Me and the family visited the restaurant we had the pleasure of meeting Katy, who worked there she was very helpful and informative if she isn't the supervisor or manager she should be. Went in around 1.30 on a Saturday to a sparse pub. Very few customers. We didn't have food therefore we gave an average rating. The drinks were foul. We ordered 3 pints. 1 strongbow, 1 Madri, 1 menabrea. The Madri was sent straight back due to being cloudy, flat and a slight taste of vinegar. The strongbow had a very strong smell. Potentially like excrement. The staff agreed but done nothing about it. The glass was cloudy and tasted horrible. Would absolutely not recommend this pub, only went in for a pint but would be never go in again. Weirdly enough, staff were wearing gloves the whole time we were there. No reason for this, just thought it odd.

Brilliant took my grandson and his school friend and they had a brilliant time in the sunshine

Food good value. Staff unfriendly and every table is full of dirty plates. Everyone has to clear their own table to sit down. Need more staff or fire the ones they have.

Worst food ever had without a doubt did I complain yes I was offered 5 pounds of the bill I payed the remainder of bill with reluctance toilets were a disgrace sad to say this place was the worst established that I ever tried

I visited the BUF on Saturday 13th April 2025 and received amazing customer service from the bartender Stephen. I had a very bad cold and couldn’t speak well as the busy bar, the bartended Stephen was very accommodating to myself and girlfriend and made the full experience very easy for myself multiple times throughout the night . I thanked him at the time and asked if there was a way to review his customer service and he gave me a very modest reply. Something along the lines of “you don’t need to review me, this is my job don’t worry” I had to leave a review though, 10/10 customer service and if there is any way to give him a direct tip I would love to. Good food, good coffee, good atmosphere. We always enjoy our food and the service is always friendly. Home made soup and breakfasts are always very enjoyable.

This is a local for our friends so decided to try again unfortunately. The mussels though a fair sized portion were really too small and hardly any taste to them. The buffalo chicken wings were awful, thick batter I’d to scrape off as too tough/crisp to eat. The beef burger was perhaps worst they’d tasted. Curries were alright but tbh tasted better. Steak and ale pie seemed to go down well. Long wait for our meals and one main was missing so had to wait for it though tbf didn’t wait too long. Desserts were alright. All food very well presented. Didn’t have drink we wanted and didn’t enjoy drinks we had. Coffee was good. Price was fair and staff very nice but apart from that sorry didn’t enjoy at all.

Very little vegetarian food and hot vegetarian toasties almost never available When asked if they could prepare a fresh toastie advised that they had no cheese at 1pm therefore has to sit with friends who were eating without any food. Very poor service

Always friendly staff food is lovely can't find a fault with the place very handy as it's close to my work always a good selection of food on offer
