Over 2 hours late, no contact for the store absolutely ridiculous

We had a lovely morning with a wee tot exploring Calderglen. That is until we went for lunch. I am going to start by saying the Red Pepper soup was lovely…. But… we ordered sandwiches, which, unfortunately it made it into the toastie machine for a few seconds prior to being sent out to our table. So neither toastie or sandwich arrived out, we couldn’t eat it. I asked for mine to be sent back and the girl apologised profusely offering a replacement. To which I said sorry no I have been put off its fine. We were then approached by another member of staff. Oh my good grief passive aggressive…. Can I point out that at no time did I either ask for a replacement or a refund and yet I seemed to be taken to task for simply saying sorry it’s not good enough!!! I understand beautiful hot days make staff feel under pressure but all I wanted was for my plate to be taken away and an acknowledgement that a mistake had been made. I never once said that the bread was stale the first girls apology was more than enough… one more thing when you have wee tots at a table it is never advisable to put hot drinks right in front of them (fortunately ours is a wee bit more danger aware and new to sit back). Note to self next time we will bring a Picnic

The Paddle Steamer on a warm sunny Saturday was full of day trippers. The atmosphere was noisy as customers raised their voices in a chain reaction in order to be heard. Staff kept tables clean and waiting time at the bar 🍸 to a minimum. Too noisy and busy for me.

Getting seated can be tricky because they rarely clear tables and once they do never clean them. Needs either more staff or managed better.

It's called the burgh bar now.. No kitchen either.

Good atmosphere,, and EXCELLENT staff who really know what they are doing . Professional, and helpful to customers unlike their counterparts across at M.B.

Worst food ever had without a doubt did I complain yes I was offered 5 pounds of the bill I payed the remainder of bill with reluctance toilets were a disgrace sad to say this place was the worst established that I ever tried

Good food, good coffee, good atmosphere. We always enjoy our food and the service is always friendly. Home made soup and breakfasts are always very enjoyable.

I visited the BUF on Saturday 13th April 2025 and received amazing customer service from the bartender Stephen. I had a very bad cold and couldn’t speak well as the busy bar, the bartended Stephen was very accommodating to myself and girlfriend and made the full experience very easy for myself multiple times throughout the night . I thanked him at the time and asked if there was a way to review his customer service and he gave me a very modest reply. Something along the lines of “you don’t need to review me, this is my job don’t worry” I had to leave a review though, 10/10 customer service and if there is any way to give him a direct tip I would love to. This is a local for our friends so decided to try again unfortunately. The mussels though a fair sized portion were really too small and hardly any taste to them. The buffalo chicken wings were awful, thick batter I’d to scrape off as too tough/crisp to eat. The beef burger was perhaps worst they’d tasted. Curries were alright but tbh tasted better. Steak and ale pie seemed to go down well. Long wait for our meals and one main was missing so had to wait for it though tbf didn’t wait too long. Desserts were alright. All food very well presented. Didn’t have drink we wanted and didn’t enjoy drinks we had. Coffee was good. Price was fair and staff very nice but apart from that sorry didn’t enjoy at all.

Very little vegetarian food and hot vegetarian toasties almost never available When asked if they could prepare a fresh toastie advised that they had no cheese at 1pm therefore has to sit with friends who were eating without any food. Very poor service

Always friendly staff food is lovely can't find a fault with the place very handy as it's close to my work always a good selection of food on offer

Fantastic service and great coffee. The staff couldn't have been nicer to our two wee ones. Rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to since they were so nice! We will be back for sure!
