The Exchang in South Lanarkshire

Went in here for the breakfast a few weeks ago. Can only recommend it, far better than the one served up in the nearby Wetherspoons and comparable in price. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

I was home in East Kilbride following a bereavement. The exchange quickly became out go to place!!!!! Someday there were just 2/4 of us someday up to 10 including children. The staff were without fail friendly and helpful ,even moving tables to accommodate prams. No table was left dirty for more than a few minutes. The hospitality was second to none. Very sadly we have to make another trip soon. And this will definitely be our place of choice. Thank you all

looked afterus very well in a very happy atmosphere good service.The waitresses were smart and took our orders quickly and efficiently handling the banter from the lads with good humour asa well .Good stuff.

Ordered 2 steak pie and chips today Kinda disappointed what was served. The bigger chips weren't cooked long enough, the stew was on the tough side and pastry was soggy instead of crispy. Best thing was the pint of tennents reasonably priced at 3.15.

Another great meal, brilliant staff, good value for money, Will definitely be back, wish I had room for a desert.......

The staff here are simply wonderful, friendly, helpful and nothing is too much bother. The food is fabulous, not at all like the usual re-heated pre bought meals you find in most pubs these days. Here they make it fresh to order and I can honestly say that the home made pizza is the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life! I would thoroughly recommend a visit here for lunch or dinner,you won't regret it 😊

A wet,cold day and looking for some lunch. Steak pie ( oh my lord) was amazing. Quite literally could have licked the plate but people don't like that haha. Also ordered a toffee cake - was delicious

I've been here a few times. Food is excellent! Steak Pie is amazing. Staff are friendly - nice atmosphere and decent prices. Portion sizes are good too. All round 5 stars!

Away for 2 nights we went in first night lovely staff and very safe . Went back second night when the Scotland England game was on all of the tables were booked but they managed to accommodate us plenty of staff on that night brilliant service Good pint and cheep cocktails. I must say a big thanks to Bernadette it was our anniversary I mentioned and she gave us a bottle of presseco to celebrate thank you very much it made our weekend away 😀

Amazing time here, great friendly atmosphere despite current covid restrictions, food was absolutely unreal and amazing for the money. Best pints in east kilbride hands down lovely staff excellent service and the app you can use to order is hassle free. will definitely be back

I had lunch with my mum and son a few hours ago now and im still livid!!!!! When asked if all was well with our lunch and i explained i could not eat mine as i was sliced on the gum by a piece of chicken bone the waitress simply presented my mum with the bill and removed the plates! Yeah thats great £8.50 NOT to b fed! Pointless!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I had dinner at The Exchange yesterday. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fish was huge!!! He didnt even attempt the chips. I had fajitas that were excellent!! We will definately be back regularly

If you are looking for the worst customer service in Ek ? This is the best place to visit. Popped in for a pint and can only say I have never experienced such bad/rude customer service. Will never step foot in this establishment again.

Always our favourite pub to go to in East Kilbride.... Visited loads of times and went on a Tuesday afternoon after lockdown.... I was so impressed the place is so fresh and immaculate.... Social distance measures are great... You are met at the door by one of the lovely staff, they take your details for track and trace, take you to your table, all 4 of us had great food and wine we all thoroughly enjoyed we all felt safe and relaxed, the staff are always so friendly and welcoming, we'll done to everyone be back soon

Came in for food as well as drinks and having been in a few other establishments since lockdown has been eased can honestly say they have the best balance between providing great service and providing a safe service. Instantly felt at ease staff are friendly and attentive and can usually always see someone cleaning something which in times like this is very reassuring. The only downside to the new measures that I could say is the toilet situation. Might be worth while reviewing this as at time’s the one in one out idea can sometimes become problematic. But other than that loving all the new measures in place and really enjoyed being back

Great pub / restaurant , first visit since lock down , very well run , social distance measures were very strict really felt safe in the pub great food fantastic prices and brilliant staff very helpful and obligation definitely recommend.

Lovely staff, went for lunch/dinner yesterday with family and had the pensioner size meals. delicious hot food, good portion size. the young girls who were working were so pleasant and friendly. Sadia was especially nice and made us feel so welcome. Will definately be back next time I'm up north.

went here a few times for karaoke bouncer and other staff always make us feel welcome drinks are also very reasonable price this place is busy in evenings but not mobbed just the way i like it good friendly bar cant comment on food as never had food here on this occasion .

I visited the exchange the other day and the steak pie was the best I've ever tasted. The portion sizes are very generous and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Cant wait to go back again!

The food was good value. Three courses plus coffee was £15.The cabaret was a very good singer who was happy to do requests. There is a small dancing area, but impromptu dancers were popping up here and there.Drinks are reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient. There is ample security on the door to deter potential troublemakers. I will certainly go back.

Myself and my partner paid a visit to the exchange today for lunch..very dissapointed food was cold sent mine back it came back less than 2 minutes later heated up in a microwave very un professional..i will be telling friends and family about this and never again will use this place again!!!!

We came here as a couple not expecting much by the look of this pub selling pub grub alongside a so called run down pub to very good steak pie and macaroni. And value for money

Didnt eat here, so reviewing as a bar. First visit here and was well impressed. The drink prices are on a par if not better than Wetherspoons if that's possible. Nicely decorated bar with pleasant stagg. Even offered free sandwiches that night. Would happily return.

Came back here again with my wife and once again enjoyed the steak pie and fish ..at a good price ..the food is lovely and well presented ..very good pub grub here and prices are low ..highly recomend here for dinner

Visit here as often as possible, and no need for a menu, steak pie is to die for, friendly staff make it even better...

Pop in here for a light lunch and a couple of drinks. So glad we did the food was suprising good - we just had the sharing platter which was extremely tasty. The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back when we come to east kilbride as it is one the the friendliest pubs we have been in for a long time.

What an excellent restaurant. The menu is very variable and quality and quantity is excellent. The staff were friendly and the view overlooking the sea front was lovely.If we are ever back in Thurso, we'll certainly be back at this restaurant.

This joint has the best staff and chefs in EK as far as i am concerned. Cant do enough for you. will be back time and time again!

Was at a wake here today and what fab service. The waiter that looked after us was Chris. He went above and beyond in the way that he looked after us. Pleasant, cheerful and friendly he was. A cheeky table of Scousers was not a problem to him. We enjoyed our lentil soup, with bread for dipping . Sandwiches, coffee and tea. Excellent service. Will be back next time we are in East Kilbride.

We’ve eaten in here twice for lunch. The first was having the fish (fresh and crispy batter) and chips, my wife had the Cajun chicken pasta. The second visit was soup and the steak pie. Both visits were pleasant and the food was homemade which makes a difference. Would eat here again.

Came to exchange for lunch with my wife today and can only say that prices on food were just ok as the portion sizes were small and staff more intereted in what punters at wanted . Not a good atmosphere at 2 in the afternoon .tryin to get a waiter service to top up drinks is a joke ..dont think we will be back here as the alcohlics are more important than eating customers ..more of a den this place for alcoholics

Drink in here one to two times a week. Usually 4 staff on but you always have to wait ages to get served. There will he onestocking a fridge. Obe mopping the floor. One doing the restaurant side. Serving customers should be priority. One serving most of the time is not enough for the amount of customers.

Usely l get a good meal out of here soup was good but waited to long for main meal staff don't seem to bother at all would never go back very disappointing

Tried for the first time today . Steak pie delicious. We actually commented to each other about the friendly polite staff Then we read the reviews and could not believe we were in the same place . Toilets clean and plentyful

Pros and N o Pros- Pros first. Excellent food- home cooked, great variety, very reasonably priced. Drink quite reasonable, good selection. Plenty of staff, so service is quick, and staff are pleasant. Loads of tellies, if you're in to watch fitba- no matter where you sit, you can always see a telly. Now, the No Pros- huge crowd of smelly smokers to negotiate just to get in the front door. The air conditioning is non-existent- it was a very warm day when we visited, so not only was it uncomfortably warm in the pub, but the place totally STANK of fish! The toilets were completely disgusting. Would visit again, perhaps only for the duration of a football game. Wee tip- they don't take debit or credit cards- I find that very odd!

This day & age and the pub that serves food only until 1800hr’s (6pm), won’t take cards cash only?????

Food is much better than the Witherspoon restaurant and some of the food on the menu is top drawer quality.my favourite dishes are the succulent home made steak pie and can also recommend their chicken fajitas which will satisfy even the heartiest of appetites!Service is good with staff willing to adapt menu to suit preferences also has a pensioner menu and a very good kiddy menu.great value all round!

Was in for an early dinner a couple of weeks ago. Four of us who all tried something different and can’t fault any of it! The fish was lovely and the steak pie was immense!

Muy pobre. Tienen poco control de personal hay clientes. Yo juro, pero cuando es a través de su comida no muy atractivo. La comida era mala. Los alimentos congelados y ni siquiera la calidad de comida congelada. Pero guarda su paseo barato precio 20 yardas y a conseguir un "fish and chips" es mi consejo

Looks nice from outside.went in for a meal bar staff obviously don't listen to you when ordering or is it staff in kitchen that don't read orders right!!!.I ordered fish and chips and 1\2 pint of cider only to be given a pint of cider.changed it no bother.also ordered cheese burger it came with No cheese.meals ordered at same time so I would expect them to come together. When my fish arrived said to server that there was no there was no cheese on burger Ooh came reply took it away to kitchen.When I went to eat Fish there was a Big Long Hair On It.Server just looked at it didn't say anything.told her I didn't want fish replaced So I would have SteakPie with chips and peas when it came there was No peas but chunks of Carrots and Broccoli.Had Given up by this time.Steak Pie okay.Not ideal Visit.:-(

Just been refused service at the bar as my elderly brother in law was wearing a neutral hat due to an existing medical condition. Why?

Food is resnoble and so.is the price I live the sharing plater with the mushrooms and haggis it's so filling and amazing

Ordered mixed platter for 2 then 2 steaks 1 rare .1 well done ...waited 20 mins they brought out starters and main courses at same time ...i asked can we have our starters first then main second .ok.replied waitress ....then served everthing together .sent mains back ..starter was great .but then they sent mains that have clearly been left under grill or hotplate ...both meals were disgusting over cooked and dry ..it was clear they just gave us the same mains ...complained .did not eat any thing ..asked for manager .she said sorry and didnt charge mains .but was not the point .will not eat here again..

Great place to eat if you can get past the smokers at the entrance. Service good and food good eating area at back the best . Don't get put of by the smokers at the door

Eat in the exchange regular...good food..... staff very pleasant, service is fast.....they try very hard to please everyone.

The location of the exchange should make it popular and it does. The food for lunch is really good and excellent value,however, there is a strong element of regulars in the bar who are very drunk and loud. Unfortunately this will put me off going back.

I have been here a few times and always had a lovely meal and its only £4.99 pensioners rate so a great price and brought to your table by the waitress and you don't have to wait long before being served either so I would recommend the Exchange

first thing before you enter all you can smell is smoke from all people outside and just full of old drunks the food is terrible too the only thing which was okay was the beer but would not rush back here

Their beef pie is excellent as are all the meals in here and very reasonable. Good selection of beers, cider and wines.
