The Buf Prestwick in South Ayrshire

Visited on Saturday , didn’t know the area and wanted something to eat . Food was just ok nothing memorable . Service was great and staff friendly. Food prices reasonable found drinks a bit pricey £8 for a small bottle of presecco ouch ! Feet stuck on o the floor in the way out hence the 3*

What an absolute gem . Cheap very cheerful decor and excellent food couldn’t fault it at all . Even though I only got Cheese n bacon smash burger and fries it was awesome and for under £10 Whats not to like about that . Drinks are very reasonable as well . Keep up the great work

Friend’s meal Booked a table on line Food comments . One of the best steak pies. Fish cooked perfectly. Steak was nice . Steak wraps good , my only complaint and I could be wrong there were peppers in the steak wrap that wasn’t mentioned on the menu and I don’t like them but I picked them out and still enjoyed the wrap . I still felt the consequences afterwards and if you don’t like peppers you’ll understand. I will return

Had food delivered from here but no option to leave a review on Ayr Eats that I could see. Fajitas were okay according to my partner but my gammon steak was tough, fried egg like rubber and I'm sure they couldn't have found smaller containers for the ice cream, sour cream, guacamole etc. if they'd tried. Very disappointing

Good and service amazing. Friendly staff . New menu and food was delicious. Good value for money . Lots of options and special deals midweek . Nice atmosphere.

Asked for two G&Ts. They came in very large glasses that I would expect soft drink to come in. Neither of us could taste any gin and when this was queried we were told we could have another shot of gin in the glass which we would have to pay for. Declined that. A friend told me next day that drinks are watered down and it’s common knowledge. Explains my experience.

Waited well over an hour for food - then felt the food had been cooked and left to stand a while before serving

The food was delicious and plentiful. A great selection on the menu and excellent value. Very much enjoyed our visit.

We decided to try the Buf in Prestwick for lunch 2 courses for 11 99 . Nice plate of food good size portions and good service. Great size beer garden for hot days with the family

Nice food .hot and fresh and tasty Good service and nice staff . The one piece menu so confusing with added supplements which not easy to see tried the two coarse menu and trying to pick out what was 2c and what was beer garden food and because of that we both missed the supplements. For goodness sake please get two menus and clearly mark supplements or we won't be back

Popped in for lunch. It was a lovely day so sat in the garden. Lovely spot and dog friendly. Food was lovely and my soup was the best I have ever tasted. Staff were all very friendly and even got water for my dog without having to ask. Defiantly highly recommend

was in here with a group of friends. I have mobility problems and use 2 crutches . on my way back from the toilet i stopped at the bar to order drinks , there were 2 bar staff who came straight over to ask what i would like .... i started the order only to be told that bar wasn't open and i would have to go to back bar to order , I then asked would one of them help me carry drinks and I was in turn asked (rather rudely) had i no one with me to help me as they don't do table service !!!!!!!! I was so taken aback at the attitude of these 2 young girls . I worked in hospitality myself for many years and never would have dreamt of not helping someone especially in the position I now find myself in . So I'd say this bar is either discriminating against disabled people or they need to do some serious staff training . Needless to say I left the bar disgusted at the way i was treated / spoken to !!!!!!!!

Boy who served us (mad curly hair) told us to take seat outside as was a hot day today and he’d bring drinks out. Wife was having an ice coffee and he was determined to make it to her liking so he went out his away to take it from her and redo it to make it to her taste. Cheers curly hair dude.👍

The Buff, Prestwick is a great Bar and Restaurant to visit. Lovely food and drink, not too pricey either. The service is great. Walk in, sit at a table/booth, staff will come over to you and take your order. Would definitely recommend the Buff, Prestwick, also check out the Buff, Ayr, their Kitchen is now open!

Ate here last week after hearing about how great the food was but left feeling extremely disappointed. I will never return here for food and would not recommend to anyone.

My husband and I visited for lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was first class and the staff were too. I would highly recommend everyone to visit this gem in Prestwick. We can't wait to go back.

Went in for lunch today (Easter Monday). Waited at the door and were told to take a, seat anywhere and she would bring menus right over. At this point there were 4 tables in and all had already had their orders taken. Watched several waitresses...

Went a few weeks ago, friends went to bar, security grabbed my friend by the arm and took her outside, said she was drunk, yet they allowed us all in, we had a drink but not drunk!!! said they are allowed to man handle people,...

F’ing wow! The tempura dirty fries are possibly the most amazing thing I have ever eaten I wasn’t even hungry and now I’m going to burst! Amazing. Everyone cleared their plates, but the 2 of us with the dirty fries mains literally ate muttering ‘mmmmmmm”...

Make up their prices as they go along, £30 for 9 shots then £32 for 13. Was with friends and had vouchers. Obviously seen the vouchers and decided to chance it

Bouncers and bar staff are terrible couldnt run a bath, toilets are a mess, bouncers think they can speak to anyone like rubbish, and bar staff stopped serving some of us drink saying we had enough ee had only been out 1 hour

Amazing service and the food was stunning, servers Ellie and James were one of the best I’ve ever had! Couldn’t recommend more! Drinks were made amazing and class chat from the people serving them! Will definitely be back!

Very rude service. The way we were spoken to was belittling and down grading, which is a shame as the place is lovely and good vibes.

Popped in for a drink today. Not impressed with they’re COVID arrangements at all. 2 tables with 8 females. Nothing like 1 meter apart. This worries me. People walking walker about without masks (staff)

Stopped off for lunch, all day breakfast sounded good but should have gone for the small one, portions are very generous and great value. Staff very attentive. Amazing garden area

My friend and I came in for a late lunch during a day out in Prestwick. We both decided the £5 main courses sounded ideal. We both had Cajun chicken crepes which were served with fries. We both enjoyed our meal, which was extremely tasty...

Upon walking in the decor is rustic and cosy. There were plenty of booths (with individual TV's!) to chose from as well as regular seating (tables and chairs nearer the bar area). Decent amount of lighting, a lot of wooden surfaces and lots of open space makes it nice whether hot or cool outside. The staff were really attentive and eager to help. Three of the staff tried to take our order before we had a chance to even look at anything. A tiny bit annoying, but better overly attentive and not attentive enough! Pretty much everything on the menu was £5! So cheap. I didn't get my hopes up about quality or portion sizes. My partner and I ordered two (lets call them) tapas at £5 and one side of £2. So £12 all in. We didn't finish and struggled to eat as much as we did. The food could have come out a little faster as it wasn't particularly busy, but far from the longest we've had to wait for food. Here is the downside...the drinks are a bit pricey in The BUF. A bottle of Prosecco is more than most other low to mid-range restaurants charge by about 20-25% (About £4 more expensive). If you're going for lunch and your just having one drink...you will pretty much end up spending the same amount as you would in another restaurant, but the food would be more like mainstream meals. I would go to The BUF again, but only for the food with a soft drink. I am still giving it five stars though as, I cannot fault much else with The BUF nor the staff. Special thanks to the staff for being so attentive.

Was here with a group of around 20 people, we had a meal and drinks which unfortunately was interupted by torrential rain outside coming down the inside wall and onto one side of our table. The staff were so helpful, moved us to dry tables straight away while they did what they could to clear up the water. After the rain let up we were able to go back to the group table and we were offered a discount on the overall bill. The food was lovely, the staff were great and with no time limit, kareoke and dancing the whole crowd stayed here all night. Great night as always.

Popped in for a bar lunch and a couple of drinks, friendly staff and an absolutely massive beer garden. Two mains and two pints was £15. The food was very good. Tennents Lager £2.50 a pint

Visited here for a few beers on a Sunny Thursday night at the end of June. Sun terrace was busy but we still got a seat OK. Pints of perfect ice cold draught Tennent’s for £2.50, sun in your face and no numpty’s to be seen. Best beer garden in Prestwick.

We decided to pop in for lunch today as we do at least once a week,we popped through to eat in the beer garden,but it was very busy,so decided to sit inside at a booth.There were no menus on the tables,so we waited a good 10 minutes for someone to bring them,when this didnt haooen,i went to the bar where a group of staff were arguing amongst themselves regarding seating arrangements in the beer garden,and one was heard to say "they can't start moving all the tables about,they stay where they are"............"they" obviously being their customers in the beer garden.I asked the waitress for some menus,to which i was told "nope sorry,no food being served cos we have a big group of 30 in the beer garden".So,i then asked so because you have a large group sitting outside drinking,people in your bar area(which was dead) cannot get lunch and she just shrugged her shoulders.We then left to go elsewhere,but find that this treatment of customers (regular or not) is a joke,Don't have a beer garden open if you cannot cope with a lot of people using it ,resulting in a detrimental effect on your other customers,and i hope that tomorrow when the rain is due and the beer garden empty,they have a better attitude to people wanting lunch inside!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Buf has recently launched a Curry Wednesday evening... buy an alcoholic drink and get a curry in a bowl. One pint of 7 Peaks IPA and I got a good-sized bowl of rice and a chicken curry on top which had large chunks of chicken and a really tasty sauce. Could not fault it, even better value than you’d expect. Coupled with with great interaction with the team on behind the bar and excellent service... well, why wouldn’t you? Hurry along.

Regular in here and can’t fault it in anyway. Great prices, foods great, even better is that the staff are all extremely helpful and go above and beyond. Absolutely excellent!

Great pub , £5 meal deal and huge beer garden . Would absolutely recommend especially on a sunny day.

Try the new menu, it’s in the window. We enjoyed lunch steak pie and gammon steak. Staff were very helpful but it wasn’t busy. There was no football on!

Went in for a lunch on Tuesday after seeing the advert on Facebook for a main and a pint for £10. Chalk board outside detailed the " fresh menu ". As soon as we went in a very polite waitress told us the kitchen was closed and recommended two other places very nearby. Thoroughly disappointed and think the website and boards outside should be updated to advise this.

I was at The Buf last night catching up with friends and Grant behind the bar couldn't have been more friendly and provided excellent service.

Always enjoyed a drink and sometimes a meal here. My Mrs and I quite enjoyed it. Thought we would pop in for a snack and a drink on Saturday afternoon.

Decided to eat here on Friday night after hearing about the chef, who previously worked at a place in Ayr, had moved here. Was not disappointed. Food was excellent, as good as I remember. We chose cajun crepes, enchiladas, burger and tempura and all were fab. Great value too.

Had an enjoyable lunch here on Saturday. Place wasn't busy but the food and value was good.

Went in tonight with wife . Wife had chicken tempura which was cooked to perfection with 2 dips and myself, prawn cocktail with bread and butter which was lovely. Both had sirloin steaks also beautiful, plus the onion rings were nice and dry , not soggy like most places , then chocolate fudge cake and ice cream , all irresistible! Tenants pint only 2.50 . Best part was the bill which was very reasonable for what we had . Keep up the good work - the buf !!

Called in for a drink, place has been renovated and is really nice, only problem was there are televisions every where, 5 booths s all with televisions, plus to wide screens on the walls, through at the bar more tv`s all turned on full blast to a football match . A dozen or more football followers roaring at the screens, unbelievable, service was good and selection of good beer, never ate but food looked good. suppose this is what you would call a "sports bar". might try again when there is no football on

Stopped off for lunch on Monday and enjoyed their 2 for 1 offer on mains. Great deal. Macaroni cheese was excellent as was the burger and chips. Being a Monday it was very quiet so we sat outside in the beer garden area and staff looked after us well. We often visit here for drinks in the summer and sit outside. Has a good buzz about it. Inside during the winter it can be a squeeze if it’s busy but all in it’s a good bar and now discovered it does tasty food too. Would definitely recommend.

Cajun chicken crepes were amazing and on the buy one get one free on main courses deal! chicken tempura for starters, very good portion.

Went for lunch with a friend, we were the only customers in the restaurant which wasn't an issue. My friend decided that she would like a chicken tempura starter and some garlic bread and I settled on the creamy cajun crepes.

Great good and good atmosphere on a Saturday night . Prices are mid range. The staff are friendly.They have a brilliant beer garden

The Wick is now the Buf, and the makeover is pretty cool, with booths at the front, the bar in the muddle,and a made over beer garden at the back.

Looks can deceive, this place gives the impression of being pretty small but step inside and it goes on, and on, and on.
