Peat Inn

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife, 60-100£
09/03/2019: We visited the Peat Inn for dinner and overnight stay. Booked two room as my parents were with us!
03/03/2019: I have eaten here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. On both occasions I was struck by the competence of the whole operation. The restaurant exists quite apart from most of the fine dining establishments in Scotland currently. The Peat Inn has heritage and staying power, and as a result if food-fads are part of the menu (such as foraged ingredients) it is based entirely on their merits with respect to taste and balance - frankly, this is impressive. The service is friendly and professional, with experienced waiting staff who exhibit a genuine passion for their craft. The food is intelligently composed, and every plate that is presented is perfectly complete. No unnecessary garnish and every component playing a delicious role. Returning to my original point, I am not aware of another restaurant in Scotland which can offer such a reliably enjoyable experience for fine dining, and it is right there above all of the famous Edinburgh names in that regard. It is worth mentioning that when I ate here for lunch we had the set menu which is incredible value at £25 for three courses. I can't wait to go back, or to recommend to friends.

Dining at The Green Park Hotel

Highland, Perth & Kinross
10/02/2019: Stayed at the hotel and so impressed with the dining - delicious 4 course meal served each evening with plenty of choice for all tastes and such generous portions too ! Super breakfasts and lunches too
. . Esta vez por varios días. ¡Es lo mejor!

The Village Inn

Cupar, Fife, 20-30£
17/03/2019: The food here is just delicious.Had their breaded fish plus sweet potato fries with a side salad and included a dressing, some places never add the dressing to a side salad , followed by a cheesecake . Hubby had their steak pie and a friend had their sea bass .Friend said best meal she has had for a long long time. Only one downside is the place could be doing with a fresh lick of paint but as I said the food was delicious .
02/03/2019: Took my mother there today with our family for her 82nd birthday. The staff were very friendly and polite and really looked after us the food was amazing. I’d highly recommend this pub to anybody.

Monachyle Mhor

Trossachs and Teith, Stirling
18/02/2019: If you like cross country hiking, photography, quiet pockets of land beside the loch surrounded by mountains, clean fresh air or relaxing by the open fireplace whilst being served the international wines & the freshest of meals then the Monachyle Mhor is your destination. Fresh killed beef, lamb & pork grown in the surrounding paddocks, on-site chefs. The guest rooms are large, clean, comfortable along with beautifully refurbished bathrooms with lovely inclusions.
18/01/2019: We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and opted for dinner on both. The food was of exceptional quality. The menu was creative and very unique. I was impressed with the chef’s ability to craft modern twists on traditional Scottish fare, such as the Crowdie.

Huntingtower Hotel

Perth City North, Perth & Kinross
26/01/2019: I have visited the restaurant with my Family. The staff was friendly, the food very enjoyable, and a good selection of whiskey. On top of all that, the ambiance of the room fits well with the composition of the menu. I highly recommend this place.
21/01/2019: Staff were excellent and very obliging, courteous and friendly throughout the visit. Special thanks to Christina, Ross and Stuart who couldn't have been more helpful. Ate in the hotel 3 out of 4 nights and standard of food was superb. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm (very cold spell of weather) and the bathroom had a powerful shower - something a lot of hotels lack. Wifi speed was very good.

anchorage restaurant

Kintyre and the Islands, Argyll & Bute, 30-45£
06/02/2019: Had a lovely bar lunch here with my husband. We both had the rustic bread sandwich and soup although not the biggest portion it was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were very attentive and the decor modern and fresh.I don't usually do reviews but thought it was definitely worth mentioning for other visitors looking for an alternative to a cafe.
05/01/2019: Looking for a hot snack, after picnicking all day. A cosy wee find. Excellent service and huge portions. You can sit inside, without paying extra, but it was a cold clear night, and a wander along the Front was perfect

The Scullery

Mid Argyll, Argyll & Bute
01/10/2018: In a hurry to rejoin our coach we were lucky to pass the Scullery and notice their board advertising fresh filled rolls.

The Bell Tree

The Ferry, Dundee City
25/01/2019: Thouroughly enjoy our meal tonight. Usually have Rib of Beef but don't think it's worth the money now since they have changed it to mash instead of sweet potatoe fries. Decided to have chef special Hunters Chicken and it was delicious and well worth the money. Chicken was lovely and moist and loved the sauce.Staff as always very attentive and welcoming.
17/01/2019: Another fabulous lunch with husband and daughter (14th jan) I had courgette and harissa rice skewers as a starter and nut roast wellington as a main- both absolutely gorgeous! The staff were also great! Never disappointed when I visit 😁

Jahangir Tandoori Restaurant

West End, Dundee City
14/03/2019: Could not hear myself due to the noise in this place, there was Christmas nights out but some people just wanted a night out, at our table of 4 we couldn’t have any conversation. I would advise people using a gourmet society card or a taster card to request a itemised bill as on recent visits with a 2 for 1 deal (50% off) my bill for my Wife and I was £72, never in my life have I been in here and been billed for £144 for two without a card deal, this restaurant is more than happy to accept discount cards and the footfall it brings but not happy to honour the cards deal. I parked my car in the restaurant car park and received a debt collection notice today requesting £170, it’s the iceing on the cake, they obviously employ some bonzo to take down car reg numbers, then get details from DVLA and request money, well if this comes up on my credit score hell mend them.
05/03/2019: I have been to Jahangir a few times in the last year and the food has always been good. They have a wide selection of vegetarian curries and there is something to suit everyone. There is also a European style children’s menu.

The Sea Bed Restaurant

Kintyre and the Islands, Argyll & Bute
25/02/2019: Four of us enjoyed a pub lunch in the lounge bar of The Sea Bed (Anchor Hotel) while waiting on the ferry to take us back over to Portavadie. The boys both had the homemade burgers with chunky chips and the girls had scampi served with chunky chips. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was served by a very pleasant waitress. The choices on the menu were excellent. We would all highly recommend a visit to this lovely hotel.
02/02/2019: Not many places open for an evening meal in late January so we were delighted to find this restaurant in the Anchor Hotel. Decor was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. The menu was extensive with special burger nights and steak nights. Large portion of mussels for a starter were delicious, main courses were generous and tasty and the tablet cheesecake a real treat.

22/11/2018: The House of Farnell is situated a few miles outside Brechin, but the post code will work perfectly with your Satnav.
