Called in for a couple pints after nice walk , great views from beer garden round the back , young one had good and could not fault it .

Good pub, tasty chips as reduced menu as wake for another family was on.

Lovely Sunday carvery, Husband had the dip lamb and I had the turkey. Fresh products bought from local suppliers, not frozen or supermarket bought, all from the Farm Shop. Definitely will be coming back.

A lovely family Sunday lunch, (7 of us) the food was very good, fresh vegitables and plenty of them and tender meat. Excellent value for money. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Would definitely recommend it. Will definitely be back soon.

Sunday dinner was Terrible cold and un edible. There was a football match on and the people was shouting and swearing even tho kids was present. I wouldn't recommend.

Had the mixed grill was cover in black bits from unclean grill 🤢 witch the so called chef admitted he'd not cleaned bar staff where to busy chatting and the so called chef came and took order definitely the worst place I've eaten

Top dollar, food, great price, lovely service/hospitality. We both had their steak pie, which was LOADED with good quality meat, and chips/ peas and it didn't disappoint. I went there on the recommendation of Lee Davey "The McMaster" on YouTube and he was right about great price, quality and the view...absolutely one of the best from any other in the UK. Would highly recommend to anyone. My sticky toffee pudding was the best, too, I'd ever tasted, especially how moist it was.

Went to the Bird in hand at about 4pm. Meal was OK if a little too much of one ingredient. Beautiful view. The service was OK. Nice lady Only negative was the customers standing at the bar,, looked like workmen stopped for a pint after work. They were swearing a lot! And blocking the exit, felt a little intimidated.

The food was freshly made to order and we really enjoyed it, very tasty. The view is amazing from the restaurant/bar, fields go on for miles with horses and plenty of interest. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This pub is a great place for food ,drinks and a social they are also a dog friendly pub . The pub is well stocked at the bar with also a great variety of none alcoholic drinks and the food is fab as well as lovely staff and all are very welcoming !!

Wonderful home cooked food. 4 friends had great meals. Lamb duo and shepherds pie was outstanding. Picky eater loved the great steak. Homemade pie and liver/bacon were both great with lovely mash and proper veg. Desserts excellent. Full gluten free menu much appreciated too.

Happy to recommend The Bird in Hand. Nice location, great views over open fields, nearby to Wheelgate Park which we'd visited. Staff were very attentive, good food, (which they made a point of saying was home-made, not brought in by the brewery's suppliers ), welcoming to families (brought out our young ones' food first, for example) and, generally, looked after us very well.

Breakfast can't be beaten locally for quality and value. Proper butchers sausage and bacon. Decent portions for price. Served quickly from friendly staff. Pub is always clean, warm and welcoming. Brilliant

Also had a lovely meal which was nice, the fish was a little small, could have been better, apart from this everything was fine.
