The Barrels in Dundee City

Ordered drinks before food, expected our drinks straight away,we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, We did ask for them but we're told to wait for others to get there meals ?? Only 3 tables were on so not busy.. Only one staff member doing everything which didn't work. It's sad because the food is good but the waiting is so annoying, More staff required

Brilliant Steak Pie as usual, although I asked for mine without pastry. ) that dry empty “ Pastry “ has no place on anything. You can’t even cut it without it disintegrating. And thats before it’s put in a closed container and steamed with the heat from the rest of the meal. It was soggy and flat. Everything else though was delicious. Great veg. Brilliant customer service. Food hot and fresh. They had ran out of something and took the time to call. Highly recommended.

Food is exceptional. Got a bit of a variety as we had never ordered from here before. every part was fantastic. Delay was driver issue so cant blame the Barrels for it. Phoned up and chef was really friendly and helpful. Will order again

Don’t often go out of my way to review but was sensational. I have been a few times to eat here in person and it’s great so when I saw it on here and I wanted comfort food I had to try it. Food was piping hot and I couldn’t stop smiling eating this.

Sadly not a good delivery tonight was missing Sticky toffee pudding , Custard , blaggis bon bons and then to top it off the burger that did arrive was very burnt and not eatable:(. Shame because last few orders have been great!…..

food was good as always, however last time I ordered the driver forgot to bring our ice cream and juice it was forgotten. I was told on the phone next time I order to mention it and I would get them with the next order, so I mentioned it with this order and never received the extra 2 ice creams or 2 juices.

Fast delivery. Food was hot . Definitely use again

Food was great. Was missing biscoff cheese cake but was given an extra Sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend and will order again :-)

Went with my wife and son today to celebrate my sons birthday and really wished I hadn't. There was only three other people in the pub besides us and we were the only ones ordering food. Ordered three starters which all arrived on one plate - never seen that before in my life but OK, main meals were OK Ordered Desserts and after waiting 45 mins were told sorry we're now overrun with just eat and deliveroo orders. So you just ignore orders from people already sat spending money in the pub? Ruined celebration, two courses for three people over the course of two hours and even when we left there were no other customers eating and the guy working (Franky) just gave me a shrug of the shoulders and said 'nothing I can do' Customer service is a disgrace.

I love the barrels food , but unfortunately today the food was cold. It was missing mushroom and tomato and the chips were cold and soggy being placed under the gammon. They did add in 2 fried eggs which was nice but they also were cold

Food never arrived. I dont think just eat refund delivery fees or service chargers so they are still making moneym The bar staff said there was nothing she could do as they rely on just eat delivery drivers. Had to order from somewhere else. Not good

Very disappointed ordered cheese burger ni cheese onion rings were overcooked stinking along wae dried up chips called them tried to blame just eat when I'm fact it's obviously the chefs fault and didn't want to give me another meal disgusted is not the word this place use to be good terribe

Very disappointed with the customer service. I ordered a Too good to go bag before Nightshift. I went during the allocated time spot given. I was told no food was ready and I would.have to wait another 20 minutes which would have made me over the allocated time and also late for work. I explained and asked if there was anything. Told no. Contacted The Barrels and was told they would get back to me. I'm still waiting over a week later.

The food is always really good and just as good today

Waited ages for toasty was ok but nothing special . Can of Coke Zero £3 crazy price . Won’t be back

Chicken dinner ordered, couldn’t touch the chicken as so dry and hard, barely any gravy making it even drier. Vegetables nice as was the mash but roast potatoes were clearly Aunt Bessie’s frozen ones (or a cheaper brand) and were solid after being deep fried. Usually food is nice but will not be ordering this again

I haven't been in The Barrels (formerly The Three Barrels) for over 20+ years it has changed beyond recognition, but it's still a must visit for good food and drinks

would have been better with the vegetables separately like I'd asked but great as ever

The chilli cheese and chips were really good but I actually fancied the Cajun pasta that hasn’t been on the menu for a little while. Hopefully it is back soon

mixed grill was supposed to have medium rare steak but unfortunately like the gammon and chicken had been very overcooked. All the meat was dry and tough.

This is our 2nd time ordering from here and both times have been great food has been fantastic and even thomit was 10 minutes late on the 2nd time we received notification to say it was going to be late and food arrived hot on both time when ordered so would highly recommend keep up the good work.

I can’t believe how lovely my Mince and Chips were. I love ordering from here. I’ve never been let down. Food is fabulous. It’s great value for money. My deliveries from here are always hot and fresh. Today I was blown away by the freshness of my meal. It was like someone walked straight out of their kitchen into mine. The delivery guy was lovely and clearly an animal lover. I forgot to get his name. Anyway Hat’s Off Barrels 🙂

Ordered a beer at £4.10 and they charged £5. They have a minimum of £5 for contactless. Barmaid pointed to a sign that was unreadable and said card payments have this minimum. It was not a card payment. I am sure this is illegal. Do not fall for their scam

There was very hard bits of steak through the pie other than that the steak pie potatoes and veg was okay. The salt and pepper chicken, some of the chicken was very chewy, the chips weren’t edible very soggy/under cooked. Curry sauce was really nice.

Usually really satisfied from the barrels both sitting in and delivery however tonight the pasta portion was shocking as was the amount of chilli on the chilli topped chips, I also never received the garlic bread with the pasta order. haven’t rated low as the food itself was actually tasty just really small portions for the price being paid

I ordered mac n cheese with chips, choc cake and icecream. The mac was extremly good and very hot, the chips were perfectly crispy. The ice cream was still frozen when it got here. 5/5

Place is split in 2 more of a bar one side and restaurant the other. Had dinner which was decent not a bad price but not the cheapest either.

Even though it was late it was still really hot and tasted great. Highly recommend the steak pie and haggis burger.

Salt & pepper chicken loaded fries with curry sauce were really tasty, would definitely have them again.

Had the Mac and cheese and it was delicious 😋 one of the best Mac and cheese I’ve had from a restaurant, I will order again from here the next time my Mac and cheese craving hits ☺️

The food was dry like it was left out for ages, not freshly cooked. Ordered 2 potato scones and received 3 hash browns so the order was incorrect and it did not taste nice at all. Waste of money and time

Went for lunch .read the xmas menu .says two course 18 pound .we ordered main and sweet .the main came out on a small dinner plate with 1 long bit fish .was gone in two bites .with veg and salad and chips .called over the girl and asked why the plate was so small for 18 pound .she says there half portions .no were on the festive menu does it say half portions . Full size fish chips 13.99 and pudding 5.95 so for extra 2 pound we could have got full size .the portion was enough to feed a 10 year old misleading menu .

Absolutely delicious. As usual piping hot and fresh with enough roast beef and gammon to feed an army. Beautiful and excellent value for money. Can’t fault The Barrels. Highly recommended.

Ordered at 16.20 delivery time 17.20-17.40 arrived after 19.00. Food was okay not not great. Cheese cake had completely melted. Waste of a 5er

The food delivered was very good, unfortunately there was a delay from the original order time. I would still order from this pub again as there was a lot of options available and what I had was good.

Ordered as son has been in hospital for 3 days and needed some decent food. They delivered to the hospital for me, food was delicious and they also gave me a box of biscuits for being at hospital. So kind and thoughtful and mad a sad mum smile for the first time in weeks 💕💕

Came in as a large group of around 25 on our lunch break and was served super smoothly! Great staff and amazing food! Everyone loved it and said how great all the dishes were. Lovely how accommodating they were!

Went in for an early tea so not many people there hence 2 stars for atmosphere. Brilliant to get half portions which is more than enough for us. Service very friendly and helpful and food was delicious. Prices very reasonable

Family meal on a Saturday night. 11 adults, 3 kids. Extensive menu, with options for half portions. The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty. Pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend

We had an 80th Party in the large function suite which was free to hire. Nicola the manager was superb when booking,she answered all our questions and gave good advice about the evening(buffet,dj,drink prices,etc) Bar prices were very competitive especially for a function,they even bought in a particular bottle of spirit as it was the b,day boys favourite tipple.On the night Frankie and staff were friendly and very accomodating,helped out if required and sorted out our buffet etc. The DJ Steve was also excellent set a great atmosphere by getting us all involved.A great selection of requested songs,some karoake if wanted and lots to dance to. The actual venue inc toilets were very clean and tidy,all in all we would definately book The Barrels again and highly recommend its function suite to all. Thank you again Nicola & all the staff who made the night run smoothly👍.

Go to the barrels quite a lot for breakfast/dinner, went yesterday ordered a chilli burger , normally very good, this was like someone fried some mince and added a few jalapeños, it was disgusting, I scraped the mince off(my partner ate it, he eats anything)so had a plain burger, don’t think I will be going back which is a shame as I have always enjoyed the food, I told the waiter about the food and he said he would find out who made it

Came here for food with my partner. I had the pepper steak melt and he had the steak pie. Food was really decent and good portions. Sauce in the pepper steak melt could have been a bit thicker. There was a large family in eating too and whilst I don’t mind family dining, the screeching of the kids and allowing them to jump all over the seats while parents are laughing at and videoing them and having no parental control or giving consideration for other diners is a bit irritating.
