We had a 10 year celebration at the restaurant. Grace and Kate went out of their way to ensure we had first class service. They even moved us to a quiet room with good acoustics and a calm, quiet ambience. The food was stunning. Of highest quality and with good sized portions. We were a small party of four - and each one of us were full of praise for the way the evening panned out. Compliments to the staff and the chef.

Amazing experience for my birthday. They put us right by the windows so we could overlook the river and bridge. Wine tasting, great food and amazing service (thank you Loreta!). We Calle din last minute after a wonderful day in the Botanical Gardens… we were hungry! Had walked passed the Toll House earlier and though wow this places looks so amazing. What a very memorable experience! Free parking all day Sat and Sunday and after 6:30pm in week days.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in Bristol. We always go for the tasting menu and wine flight and it's always such a treat. The food is absolutely amazing and we love the backstory the staff provides for each dish and wine pairing. A very special place

An impromptu stay over in York. There are numerous fine dining restaurants to choose from but feel we made a great choice. Warmly welcomed and in fact service was excellent throughout, professional but very friendly. At the end of the day at this level it's all about the food, which was excellent, we opted for 5 courses with wine pairings. Best meal for quite some time and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Not cheap but felt good value. Look forward to returning.

Folium is a fantastic restaurant. We visited on a Saturday night, trying the long tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was amazing, with great care, thought, cooking and presentation of fabulous seasonal ingredients. Each dish is carefully explained in a friendly informal manner, with excellent wine pairings. This is my first experience of a tasting menu and it blowed me away, trying things I wouldn’t normally have. And I left feeling very full and satisfied. Particular highlights were the savoury custard with chicken broth, homemade malt loaf and beautiful turbot. It’s an unfussy but classy restaurant with great service and atmosphere. Go. A Michelin star must be on the horizon.

The restaurant is small and cosy with a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. The menu is short (I definitely prefer it that way) with a couple of veggie options, especially among the small plates. I had the cauliflower with hummus and the sweet potato main: both were excellent, generously portioned, came out from the kitchen quickly and very fairly priced. I skipped dessert in favour of a cocktail (Pony Girl) - very glad I did, as it was delicious.

Unfortunately, I’m disappointed. For the author's cuisine it is not only about the food. It is about what the chef wanted to say, it is about the history of the creation of the dish and only then about the food. The waiters simply served the dishes and said: this is pork with sauce, etc., enjoy and that's it. Sorry, maybe I don't understand something, but the food was not the most delicious, but it’s not so important! The experience that I wanted to get from a restaurant with a Michelin star I did not get.
