The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in East Midlands

What a great find. Friendly and helpful staff. Great flat white and a delicious cardamom and cinnamon bun. Took my cash without any problem, which I appreciated as this is becoming increasingly rare. Will definitely be back when I next visit Stamford.

Popped in for a coffee whilst waiting for my wife, ordered a cheese and ham toastie and was not disappointed! Highly recommended if you like a toastie like me!

So an evening out on the piss with friends we ended up here. Now always seem quite busy at the weekend so we thought let's get a bite. Hadnt eaten since the morning so was starving. The next day after eating a chicken kebab I was crippled over in pain feeling sick and running to the toilet. Friends who went also had kebabs here too and was feeling sick the only thing we all had in common was kebabs from this shop so dont take a genius to figure it out. I did say whilst eating it taste funny but friends reassured me was fine. Oh how wrong they were. Never going back will stick to the other local kebab shop on a nite out in future.

The place looks very inviting, traditionally decorated with a huge selection of cakes. Unfortunately the food that was served was very underwhelming, bland and basic, dumplings were greasy and tasteless, bacon and scrambled eggs just about cooked. even the cheesecakes we took away promised so much but delivered very little. The one saving grace was the sourdough bread, fresh and very good. Maybe we didn’t choose the right things? But probably won’t bother again.

just popped in for a quick bite to eat. had the dogs with me, we sat outside . lovely views from the garden. food was very nice and had a GF menu. friendly service

Time and time again this place delivers. The service is beyond brilliant, it’s almost like you are watching a performance, totally authentic, fun just the epitome of exceptional service, how service should be done. The food is brilliant but in a strange way the food is not the centre piece it’s just part of an overall experience. The Langar experience. Make sure you get there one hour before to enjoy drinks before dinner, this is all part of the experience. We went with a group of close friends, enjoyed drinks on the lawn and then a meal in a private room - honestly it’s like you are transported to a different place - there is nowhere else like it in my opinion and it’s why having gone to many restaurants like this around the world that this place still remains number one. Our second stay at The Cholmeley Arms and it didn’t disappoint. The room was spacious, comfortable and immaculate. We arrived late on Sunday afternoon and tucked into a lovely roast. Breakfast next morning was fresh and tasty. We will definitely return.

Well where do we start, hadn't been to Brown's for a few years but we thought we would give it a go for a change. Once we were seated the waitress (who I presume was working her first ever day, as basic training of greeting the client with a smile seems to have been missed off) proceeded to take our orders. On ordering the starters which there was only a choice of two (lunch menu) we were told one wasn't available...not a big choice. We declined. In the meantime the drinks orders were taken , the waitress (trying her best with limited training) did not know what lagers or ciders were available !...anyway food ordered , I went for chicken with a spicy mayo, slaw and skin on fries....I got a KFC zinger tower burger.. and no slaw....menu description needs some improvements. Credit where credit is due the burger was tasty . My wife had the cheesecake....which was deconstructed a little too much. In todays competitive market you need to wow your customers in a good way. The place has potential but needs to up its game in a big way.... the tower burger was nice hence the 2 stars...

So upset by the food they served , and it’s been going downhill each time. Ordered the fino pita and there was nothing inside except the chicken, it was so dry there was no sauce and not even a lettuce. Chicken wasn’t even cooked properly. The time before was a similar experience too. Used to be so good but the quality has gone so down now

Best ever, not exaggerating , we’ve had many a Sunday roast, Quite simply the best ever. Add yo that fabulous service, setting and decor. 5 star plus.

Lovely dinner with friends at the George. It’s beautifully done and the food was delicious. Amazing service, particularly in accommodating our spoon selection 😀
