Such a great find - celebrated a friend’s birthday here - food was absolutely delicious and really fresh, all cooked right there infront of us. Staff were brilliant too, can’t recommend enough for an intimate meal and a great time.

I came here in a large group for my friends birthday and had a lovely night. The food was excellent and there was a great choice of tapas dishes on the mains and the specials menus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Service was great and they were more than happy for us to provide our own birthday cake which they served and cut for us. Chloe and Edie looked after us and were lovely.

Had a lovely meal out with the friends. It’s a small restaurant but it has no issues catering for a larger group. Booking is necessary. Lots of great options on the standard tapas menu, plus the specials. We were well looked after by Chloe & Edie despite the restaurant being full. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend you visit if you are in the area. A must try.

I've loved this place for years now and decided to have my 40th birthday celebration their just under a week ago with 10 or so friends. Brilliant evening as per usual. The reviews do not lie. I had pork ribs, beef casserole and a double helping of the salt and pepper sausages. Evening was absolutely perfect, chilled ambience, really friendly and helpful staff. They gave us each of us a hand-written, individual bill at the end having kept a tally of everything ordered including the drinks. Was very grateful for that as the organiser as you know how much of a mither it can be to figure out who had what. A huge thank you to Mike and love live Aquila!

We came here for a family meal, and it went above and beyond expectations. There were 7 of us, and the staff were so patient with how long we took to choose what we wanted from their very well made menu. Plenty of variety, especially for veggies. Highly recommend the bruschetta & the patatas pobre! But the star of the show was our waitress Chloe. She went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable from start to finish. Service as good as Chloe's had a huge impact on our night, and she's the reason we will definitely be back. Well done Aquila! Keep it up :)

Wonderful place. Couldn't fault any aspect of it. Food great, service excellent - love the touch at the end where they give everyone their individual handwritten bill to avoid confusion. Can't recommend it enough

Honestly amazing. This cute little restaurant only has 5 tables, so you absolutely have to book, but it's well worth it! The waitresses were so friendly and helpful. So a huge shout out to Izzy and Chloe Both managed to get the service spot on. Didn't rush us but made sure we had everything we needed and had a good giggle with us. And then there was the food. I usually photograph all the food for reviews, but honestly, we were so eager to dig in that I forgot. These beautiful tapas style small plate dishes were just a culinary explosion! The flavours were so well balanced and really popped, and there was absolutely plenty of food. We had 3 sharing plates and then 2 each and a desert, and it was beautiful. A huge thanks to Mike and his team for this stunning little gem of a find and I absolutely recommend everyone try this out!

Absolutely brilliant place with a great team running it. I regret not writing reviews of my visits here in the past as there have been about 20 and it has always been five stars. I have a 'usual' which is Mike’s famous salt and pepper sausages. I keep coming back for more as it is absolutely delicious. Great choice of drinks available too. I usually have a Peroni or Birra Moretti unless I fancy something stronger, Everyone working there is a really good laugh too. Highly recommend.

Excellent tapas and good chatty service. Neighbouring table conversation perhaps a little too interesting! Dessert was fun.

Visited this evening with my partner for the first time . Absolutely incredible food and the seating arrangement was very nice with a view of the workings of the chef behind the counter , decor is very unique but we sampled 10 dishes and they were all absolutely delicious. We will be back …

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with a relaxed dinner. The restaurant is small but perfectly formed with 5 intimate tables. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and piping hot. The menu was varied enough to get a lovely selection of tapas followed by tiramisu. All in all a lovely evening. First time dining for us and we’ll definitely be back.

We ordered 5 plates between the 2 of us and drinks. Food was delightful. Calamari, Chorizo, Cauliflour, Potatos, Pork Belly... Will definitely return! Went at 8pm on a Friday, booked last minute, that evening and were accommodated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Had 0% Guinness too!

We had a lovely evening at Aquila, experiencing why it has such good customer feedback. The food was served promptly and exceptionally well made. We had a range of dishes and enjoyed every one. It was great chatting with Mike too, whose warm personality and support for his dedicated team was clear to us. He was only too happy to provide a little favour as part of our anniversary celebrations. In all, a great place ran by a great team, and highly recommended. Thank you to Mike and his team! I do recommend booking, even for a weeknight.

One of my favourite restaurants in Macclesfield, varied menu of tapas dishes and lots of choice, something for everyone, recently had my daughter's 21st birthday meal here and brought some family for their first visit, they loved it. Small but has no impact on the service and the staff are friendly. Drinks menu is very good, fantastic wine. Always best to book either early 6pm or 8pm for later sitting. Highly recommended

Well wow, travelling through to Manchester to watch Ritchard Hawley and stopped for dinner. Amazing little place, excellent service and amazing food. Well worth a visit. We will Be back

The only minor--but-understandable weakness is the lack of choice of red wine - I would have loved to see something from Puglia or Sicily. As ir was, we settled for some great local beer from Storm Brewing (just up the road) and a perfectly acceptable vinho verde we often drink at home. The food was flawless and the service immaculate.

The restaurant helped us as one of our party had a dairy intolerance , was not made to feel out of place and event out of the way to change a sauce either no cream. The Manager was extremely helpful. The size of the meals were large. Clean and nice atmosphere .

Went for the 20.00 sitting place was full booking is advised got a complimentary Brocoli and Spinach soup was absolutely amazing ordered 3 dishes each which was more than enough Mike's sausages are just amazing staff were very professional and polite The waffle with icecream and Tirmisu are rather yummy.

Outstanding meal at Aquila. Mike and the team really looked after us and the quality of the food was exceptional. It’s a small, cosy restaurant, but that’s what makes it. You can have a really special time with close ones and the food, drink and service backs it up. We’ll definitely be back!

Easily the best food in Macclesfield, a real hidden gem.

Very tasty food and friendly service, but it was a pity that the waitresses checked we were ‘happy’ quite so many times and that they tried to clear our plates before we had finished several times, making us feel harried at only 9.40pm

I had to find a suitable venue for 15 people at short notice and was so happy that Mike agreed to open up and host our private party. His communication and assistance in the run-up to the day was excellent. The food, service and ambience were all superb. Support this amazing, independent business - you won't be disappointed!

We went for the first time and in a party of 4, ordered 10 dishes. Each one was delicious and satisfied everyone's appetite. Customer service was excellent, particularly our waitress, Ivy, who was most attentive. Dining in the same sitting was a party of 10 and it looked to be a great venue for a group of that size or for couples alike. A compact venue but full of atmosphere and warmth from the log burner. A definite 5 stars.

Had tried to get in a few times last minute without success and now realise that they can cater for about 14 covers. It's cosy or you can hear what the next table are talking about, depends on your perspective. The closeness of the tables didn't bother us. Really friendly people, the chef is cooking on your right as you enter the restaurant. The waitresses were an absolute credit to the business. I was going vegetarian for the evening and the food was a little mixed. The small ramekin of beetroot hummus was a little bland and the thin, cool, crispy pittas were awful. The mushrooms were very tasty, probably the best dish. Unfortunately the falafels were bought in and at £8, very disappointing. Aside from the occasional heavy smoke from the cooking, the atmosphere was good and again I should mention that the service was excellent. The food was a bit of a let down though.

The restaurant opened just for our family party to celebrate a 60th birthday. Mike communicated well leading up to the day, arranging menus, etc. The food was excellent, with especially high praise from the vegetarians in the party, who were very pleased with the variety and quality of the offering. All the staff were friendly and helpful and a great time was had by all. Highly recommended.

Food at its best, every dish was so tasty - we had to order twice, simple food but so perfectly executed, best food we’ve had in a week in the Manchester area with out a doubt

I visited Aquila last night with friends for the first time. It has a feel of dining at friends as it has a cosy warm atmosphere. The service was exceptional and every element of the food exquisite! Recommendation is that you have 2-3 plates per person. For me 3 with a side was just too much. Phenomenal food, served incredibly quickly. Fresh, straight from the kitchen - no waiting on a pass! Service was good and the owner came over to discuss my gfs nut allergy, which was a nice touch.

We are new to the area and chose this special place in celebration of our daughters A-level results. It did not disappoint. The choice of dishes was plentiful and we liked the standard and special options. The squid in particular was the best we’d had and we are well travelled. The drinks selection also catered for those not drinking and the service was spot on. We will be back and also use the place to bring friends when they are visiting. Well done team Aquila Bacaro!

What a fantastic little find this was, we were fitted in at short notice and had a beautiful meal served by friendly attentive staff..It has a lovely rustic feel and is welcoming and intimate whilst maintaining the spirit of eating at a Spanish friends house!!

1st time here considering I have lived here for years and it certainly wont be the last time! We had a big party of us on a Saturday night with a mixture of adults and children and they were very accommodating, the food was EXCELLENT, and they support local businesses with their menu which is a great thing.

This is the most endearing little restaurant I have ever been to. The food is always high quality yet, unpretentious. Quite unique & beautifully simplistic. It’s also cosy & homely in the winter months with the open fire. Definitely my kind of place.

A bit of a hidden gem! Booked for family plus dog. Given a table outside (ideal). All of us had excellent service (including the dog). We ordered 12 different Tapas dishes, all were good and some great. Price was very reasonable too! Recommended!

Second time in, food was unbelievable both times. As someone who doesn't like seafood, and finds most deserts a bit sickly, the squid, prawns and the toffee Belgian waffles were amazing, I've been converted! The salt and pepper sausages are just the best thing ever, period.

Cosy, independent restaurant serving delicious tapas (chorizo and squid are fabulous), served by helpful, friendly staff. Only seats about 14 people, so ideal for a gathering of friends or family. Despite its size, they have a decent range of wines and beers (household names and local breweries). Can't wait to go again!

Some of the best food I have had recently! There was some initial confusion with our booking, but after clearing that up we went for a meal and absolutely loved every dish that was put in front of us. They recommend 2 to 3 dishes per person and even sharing 6 dishes with my wife I wish I had the room for more :) We will definitely be returning to explore the other dishes available.

Popped in last minute on a Wednesday. Lovely welcome from the owner and superb tapas. Would definitely recommend. Very small room but we like that as you can actually hear yourself chat together.
