We went for an evening meal on 7/9/24. The whole experience was 10/10. Lovely atmosphere. Welcoming, friendly staff. We had chicken chasseur and the sea bream and both dishes were beautiful. The pub has recently been taken over and I would say for the better. Would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped for early evening meal. It was nice to see some Veggie dishes on the menu, our meal was excellent . The young man from Annecy looked after us very well. All in all a very good experience.

We wanted a lunch stop in the New Forest on our way to Weymouth, and we couldn’t have picked better. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the food was lovely. The ponies outside were an added bonus. Hope I can call again in the future.

Food arrived after a long wait- Meals (roast beef) were not great - meat was hard and no taste - drinks were practically thrown at us - all in all a laughable excuse for a pub! The only reason I suspect it is still open is the lack of competition in the immediate area - There are other great pubs in the New Forest - I would recommend you explore and give this one a miss!

Friendly and attentive staff. Opp field in the New Forest. Not much of a view from inside the pub. Outside tables and chairs a bit tatty. Back garden closed in and not inviting. Food was good. Especially liver. On the expensive side. Old fashioned theme.

Came across The Lamb at Nomansland purely by chance on a tour of the New Forest. We only wanted a beer and a sandwich. We were greeted at the bar by a very pleasant girl who chatted with us and took our order which made us fell at ease immediately. We ordered the Ham and Mustard baguette which came with a small salad and a bowl of chips. Probably the best chips ever. The girl who served us outside was also genuinely friendly. All in a very nice establishment with delightful staff. Would definitely go again.

We visited as a group of friends, we all really enjoyed our food. The chicken, ham hock and leek pie was delicious and I understand its made in house. Would recommend!

I visited with my sisters for a birthday meal. Two of us ordered the fish & chips. The fish was a large piece it was unfortunately mostly batter. The third meal ordered was the pie & chips which was ok. But for the prices charged you would expect better. The drinks are very expensive at £7.40 for a pint of Draught Coke. All in all not impressed.

We met our friends at the pub which was their suggestion we visit. All four of us were delighted with the food and service -3 cottage pies with their ‘secret’ recipe and one lamb tagine. We all enjoyed our lunch and the only criticism is that we would have liked some green vegetables to accompany the cottage pie. Two of us had deserts which were also very good. A bottle of Merlot accompanied our meal. We finished with coffees. Bethany gave excellent happy service and the new manager, Dan, also looked after us. After starting our lunch at 12.30 we left at 3 pm after a super lunch on a wet day.

We went for a family Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table almost straight away and told someone would come over to take our drink order. We waited quite a while before this happened and then again waited almost 20 minutes in total before getting our drinks. We all ordered our Sunday roasts and these were brought out very quickly. We knew before going that the prices are on the high side but thought we’d give it a go so expectations were high. The roasts themselves are pretty basic and the veg is very minimal. A family of 4 adults had to share 2 tiny dishes of veg consisting of carrots, broccoli and cabbage. There was one piece of broccoli each, about a tablespoon of cabbage and a few carrots, didn’t really understand why more wasn’t offered. My husband asked for extra gravy which never turned up. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok or to see if anyone needed more drinks. My husband had to go to the bar mid meal to order another pint. You have to pay an extra £3.99 if you want extras including roasted parsnips, cauliflower cheese.. we ordered some parsnips, these were so disappointing, they were basically boiled! No colour on them at all and couldn’t taste any honey. Drinks are pretty expensive too, a pint of peroni costing £6.45 and a pint of lime and soda £3.00!! All in all a bit of a disappointment, a real shame as it’s a local pub to us.

Took my wife here for her birthday dinner, she doesn't eat large meals so generally has a starter and chips for her main course and then a dessert. She chose the pate, when it arrived it was semi-liquid in an egg cup and proved to be utterly tasteless. She said she had had better pate from the local supermarket. My fish and chips were very good, although at £18.99, were just about the most expensive in the 'Forest'. We split an apple crumble for dessert which seemed to have burnt bits of apple in it, not the best we have had. As a birthday treat, it was a disappointment, especially having eaten here many times over the last 25 years with Lee and Sarah who's standards were always exceptionally high. With new owners/management and we have known Duane and Debbie also for 25 years at the New Forest Inn, things will have to improve especially with the summer influx of holiday makers in the coming months.

Friday nights are busy but well worth the trip out if you are not local ! Great pub, bigger than it looks with bar, hard working staff and fabulous food, ok it’s not a place rated by that tyre company but its great honest food with generous portion sizes, well presented and tasty !! Which is pretty much all you want from decent pub food, four meals with friends all different all arrived pretty much together, staff are brilliant hardworking but seem happy ! and genuinely pleased to see you ! Can’t rate it high enough, but you will need to book especially at weekends I would say. So good we booked to go back in a few night time, oh and lovely village set in the New Forest so what’s not to like !!

Came to inspect new team! No beer as long overdue inspection of system underway. No worries as wine list well presented and informative. Kitchen in good form for chicken roulade and lamb tagine!

Haven’t been to this pub for a few years, but so pleased to have returned since under new management. Atmosphere was so lovely and friendly, made to feel really welcome and relaxed as soon as we had stepped in the door. Log fire was lit and the pub was warm and cosy . Loved the fact that you could stand by the bar, chat and order drinks that way. Whilst eating , food and drinks orders were taken and bought to the table. Not sure how anyone could not like the food served, proper homemade and deliciously tasty food. Will definitely return very soon. New favourite place to eat

Always a nice venue, but recent change of ownership has not carried forward the usual high standard of cooking. We chose a Chicken Kyiv. It was NOT a Chicken Kyiv. There was no filling in the chicken breast. It should be filled with butter and herbs. This was a dry piece of chicken, overcooked and coated in what was referred to as a 'jus' (pretentious), but was so dry it had no juice at all. Trade descriptions act! The other dish was a chicken pie. The good bit - it was a proper pie. Not just plonked in a pot with filo pastry top stuck on. But again it was dry and overcooked. The interior was lacking in any moisture. The added gravy pot made it edible, but drowned the taste. The veg was good. All in all, a major downward step in quality from the previous owners. We went on a Monday so our experience may have been down to the main chef having a day off. But! It should not have been that poor. The new bar staff are very good and offer excellent service. We hope the cooking problem can be fixed.

Haven’t been to the lamb in quite sometime but heard it was under new management. Very positive difference, warm, friendly and inviting. Great menu with options for gluten free. It’s a lovely location and would definitely recommend. We are local and will be back now it is much more welcoming.

Came here last week after a long break from the Lamb. The new owners are firmly in place and the standout to me was just how friendly and welcoming the team were - great atmosphere in a warm cosy pub. Good food, good beer and a great wine list with lovely glasses as well. Will be back - soon!

This place was really lovely. It was nice and warm, good selection of drinks, wine list on offer, background music. The food was hot and very tasty. They had a specials board too. My husband choose the Surf, Turf and Cluck burger at £25, it was huge! I had the hand cut New Forest Sirloin Steak, it was cooked to perfection. Surprisingly we managed to squeeze in an apple and cider crumble which was tasty too. A big thank you for a lovely evening, we will definitely be back with our dog 🐕 😊
