Afternoon Tea! WOW. It is as good as the pictures. Anna is a lovely host. The setting is beautiful. The food was plentiful and deiicious. We were a party of 18 and everyone was delighted (even the GF guest - she had her own cake stand). Would highly recommend this for a small intimate function or just a gathering of ladies. Great value. Even has parking!

Set in a beautiful location, a lovely friendly pub with great beer! The garden area & bar is fantastic whilst the Hop Chapel bar itself is a great place to relax & catch up with friends. Lovely, friendly staff too! With the added bonus of regular street food vendors (from pizza, to burgers and fish & chips- see website/social media for details), but if no visiting food vendors the pies are tasty too! We walked from the village, but plenty of parking available. Open Thursday- Sunday, dog friendly. A lovely place & we are so lucky to have this in our village!!!!

I came across this small shop & restaurant by accident a few weeks ago (I was doing a course in a nearby barn). The lunch was superb, every bite. A platter of smoked foods of exceptional quality, at a very reasonable price. A real find. I'm not a local, otherwise I'd be a regular. The next door garden centre, where I ate before I found the smokery, was doing a roaring lunch trade with very mediocre food at about the same price. I hope word gets out about this place because it was very quiet and it would be a tragedy if it went out of business because no one knows it's there. I would advise anyone to go.

Visited for Sunday lunch on a wet September day, sitting inside the table was great, room light and airy. We all had the Sirloin roast which was super, thick cut with a tasty gravy made from the black treacle used to baste the joint, delish!! Fresh vegetables perfectly cooked. Portion sizes were good but not so much you can’t see what is on the plate! All 3 desserts went down well too. Would certainly go back. We didn’t take our dog but there was one in the corner table so we might next time.

It was good to see a limited menu - usually a good sign for a restaurant but unfortunately we were rather disappointed. The menu looked good with a range of mainly fish dishes (hence Bait and Plate) but it didn't quite work for us. Monkfish scampi looked good but the taste of the fish was rather overpowered by the coating. Similarly salt and pepper squid taste overpowered by the coating and overcooked (or maybe old oil?). Empanadas tasted nice but frankly the filling could have been anything - no taste of the advertised swordfish. We did enjoy the samphire side and the affogato dessert. We would really like to be able to support this innovative restaurant which has a nice ambience, great decor and great location - but perhaps you are over-complicating good ingredients? Drink prices we found very reasonable.

We have been to eat here many time's over the years, which have been good, this time was not a good experience, Friday 18th October, 4.30pm . The place was not busy when arrived, got seated, ordered food, when food came, it looked good but all was lukewarm, loaded chips very salty so didn’t eat all, tried to get waiting staff attention with no joy staff members standing together chatting(male staff) except for two young girls who seemed to be doing all the work. We did not get checked on which is not good, problem with food could have been corrected. Tips: Most people will be happy to wait an extra 15 mins to have hot food. Staff need to work as team. Check on your customers.

I went to this venue for a silver wedding anniversary celebration on the afternon on 4th May. The venue is really lovely. There's a great sense of history in the dining area of this former schoolhouse. The food was fabulous and the warm and friendly atmosphere made it rather a magical occasion. I can highly recommend this as a venue to hold an event. Many thanks

Simply a perfect lunch. Delightful welcome and service and a delicious lunch in a very pretty dining room. It was my daughter’s birthday and it ticked every box for us. We’ll certainly be back soon as my idea of eating out is to be in the beauty of the countryside in a relaxed and charming restaurant - that’s Iford for you.

Let down by the fact that they couldn't not find out booking with deposit which we had confirmation of and were able to show them. Took too long trying to sort this rather than seating us when they clearly had the space. Were friendly enough. Food was good. Water jugs were grubby. Toilet was a little grubby. Would go back.
