2 minute walk from Primark in the centre. Their menu has been well thought out showcasing the best local produce. We had braised Forfar lamb with broccoli, crispy chickpeas & radish & the heirloom tomato veloute with a black olive puff and parmesan crisp, loved the parmesan crisp. For mains we enjoyed the North Sea coley with butternut squash, kale, pumpkin seeds & hazelnut dressing & chicken supreme with torched sweetcorn, crispy polenta & pickled jalapeños. To finish, we shared a plum & walnut clafoutis with salted caramel ice cream. The food was delicious & beautifully presented. Great selection of cocktails.

Yet another fantastic visit to the Tayberry. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming. We only came in on this occasion for bar bites and drinks and it still feels like a special occasion. We had the canapés, pickles and black pudding - all delicious, the crab canapé in particular was amazing! Would highly recommend - can’t wait to come back and try the tasting menu again.

We were a large group of 10 from different European countries and we had a wonderful time. As the person from Scotland responsible for organising the dinner I wanted to find a restaurant that made delicious food from local ingredients that showcased that I know can be found in Scotland, though not always easily. Tayberry really met the brief. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful from booking and throughout. But what took the experience beyond excellence was the personal attention. One of our number wanted to join us but not to eat because of a medical condition that requires a very specialised diet. That was fine with the restaurant but it was suggested that they should get in touch with the chef to see if something could be made specially to suit. This is indeed what happened, it was a great success eliciting the comment 'I'd like to take the chef home!'. So thank you Tayberry for a lovely evening with wonderful food. As an aside I was delighted there was no cheese surcharge!

We booked today Sunday the 9th of June for lunch. We had a voucher of £50 and we requested the table by the window. We were shown to our table and ordered drinks. We were told of the Sunday special, châteaubriand, we both chose this with starters of steak tartare & fishcakes. We both had wine and I was given a glass of complementary champagne as this was my birthday celebration. Charlotte was front of house and was very warm and welcoming along with chef who would bring dishes out. A fabulous experience. We will definitely be back as 5 star service and food.

I decided upon the 6 course tasting menu which sounded wonderful. The first 2 course were great, it quickly went downhill. I asked the manager for little ice in a cocktail, it was swamped. The 3rd course was bland and had a weird texture. The main course of monkfish, was tough and undercooked , while the vegetables overcooked. The waiter was lack lustre who didn't really have any interest. The spare tableware was not removed, drinks and course were very slow to arrive. I decided to not wait for the main to be recooked. I asked for the bill which I was charged full price while only having half of the tasting menu. I paid and left. Tayberry you let yourself down. I'll not return, a real shame, style over substance.

What a welcome addition to Dundee, our second visit and won’t be our last. We were served fresh baked rolls with hummus this time last time was garlic butter with truffle, delicious. Canapés were divine, black pudding Bon Bon, goats cheese on crostini and pate. We had the chateaubriand one of the best we have had and we like our chateaubriand. Wine was fabulous. Cannot fault the service from all the staff, the staff are a credit to the restaurant. Liam give you credit and all your staff, wishing you all much success. See you soon. X

Newly opened this is a must for fine dining! The service was impeccable and the meal was faultless. The Tayberry was formerly in Broughty Ferry but has reopened on Tay Square in Dundee, a very convenient location for the cultural quarter and tourist attractions. The same high standards are displayed here as they were at BF.

We'd been before to the Tayberry in its previous location in Broughty Ferry but it was way back in 2018 so thought it was time to revisit in its new location in the city centre next door to the Rep theatre. Three of us booked lunch on the last day of February. First impressions were good - nice contemporary decor, quality furnishings and a decent atmosphere. Our server (Melissa I think) was very welcoming and also provided excellent service throughout our meal. We opted for the four course menu with the accompanying suggested wine on the starter and main. The food was great, excellent presentation and a high standard of cooking. The wine pairings were also good though we slightly craved a third glass so would probably just order a bottle next time. Overall, a good experience and definitely one to be repeated, hopefully soon. The new location is very welcome as there are, as yet, not enough fine dining venues in Dundee city centre, so I really hope the Tayberry is successful on this site.

Amazing birthday meal on Valentine's Day. This restaurant in it's new location still has that wow factor. Menu was amazing and made it difficult to choose. Considering it had just opened the staff were keen to get everything just right. Some new staff responded well to assistance from more experienced staff. Menu offers pre theatre set menu and alacart. Something for every occasion. We opted for chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly. The presentation of each dish could not be faulted and as you eat with your eyes, this was awesome. We will definitely recommend and shall return soon.

In its new premises. 6 course menu - inconsistent. Volute excellent, lamb starter very fatty as was the Angus beef main. We had to return 1 as it was about 80% fat. Then they got one desert wrong. I could forgive this, but including ourselves, there were 9 customers in. The manager was very apologetic and offered reductions and some drinks. This was the 2nd day of opening in their new premises, and there is certainly room for improvement.

This is myself and my husband’s favourite restaurant in Dundee and even surrounding areas, the food is innovative and delicious, we’ve never been dissatisfied and we’ve been many many times. I always look forward to any menu changes because I know it’ll be exciting and a real treat to the pallet, the wine pairing is always high quality fine wines. The staff go over and above to be friendly and professional. I cannot fault this restaurant in any way and considering the amount of times we’ve been and never once had a bad experience I’d say that very high praise!

So firstly the staff are lovely and very good at their jobs. My daughter had an accident the morning before our lunch reservation which meant a trip to a&e and they were lovely enough to hold our table for us so we still managed to make lunch which I appreciated so much as family had travelled to go. Secondly they were amazing with my 2 year old, I've never seen her eat so much at once so 10/10 for that. The food was amazing as usual, it made my day there being a dish with mussels and wild garlic my two favourite things, amazing. And lastly the service was brilliant Alannah, Charlotte and Alex took great care of us. One of my favourite restaurants will definitely be back.

We have visited this restaurant several times over the past few years and enjoyed the food presented to us. However today we were extremely disappointed. We were using a voucher for two mains and two glasses of wine which we had received from our daughters as a gift. We decided to include two starters at £15 each. We sat watching for over forty minutes other diners who had arrived after us receive one and two courses before our starters arrived, One of the starters consisted of two small pieces of scallop and less smoked haddock topped with pastry. It was very dry and unappetising. The chicken paupiette was too salty and the skirlie was over cooked. The only veg was two small strips of cabbage. It was not a pleasant experience and cost £ 60. We will not hurry back.

We were looking forward to lunch as we had heard so many positive reviews. The food was excellent. The flavours in the chicken dish were amazing. The only thing that let our experience down was the rather loud waitress who rattled off the "instructions" for our itison voucher rather loudly. In a small restaurant we found her quite overbearing. The food, the important factor, was outstanding 👏

On our arrival the staff were very pleasant,we booked in for lunch on an Itison voucher one course with a glass of wine ,one of our friends dosent drink wine so he asked for a beer instead but that was a no, the waitress did inform us apart from our main course it would be £15 for a starter and again for a pudding, which I thought £15 for soup !!!! rather pricey. When we arrived the restaurant wasn’t that busy but it soon filled up we did have to wait quite a while for our food,I ordered the chicken paupiette which was very tasty,my friend ordered the aged Angus beef which they thoroughly enjoyed and paid an extra £6 for,the menu was very limited,my friend asked for fries don’t do fries ,we then ordered two cheeseboards which were £30 and when it arrived I was shocked to see three slithers of cheese on each plate a few oatcakes and a small sour dough roll, no grapes some chutney and jam very disappointing and definitely not worth the money. The staff were very nice ,but he needs to remember he is not a Michelin star restaurant but he is charging Michelin star prices,it was a one off visit don’t think I would return .

This once amazing little restaurant was superb. Went yesterday for lunch (1330 hours) with an Itison Voucher (£30.00 for 2 mains and 2 house wine). We ordered 1 starter at a cost of £15.00 which was a bit excessive for what was delivered. From arriving to being served our main course was 70 minutes. I ordered the Himalayan Salted Beef (at a supplement) however it was an extremely small portion and the beef was sinewy. Half chewed remains left on my plate 😒. There appeared to be several complaints from people regarding the serving time however the staff were pleasant but just unable to cope with this lunchtime. I believe that the Itison Voucher is a bit of a con to get you there and spend your money on extra overpriced starters and desserts. Guess we will not hurry back.

Lovely, small restaurant: you need to book. On entry, the tables were beautifully set, warm, freshly baked caraway & multi-seeded rolls were served, with whipped garlic and truffle oil butter! I could have licked the butter bowl! I ordered the Tinpot Hut Marlborough white wine: lovely and reasonably priced. For starters I had a beautifully presented seashell, filled with succulent scallops, haddock, caviar and sealed in a pastry lid. Main for me was a chicken paupiette: Chicken rolled with wild mushrooms, herbs and lots of other tasty ingredients. I just had to make room for rhubarb mille feuilles: ginger, orange and rhubarb yummy tastes. To finish, coffee and petit fours is a must: home made tablet - delicious. Great service throughout the night, lovely and leisurely meal. Didn't feel at all rushed or had to wait, even although the restaurant was full.

Lovely place with very friendly staff . Meal was nice and tasty . My only gripe was being charged £3.50 for bottled water when other tables were getting normal tap water. An option would have been good.

Tayberry is good but tables are too small and upstairs has no atmosphere. It's a bit austere, conversations carry and everyone looks awkward. The music was dreich and the room was cool. There's not a lot of character in the place. Pity though.

If you’re vegetarian avoid! I was absolutely stunned when my partners fish course arrived and my fish course was his MINUS THE FISH!! They actually served me his sides as my main!! It was inedible. I’m sure it accompanied the fish beautifully but who wants...

I'll say in advance, this meal wasn't for me but my Mum's birthday. My parents rarely eat out because my Dad has a long list of diet requirements and lethal allergies. Though it took quite a bit of perseverance on my part when I finally...

Unfortunately, with Tripadvisor I have to give one star as opposed to none. I had enjoyed a perfect 70th birthday with a Zoom call with my family whilst enjoying a lovely glass or two of champagne. I expected nothing really because of the lockdown situation,...

As always the Tayberry deliveries, family meal - excellent quality and every dish was spot on. Food was well packaged and survived the 15 mile journey in perfect condition. Don’t hesitate ordering.

I had went to Agacan Turkish restaurant on perth road this evening to have a meal with a couple of friends and didn’t think I would need a reservation and could just take walk-ins only to be told they can give me and my friends 50 mins for a meal. Seriously, 50 minutes for a meal for a couple of people. I had spoken to the lady at the front desk about having only 50 minutes to eat our meal to which she said it hasn’t got nothing to do with them which is very strange as she is the manager in charge. Staff were being really rude and telling me to go away abruptly. VERY RUDE AND WILL NOT BE BACK ! no customers service at all

5 / 5 for service and food Had 2 macaroni and cheese with chips and very reasonable price too. Less than a £5. Only issue was so much cheese it was just too much for my daughter..

Great Food and Amazing Experience! Had an awesome time here! The food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. One tip - if you’re a fan of spice, be sure to let them know when you order. They’ll make it extra spicy if that’s your thing! Overall, a great spot for flavorful meals and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

We booked a table here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary whilst we were staying at the adjacent suites. The restaurant is in a converted mill building and very spacious and modern in design. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were quickly seated . When discussing the menu staff went to great lengths to say how good certain dishes were . We decided to order the roast dinner and the chicken and ham pie. It was a bit of a wait for the meal especially when there was only one other table occupied. When the meal arrived it proved to be disappointing , the beef in the roast dinner was very chewy , the pie was mainly ruff puff pastry and little filings and the turnips served with both meals were so solid you could not stick a fork into them and they were inedible . When we raised this with the staff one said they were onions? and the other said oh sorry that's a shame I will raise it with the chef. We decided to order dessert my husband ordered a sticky toffee pudding which was good , and I ordered a trifle panacotta . Turned out to be a panacotta , with jelly on the bottom and sprinkles on the top. More like a school pudding than a two rosette restaurant meal . The other annoying thing was the repetitive "lift" music being played loudly throughout the evening. Cost nearly £80 for a bread & oil starter for 1, 2 courses and 2 small glasses of wine. I think the restaurant thinks it is better than it actually is.
