What a little gem of a cafe Maggie is French with a wonderful accent (and she tested me! Lol) but is multi lingual and one of the friendliest people you will find in a restaurant Maggie knew all the customers that came in whilst I was there, and they mostly Knew each other too! Such a change from the normal hurry up and order and get it put in front of you as quick as possible restaurants My first but not last visit, and glad my breakfast partner was running late so I could stay longer Looking forward to returning often as I think you will too! I visited Moor Hall yesterday to deliver samples of our flour, and I was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. Really enjoyed our Hitchens Barn lunch experience. Very accommodating of the toddler in our group, really good service and above all the food ( souffle, scotch eggs, soup, fish dishes and one meat course) was beautifully presented and tasted really good. Special mention for the 3 course set menu that one person had which was specially good value. Only downside is need to put plenty of time aside on Saturday for parking.. which I didn't so was late.

The restaurant is small and cosy with a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. The menu is short (I definitely prefer it that way) with a couple of veggie options, especially among the small plates. I had the cauliflower with hummus and the sweet potato main: both were excellent, generously portioned, came out from the kitchen quickly and very fairly priced. I skipped dessert in favour of a cocktail (Pony Girl) - very glad I did, as it was delicious.

Easily the best meal I’ve had in the Northwest. Very, very good. The owner chatted and it felt far from forced, he’s someone who loves what he does and you can see it in him. The food was outstanding, particularly the starters!

Afternoon Tea! WOW. It is as good as the pictures. Anna is a lovely host. The setting is beautiful. The food was plentiful and deiicious. We were a party of 18 and everyone was delighted (even the GF guest - she had her own cake stand). Would highly recommend this for a small intimate function or just a gathering of ladies. Great value. Even has parking!
