Afternoon Tea! WOW. It is as good as the pictures. Anna is a lovely host. The setting is beautiful. The food was plentiful and deiicious. We were a party of 18 and everyone was delighted (even the GF guest - she had her own cake stand). Would highly recommend this for a small intimate function or just a gathering of ladies. Great value. Even has parking!

Set in a beautiful location, a lovely friendly pub with great beer! The garden area & bar is fantastic whilst the Hop Chapel bar itself is a great place to relax & catch up with friends. Lovely, friendly staff too! With the added bonus of regular street food vendors (from pizza, to burgers and fish & chips- see website/social media for details), but if no visiting food vendors the pies are tasty too! We walked from the village, but plenty of parking available. Open Thursday- Sunday, dog friendly. A lovely place & we are so lucky to have this in our village!!!!

solamente he comido aquí a la hora del almuerzo con "mujeres que comer", pero la comida es excelente, el ambiente y el servicio es excelente.

I came across this small shop & restaurant by accident a few weeks ago (I was doing a course in a nearby barn). The lunch was superb, every bite. A platter of smoked foods of exceptional quality, at a very reasonable price. A real find. I'm not a local, otherwise I'd be a regular. The next door garden centre, where I ate before I found the smokery, was doing a roaring lunch trade with very mediocre food at about the same price. I hope word gets out about this place because it was very quiet and it would be a tragedy if it went out of business because no one knows it's there. I would advise anyone to go.

Booked at Dan's for Sunday lunch. Absolutely terrific choice of mains on the menu including vegetarian options. Husband had roast beef with Yorkshire pud, I had corn-fed chicken with apricot and pine nut stuffing. Both were excellent and came with a lovely variety of veg including creamed sprouts with bacon (delicious). The gravy (which can make or break a roast) was first class. Service was excellent - friendly but polite and efficient and we were able to move to a table we preferred without any hassle. Choice of desserts was a bit disappointing and I wasn't bowled over by the Sunday Sundae, hence one star dropped. Having said that I really didn't need dessert as the main course serving was generous and satisfying. One other plus point is that owing to carpeted interiors, the noise levels are acceptable even in a busy Sunday service. We will go back.

The four of us had an outstanding Sunday lunch - great food, great ambience and great staff. The place was - quite rightly and deservedly given our experience - busy, but the service delivered by the delightful front of house team was excellent. We all had different main courses and every one of them was delicious, and so were the puds! 5 stars are well deserved in my book so go and try it for yourselves.

Welcomed at door by lovely young lady. Then taken to a seat and ordered very promptly.. The staff were all very friendly all happy which shows a good team. We loved all the food and 6 of us had a great meal with 2 bottomless drinks for just over £100, which we think was more than reasonable for all the food we had. Great team Nandos should be very proud.

I went to this venue for a silver wedding anniversary celebration on the afternon on 4th May. The venue is really lovely. There's a great sense of history in the dining area of this former schoolhouse. The food was fabulous and the warm and friendly atmosphere made it rather a magical occasion. I can highly recommend this as a venue to hold an event. Many thanks

This is a very civilised place. And beautiful in the sun. But not at all easy to find... which is part of the charm. With its Peto Gardens and music festival, like a mini-Glyndborne, the 'prom recitals' on the Archery Field with picnic baskets, its shady car park on the banks of the River Frome complete wih kingfishers and dog-walkers, it is a gem to have on one's doorstep just six miles south of Bath. The monthly Supper Evenings are a cult locally, while Pizza Night is mostly family parties. The restaurant, with its sunny terrace, was our choice today while, below, the cafe terrace was also busy with dog-walkers enjoying catchup with friends. We chose the 'prix fixe' 3-course Lunch with amuses bouches and petit fours. It was good - and good value for £30. A lighter touch, from the cafe menu, about £10-15. Chef de cuisine Derbyshire Matt and his lady ensures the cooking, William provides the produce from the estate or locally, and local teenagers provide the service. There's a rather special cottage ( sometimes ) available which would be suitable for a family but, living nearby, we cannot comment. Choose your weather....

Drinks and food orders taken quickly. Food, which was ok took a while to come but that was fine but after we’d eaten and plates were cleared we were not asked if we’d like to see dessert menu and didn’t see the waitress again. My husband went to find her and after walking round various parts of the pub finally found her and we ordered coffee. I then had to go to find someone in order to pay our bill. The whole experience was not a good one
