Loved this place. The food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back when I was in Urmston again. Had main meal and desert, and the wine was great also.

Visited for the first time on a Sunday with friends & was not disappointed one bit. Superb from starter to dessert; Pate - Really tasty with exceptional tasty fresh toast Lamb - very tasty with plenty of flavours & the lamb so succulent, Ordered the extras of Pigs in blanket & the best cauliflower cheese ever. Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream, wow, just wow. Overall, we could not give this menu other than a 10 out of 10. Delicious, fresh, tasty, fabulous staff, great wine menu. You can definitely tell between a kitchen that takes pride in its food to others that churn it out on a conveyor belt. If you want quality, then book Proost, you will not regret it x

I'd really recommend this restaurant! The steak was absolutely fantastic and there were plenty of gluten free options. The service was brilliant and quick. It should be said that it is quite small (not a bad thing) so I'd consider booking if going on a Friday or Saturday night.

I have visited Proost the last couple of times I've been in Manchester and they never disappoint. The service is friendly and welcoming, they have a great selection of beers and wines on offer, and (most importantly) the food is top notch. The white pudding starter and braised lamb neck main were particular highlights! Keep doing what you're doing, guys! Great work.

After another return visit to this restaurant, I have to say, it never fails to deliver its excellent standards of service and more importantly the taste and quality of the food. The white pudding starter was to die for and the steak would give Hawksmoor a run for its money. We were in a party of 8 and all felt that the excellent staff could not do enough for us. Despite every table being full, all our meals were served together, on time and all of us thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Yet another return visit to this place. The food has never disappointed and we just love the relaxed atmosphere. The chicken is a big favourite for my dad and the steaks are always perfect. They’ll even do an amazing chateaubriand on Thursdays if you order in advance - highly recommend this one!!! Staff are always friendly without being intrusive. Great experience overall.

Visited recently to try the lunchtime tapas menu which had been recommended to us. On arrival we were pleased to learn that they were running a 2 for £10 promotion alongside their usual tapas menu. From the promotion the 4 of us ordered fillet beef strips with cafe de Paris butter, cod loin with lobster vermouth sauce, pork belly with soy sesame glaze and heritage tomato bruschetta; every dish was amazing and generous portions and at £20 for all of that represented unbelievable value for money. We also ordered lamb chops with mint gremalta and chicken schnitzel from the usual menu and both were superb. It's not your usual generic tapas and it at clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a menu of small plates in keeping with the restaurant's usual style of high end dishes. They also have a fantastic selection of drinks - being fans of Belgian beer I enjoyed a Tongerlo blonde and my wife a Kriek, our friends shared a bottle of Doura which they said was amazing. Desserts were also incredible; I enjoyed the white chocolate, raspberry & pistachio tart, my wife and my friend both had the Tequila rose parfait and my wife's friend had the Gin & Tonic cake. This was our fourth visit to Proost having previously enjoyed their evening menu and Sunday dinner and we have been very impressed on each visit and cannot wait to return.

I visited today for my birthday and for Mother’s Day. It’s one of my favourite restaurants and today did not disappoint! Wow! The food is just amazing. Generous portion sizes and so tasty. The ambience is always welcoming and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We are so lucky to have such an amazing place on our doorstep.

My husband and I went for lunch today to Proost The tapas were exceptional, flavorsome, hot, and very good value and the wine was very good too. The ambiance was relaxing and the décor was very tasteful. Amy was in front of the house and was very attentive, knowledgeable, and lovely. My husban d went to the kitchen to praise the chefs. Have now eaten here 3 times in last few weeks, once for Sunday lunch and twice on a weekday enjoying the tapas menu. I have taken several friends there and told many more about it. I have to travel 15 miles to get here but it is well worth it. Every dish I have eaten has merit but from the tapas menu I would particularly recommend the slow cooked ox cheek, the patatas bravas and the panko prawns, not forgetting the bruschetta and the pork tenderloin. The desserts are superb as well and a friend declared the Tequila Rose Frozen Parfait one of the best desserts she had ever eaten. Each time I have gone Justine has served us with warmth and efficiency and appears to run front of house in a highly competent manner. I look forward to going again and taking more friends.

OMG the food was amazing, clearly the chef knows how to cook. Waiting staff were really friendly, nothing too much trouble. I would highly recommend this local restaurant to everyone. I will definitely be going back.

We visited Proost with friends, the food was excellent, the wine choice was spot on, along with attentive service and intimate atmosphere. Also Proost is a short walk from Urmston railway station within the town centre. All four of us would recommend Proost without hesitation.

Had a booking for Sunday Lunch and thoroughly enjoyed. Perfect friendly service, not hurried and not kept waiting. Great bottle of red with the food. All the meals were excellent - tender beef, delicious pan fried Coley and loved the desserts. Portion sizes were spot on. Amazing value, really enjoyable visit!

Proost is probably my favourite restaurant in Manchester, family owned small business with superb standards and incredible value for money. Visited this week for the Chateaubriand special. Amazing value and everything was first rate, pigeon starter was a joy ( as were the soup and the fish cakes ) . The very generous portion of fillet steak was perfectly medium rare as requested and the accompaniments were all delicious, especially the braised ox cheek, and the asparagus. Sauces to accompany were all delicious. Service, as always was charming and efficient. Proost is a real treasure

Sunday Dinner! Amazing! Tender lamb, rich, rich, gravy, all the trimmings. Brilliantly judged starters and a sharp, fruity, sweet, crunchy, delicious berry crumble with custard to finally tip me over the edge. Go! Go tomorrow! It's awesome

Sunday Evening Dinner at 5pm. Despite all the positive 5 star feedback for 'Proost', my wife and I were very disappointed on our Sunday evening visit - maybe it was the 5pm visit (late for Sunday lunch and leftovers??). Our soup starter was very good but the 'Roast Striploin of Beef x 2' not what we expected - beef quite fatty and not 'rare' (as ordered), roast potatoes (2), roast carrot (1), roast parsnip (1) all overcooked and a Yorkshire pudding like 'dry grey cardboard' - good gravy! We explained our concerns to the waitress whilst eating the food, who apparantly 'told' the kitchen but nothing happened - perhaps they are too busy to respond to customers concerns?

Had seen the name of this place a while ago and Tripadvisor gave it good reviews, so we tried it. We enjoyed it very much and hope to make this our new "go-to" restaurant in future. Can't say better than that, I don't think!

Seriously good late Sunday afternoon dinner. All the ingredients of a lamb dinner but done to another level (think fine dining) neck of lamb just melted, potatoes and glazed veg perfect, lovely thick wine gravy and mint sauce. We had a family Sunday lunch. The food and service was excellent. It was probably one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in a very long time. All the elements were cooked to perfection. All the meals were served at the same time, it is amazing how many restaurants can't manage this.

Heard great things… it was good! First time here, the menu I saw on Google was different to the current menu so do check ahead if you’re wanting to know. All good, very nice and tasty, the cauliflower schnitzel was too oily and a little over facing before you pour the garlic butter on top. Service friendly and didn’t have to wait too long for anything. Will return.

The place is very cosy. We had to wait 10 mins for our table but this was no problem sitting at the cicktail bar. The food was very good and the portions were decent. We had excellent friendly service and there was a nice atmosphere. After all that, the bill was smaller than I expected We eill go again.

Despite being residents of Urmston for years, we’ve not been to Proost before today and I’m gutted as we’ve definitely been missing out. The food was amazing, the service second to none and it is so very reasonable for the quality of food. We had the three course Sunday dinner and it was delicious. An amazing day with family. The food and service was fabulous. Pigs in blankets added to my chicken roast dinner, was an extremely good choice. The music was just the right volume, not instruise. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. The desserts were extremely good too.

Wow ! Been trying to go here for a while but when I try to book in on a Sunday it's always full. I remembered to book earlier in the week this time. I now know why it's always busy, the food is amazing and the service is brilliant. We both had the lamb and a side of cauliflower cheese between us which was plenty. Every element of the roast was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We are so happy we've found somewhere in Urmston (being new to the area) we can visit every two weeks. 2 courses for £20 a bargain well worth it tbh we were full with just the roast dinner. I can't recommend this place enough for a top roast, we will be back to try the week menu very soon as well as being regular Sunday diner's.

Nice little place this, came today and had the 3 course with my partner and daughter. Staff were nice and friendly. Food came out quickly and at decent intervals between courses. Only slight moan was the piece of beef I got was very fatty and sinewy. The actual beef was perfectly cooked for me though, but would definetly go again.

One of the tastiest Sunday roasts I've ever had. Not one thing wasn't to my liking. Only went because my sister got us a voucher for xmas, but we'll be back! Staff were faultless too. Definitely worth booking. May try the midweek menu next.

Booked table. Staff were excellent, attentive and atmosphere pleasant. Small inside but you were given plenty of room to eat. We had 3 courses because the food was tasty and fabulous. We enjoyed every single meal. Best meal we have had in a long time. They give you a buzzer on your table for service but didnt need it as service was spot on! What a little gem in Urmston. We returned to Proost for a Sunday lunch today. 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £24. The food is always good here in our experience but a sunday dinner can be challenge. I had neck of lamb, it was exceptional. Cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and so flavoursome. Service was friendly but unobtrusive. Another triumph. Thank you Proost. You always surpass expectations. See you again :)

Nice little independent restaurant. Small but focussed menu, would probably describe as modern European but possibly some French leanings... Not entirely clear though, and don't expect it to be Dutch! Anyway the food is competently cooked and reasonably priced, service friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a local date night.

I had the pate starter, the only complaint was that the toast was toothbreaking, not recommended if you have sensitive teeth. The fish starter was really good. We both had lamb roast and I must say that they were the best roast potatoes, I would give that roast a 9/10, it was scrumptious.

Amazing roast. Great customer service. Only roast I've had that's better than homemade. I love having this place on the doorstep. Really kid friendly, not in a soft play way, just friendly staff and excellent kids menu options.

2nd visit to Proost. Nice, relaxed atmosphere with a bistro style menu. Duck was lovely, highly recommend. Small venue but great for a mid-week get together, or last minute meal out. Staff were very friendly. Worth a trip if looking for a change from a chain.

We booked this without seeing any reviews, what a lovely little restaurant. The menu is small but we liked that aspect. Food came out in good pacing, I would recommend the cod loin and squid ink risotto. Everything had flavour and the right portions.

Been twice and both times have been spot on. Good service, fresh food from a small but well put together menu. Quite expensive but the food and experience certainly warrant this.
