tikka and bhuna lamb, which were good. However, the biryani was disappointing—it didn’t resemble the biryani I know at all. If the restaurant wants to improve, it’s critical to revisit what they’re calling biryani and make adjustments.

Great Food and Amazing Experience! Had an awesome time here! The food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. One tip - if you’re a fan of spice, be sure to let them know when you order. They’ll make it extra spicy if that’s your thing! Overall, a great spot for flavorful meals and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Ordered a takeaway tonight Wednesday thinking it would be quiet disaster.6.15 ordered our usual meal 6.30 had to phone them up to get confirmation our meal was accepted never got an email back,7.30 had to phone again to see when our meal was coming 8.05 meal arrives cold wrong starter nan bread was flat and cold overall very poor half went in the bin

Recogí un aperitivo de gambas rey de ajo, tandoori parrilla mixta £ 32 odd, solo 5 minutos para llegar a casa, absolutamente asqueado, las gambas estaban frías y simplemente se fueron a papilla cuando se mordió, parrilla mixta era como si acababa de ser microondas y espolvoreado con algún tipo de polvo para tratar de darle un poco de sabor, pero era absolutamente horrible, no volverá, me dijeron que se hizo cargo de hace un par de meses. We ate here last night and it was phenomenal! We had the 1/2 tandoori chicken, garlic pilau, chilli pilau, garlic and plain naan, onion bahjees, chicken pakoras. The onion chutney they give you with poppadoms while you wait is addictive, the tandoori chicken was exquisite as was the rice, and the sauce was the tandoori sauce was perfection. My small critique was that the pakoras were a bit bland, they came with brilliant dipping sauces but on there own there wasnt much more flavour than chicken and batter (not sure if they are supposed to be plain or just an off night), also the bottles of beer weren't very cold. But we will still definitely be back!

Took half an hour from sitting down to get our order taken, then another 40 minutes for the food to arrive (in the mean time, two tables sat after us had ordered and been served) - staff seemed totally oblivious to this and too quick to pass the buck rather than take an order themselves. Food itself was fine but nothing special and certainly not worth waiting that length of time for. Cracking koi pond though.

ordered Meal Deal for 1 which was poppadum, chicken pakora, rice and lamb Rogan Josh, you also get dip, salad and onion chutney included in meal deal... also ordered a Lamb Kadie.. delivered within the hour...Unpacked and we have 3 poppadum to nibble on, enough of pakora for 2 to have a few each. Main course tubs were packed, flavours were great, lamb was amazingly soft, rice doubled in size when you dish it up, more than enough to feed 2 people with some left over as a snack the next day (do put in any requests in the notes, they do follow them)... well worth the the price...

Meals for 3 tonight were excellent. Lovely food. Served very quickly by lovely staff who take time to make sure everything is good.

Siempre quise visitar y cuando los amigos de Londres estaban en Dundee era la oportunidad perfecta. Aunque visitamos un lunes por la noche que era tranquilo el servicio era perfecto y muy atento. Todos los entrantes, Mains y guarniciones fueron disfrutados por todos. Sin duda recomendaría y no puedo esperar para volver.

Unfortunately, we waited 1 hour 20 minutes for the food! We ordered biryani, but it didn't arrive! The servers just hung around empty-handed, despite our reminders. 3 servers including a woman were very unfriendly and rude! We left. Never again!

Very good food, although they mixed up a little on my order by giving Chicken instead of Lamb so I had to wait a bit longer for it but mistakes happen...well done Chef, delicious !

One star is being generous. Absolutely dreadful, overpriced, bland food (Chicken Tikka Masala). You couldn't pay me to eat there again.

Girlfriend took me out in her old hometown and knows I am fussy (I spent a lot of time in India and love my food). This place did not disappoint. I had read the menus and reviews prior to coming (and one 1 star review - quite funny - had me ordering a mushroom puri out of curiousness - it was tasty although the large helping filled me a bit ahead of my main) I'd studied the menus beforehand but there was a monthly special "Lime Balti" which sounded interesting and we both actually settled on - One Lamb & One Chicken, they were excellent. Sides of "Ginger Rice, Saag Panneer, and a Garlic Nan.

My wife and I visited the other night whilst out in Dundee. Managed to get a table at short notice which was appreciated. This is one of Dundee’s longest standing Indian restaurants I think. Traditional and yet still excellent. Good choice of food which was promptly served. Good quality and plenty of it. Good value for money too.

Normally I would have nothing but praise for this restaurant, but not on this occasion. It may have been because that it was busy, (after winning an award?), but that should not be an excuse. The welcome and friendliness of the staff remains good. The portion size of some of the dishes was less than previously served. As a starter the Prawn Cocktail looked acceptable but was lacking in taste. The 'sauce' that came with the Nawab Biriyani was smaller and had less/smaller pieces of chicken in it. The rest of the meal was acceptable but not the usual 'outstanding' cuisine. When it came to paying, it's always best to scrutinise the the bill. The bottle of wine we had had been changed and was £10 dearer. This was corrected on the first attempt. What was not, was the bottle of red wine that was on the bill. We did not have red wine. It took two complaints to have this removed. The last thing was that, although there were two automatic soap dispensers in the toilets, along with a manual pump one, all three were empty. Not acceptable. I will return in the future, but if this standard is to be the norm, it may be my last.

Found this place by accident but ended up having a lovely meal in a very friendly restaurant. The food was superb and we will definitely be back.

Been using the Jahangir for a long time now,but I was so very disappointed tonight(March 17th),the curry was bland more tomatoes than anything,& the Peshawari naan was 1 of the worst I'd had,no taste just a sprinkle of coconut on the top it will be a long time before I come back Sorry

We visited Jahangir’s Dundee for the first time last week. Hands down the best Indian I think I’ve ever had. The portion sizes were perfect, my house Thalia was phenomenal! And the service was really good! My only comment on service would be there was either too much or too little, either multiple people trying to take a food or drink order and no check back. Otherwise I cannot fault this place at all!!!

Went there for the first time for ordering a takeaway. Really nice vibe and atmosphere, with Indian music in background. The staff is really welcoming and makes you feel like at place. The food was top quality. Loved the butter chicken and the butter Naan. Would go again 👍

On Tuesday night, Jahangir restaurant was fairly busy as it should be. Best Indian in Dundee. Very Happy to know that, young lad our neighbour Safatt likes dundee very much, welcoming guy with smile 😄 However, nice atmosphere , incredible food as always.

It was like a blast from the past. Last ate here over 20 years ago on a visit back to Dundee. Same homely atmosphere and fantastic service. Food was excellent just as I remembered it

Fantastic place to eat and enjoy an evening out. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is lovely. You feel very welcome and looked after.

Busy with Christmas trade and we turned up without a booking. They still did their best to seat us as soon as they could which we were really grateful for.

We regularly come here for our lunch when visiting Dundee. The lunch menu is excellent value for money. The food is well cooked, tasty and well presented. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended 👌

This has been our "go to" restaurant/takeaway for 20 years. It has changed hands recently and in our opinion the new staff aren't as competent or friendly as the previous staff. Waiting staff didn't understand us when we ordered, we had to repeat ourselves and ended up pointing at the menu, quite an awkward interaction. Whilst eating our meal, staff made inappropriate sexual comments in conversation with us which was creepy and made us feel quite uncomfortable. We laughed it off at the time not wanting to cause a scene. The same member of staff added a tip to our final bill which we wouldn't have left. The food isn't as good, or plentiful, either - chicken pakoras are smaller, staff ignore special cooking requests and the last naan bread we had was pale, doughy and much smaller. Although the restaurant looks better with the window shutters open the atmosphere is flat. This isn't a hasty response to one visit, we have had some takeaway meals, and have dined in 3 times, since it changed hands. Don't think we will be hurrying back unfortunately.

I sincerely hope the staff of this restaurant scale up their hospitality skills & refrain from bumping off people from their table who are already half way through their meals to other other table for any reason whatsoever. Further, lack of communication skills from the member of staff adds up to the misery. Hope Jahangir restaurant takes this review in a true positive spirit. BW

The food is always beautiful here and today was no different. I have Chicken tikka and a naan, the whole family loved every bite, highly recommended!

Love the tandoori, it tastes like eating actual Indian tandoori. It is very hard to find authentic Indian tastes in the UK but Jahagir has that amazing taste.

Lovely meal here last night. My husband and I had a curry each, shared a rice and a garlic naan. Plenty of rice for 2 and the naan was huge! Highly recommend.

We have dined in many times and never had a bad experience. Tonight, we decided to have a delivery, it was excellent, I had the mixed grill and hubby had lamb biryani, be back soon to dine in.

We went in had to wait a wee while to get served although it was lunchtime and the restaurant was quiet, we got two pints of lager, mine didn't taste right but they were quick enough to change it. We absolutely loved our curries, the garlic nans were delicious. Overall for our express lunch menu it was delicious would thoroughly recommend. 😋

Went for a dinner with friends. The Kurma is delicious, the staff are extremely friendly and kind, it feels like you are sitting down in a family atmosphere. The naan was so delicious and enormous as well, it was bigger than my head! I was debating to have 2 naan each but I’m glad I didn’t order them because my stomach was about to burst with good food by the time we left! It seems a little bit expensive when you look at the menu, but the portion sizes are enormous and you are guaranteed to be left full, so it’s well worth it.

One of the best Indian meals we have had. Would recommend the half a tandoori chicken. Staff friendly and attentive. My only comment would be that the lighting was too bright and would benefit from a more ambient atmosphere. Will not put us off returning though. Thank you

Waited 10 mins at front as nobody there . Finally went to kitchen and got somebody. Business lunch finished at 14.30 . We had to pay Al a carte prices . Ordered chicken pakora & vegetable pakora . My partner ordered chicken Tula masala & pilau rice . I ordered chicken Tim’s masala with Nan bread . Very very small portions for price . And we had to wait 30mins between starter and main . And to make matters worse there was no taste to the chicken tikka masala. St Andrews is ten times better. Will certainly not use this place again . Complete waste of money. Service ridiculous. Be warned people. Go elsewhere for better service & quality food . Your paying for it .

just experienced what must be one of the best priced and tastiest lunches have had in Dundee. great value 2 course special lunch menu. Nadia our waitress is very attentive without being OTT and does seem to care about her customers. restaurant i s very clean tables feel well spaced out and feels safe.

Visited last night after seeing the restaurant advertised in Sleeperz hotel at check in. Restaurant is modern, clean, welcoming and tables are well spaced. Menu is varied and well priced. The food was plentiful and tasty. Staff worked hard and cleaning measures were very good.We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and whilst chatting to the lady at reception while waiting for our friend’s return from the cloakroom, she happened to ask where we were staying in Dundee. When we said the name of our hotel she advised that they had an agreement with the hotel for a 15% discount and promptly worked out what our reduction would have been then refunded us the cash! We were amazed and very grateful as the lady need not have mentioned this fact at all. So on top of providing excellent food in plentiful portions with great service, Jahangir are to be highly recommended for their honest staff. All in all a great experience.

Overall the food was excellent as usual, no complaints there at all. However from the outset the service was a bit rushed. We had booked for 7pm and were asked to sit in the waiting area when we arrived. We waited for about 15 minutes and then were shown to the table. The food came out very quickly which was excellent, but the servers kept coming over and asking us if we had finished. I was having a break to let my food digest a bit and a server had come over for the third time to ask if I was finished so I just said yes! I had still had rice to eat and half a portion of curry but I couldn’t be bothered with the constant hassle! Someone also took my partner’s beer away despite there being some left in it. There were also 3 waitresses just hanging around chatting which was quite off-putting.Finally, while we were sitting in the restaurant I received an email saying that I had been marked as a no-show… we were definitely there!Overall 5 stars for the food but the service let it down this time unfortunately.

Food was fresh and delicious, there was a variety of dishes for all the family to enjoy. Service was amazing, staff are lovely and go above and beyond to keep everyone happy! Would definitely visit again.

Great food. My son in law order came up to £122. The gentleman who answered the phone gave me 2 complimentary wine. Great service and perfect timing.

The menu is a bit too confusing, too many styles of dishes with similar ingredients which made ordering a bit hard. The rice came on the plates rather than independently which is different. The dishes were ok , very tasty and original but not great. The prices are a bit high for the location. We are well as a family and enjoyed the experience. The garlic naans were fabulous!!

This was our first visit to this Indian and we went based on favourable reviews. We went on a Thursday evening having placed a reservation. Unfortunately the restaurant was extremely quiet with no ambience and wondering if trade is falling. Cannot complain about the food and service as both were good, but would be hesitant to return if it were as quiet again

First visit here & wasn't disappointed!!We had the thali platter which all tasted grear but for me the punjabi masala was favourite! Even the chapatis were fresh and tasty- not just an after thought.Staff were friendly and helpfuk. Partner only ever has korma but they offered to do all of thevcurries in the platter mild and it's best Indian meal he has had. Having sorbet was just sheer greed but really tastyCan't wait to go back! There are still social distancing measures in place and it felt very safe but equally rekaxed atmosphere. Perspex is subtle and there are auto hand sanitisers plus a one way system.

Food was as good as always, service also as good as always. But prices have really shot up!I know that this sector has been impacted by covid lockdown, but these increases are totally out of proportion!Has certainly put me right off returning, and that's a shame.So, yes, go and enjoy the food - but make sure you properly check out the prices before ordering. Your 'old favourites ' are likely to hurt your wallet!

We used to always go to the Gulistan in B/Ferry but this restaurant has definitely overtaken there, food again was brilliant. The food is always hot and salad for starters comes individually packed and is lovely and fresh. The pakoras this evening had obviously just been made and were delicious.I would recommend this restaurant for food and customer service.

Not up to usual standard. Starters cold and onion rings awful. Main ok but naan not as hot as should have been. We order every week and this has been the worst so far.

Visited the Jahangir with family. Very welcoming, and pleasant surroundings. We had various curry’s. I had Chicken Tikka Jeera, which was amazing. The other curries were also excellent. Can’t wait to return.

Fui a comer el martes por la noche con mi esposa y mis hijos. El servicio fue fantástico y la comida aún mejor. El mejor restaurante indio de Dundee sin duda alguna. Puede ser un poco más caro que otros restaurantes, pero la calidad brilla y vale la pena. Con el 30% de descuento teníamos 50 años, pero teníamos 2 rondas de refrescos y extras como popadoms y naan de cebolla y ajo. Volveremos y definitivamente lo recomiendo.

Ha sido dos veces en las últimas semanas y en ambas ocasiones nos ha encantado la comida. Curry muy sabroso y varios panes naan diferentes, todos muy buenos y de un tamaño decente.El personal es servicial y agradable (aparte de la señora muy baja que nunca parece sonreír y se ve de mal humor todo el tiempo).Mesas bien dispuestas y baños muy limpios y modernos.Sin duda volveremos.

Recomendado por un taxista, visitamos este restaurante en nuestra última noche en Dundee con amigos. La comida era de primera calidad. El personal y la decoración también eran de muy alto nivel. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra comida y apreciamos el personal amable y servicial. Muy recomendable

Mi cuñada me llevó aquí por mi cumpleaños. Primera vez para mi. La comida estaba caliente, deliciosa y tuvimos el mejor servicio.

Tuvimos una comida familiar fantástica aquí para la hora del almuerzo. Gran servicio, camarero divertido e ingenioso. Personal muy atento. La comida fue hermosa, muy fresca y sabrosa. Fantástico con los niños y también tienen un excelente menú para niños. ???? ¿A los niños también les encantó el estanque de peces? Aquí de vacaciones, pero definitivamente regresaría de nuevo.
