Hewitt's Restaurant in Isle of Wight

We loved our stay at Hewitts, Dean is extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast is always lovely. We will most definitely be back!

We have visited Hewitts multiple times now over last year or so and it has always been excellent. Staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Dean the owner always goes the extra mile and because we have been regularly, we feel we are always treated as friends of the restaurant. The Sunday roast is the best we have had and the price is incredible for the quality and size. Dean my friend comes with me and is a wheelchair user, this has been no problem whatsoever and the owner Dean will meet us, help us with a ramp to get us in and then give us a table which always allows plent of space for him. I always have the chicken and could have it for ever, Dean has beef or lamb and says the meat is so tender, don't need to use a knife hardly. All is good. Can't fault anything at all and always look forward to the next visit. Hewitts deserves its great reputation. Thank you Matt and Dean

I visited Hewitt's a few weeks ago with friends and we had the most incredible Sunday lunch! We are a group of hungry athlete's and opted for "The Feast" Sunday roast option and it did not disappoint! With the feast you get a platter of all the meats on offer that day plus all the trimmings, which is great because you then don't have to choose between them! The portion sizes were enormous and defeated even our massive appetites, and all the food was super tasty and cooked really well. The salted beef brisket was a particular highlight! The staff were friendly and welcoming and were all over the service, and the venue itself has a great vibe and atmosphere to it. Hewitt's is definitely highly recommended!

I’ve been going to Hewitts for several years now, and the standard just keeps getting better! As coeliac I find it very difficult for restaurants to really understand my dietary requirements and make adaptations, but not with Hewitts. The chef has continued to go above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs making sure that I never miss out on any dish. The food (and I’ve eaten a lot!) has always been exemplary, from lunches, to dinners to desserts, the quality of food is second to none, the portions are extremely generous, great prices, the staff (everyone from Dean, to Josh, to the waiting staff) are so friendly and polite. I continue to recommend Hewitts to everyone, it really has an inclusive feel that you feel comfortable to be a part of. Without a doubt, the best restaurant on the IOW, don’t hesitate and trust me, you will not regret it!

My favourite restaurant on 'The Island', and by some distance. Have eaten here on half a dozen occasions, and have not found fault once. The food is fantastic, but what really impresses me is the service. Attentive, but not overbearing. Nothing is too much trouble, and you're always given a warm welcome. My partner and I decided to step out of our comfort zone and try 'Flavours of Hewitts', which was a set menu of 7 courses chosen by the Chef. These are scaled down versions of popular dishes, that have been served over the years. Thos is a great concept, as it allows you to sample food that you wouldn't ordinarily choose from the menu, and really broadens horizons. We both thoroughly enjoyed the variations, and discovered some beautiful dishes!. Price was very reasonable, and we both left with a full stomach!. If you haven't visited this restaurant you are seriously missing out!. I would urge you all to give it a try.

By far the best restaurant on the Island, the food is incredible the attention to detail and presentation is out of this world! Calm tasteful surroundings and friendly staff. Super menu with a good selection of reasonably priced wines. Our meals were without exception absolutely excellent. Generous portions and really delicious. Set menu at £19 for 3 courses pp is extremely good value! This is a must for enjoyable well priced food in an excellent setting. We will be back!

This is the fifth or so time I have visited this restaurant. Dean the owner/front of house is just brilliant. Nothing is too much for him and he and his team are just a delight to chat to. This has to be the best place to eat on the island, so much so I often travel over from the mainland just to eat here. I also stayed in the rooms which are perfect to bed down in the evening and sightsee during the day. The menu has lots of varied dishes on it and the chef clearly knows what he is doing with not only presentation but quality. A cheeky cocktail is also a must. I will be back in a few months and can't wait.
