This place was one of our favourite holiday ‘finds’ after meandering along the long, beautiful road from Glenelg, not knowing what was at the end (our favourite past time). That was 8 years ago and we discovered the best home-made salmon quiche I’ve ever tasted set in tiny area of eclectic seating with the local fauna sitting at your feet, all set with a stunning backdrop. Everything about it felt home-made in its genuine sense- like a reward for travellers rather than a cafe. We felt we’d found the world’s best kept secret.. So we returned. All just as beautiful and the food just as delicious, just with a place to sit inside if the clouds let go. So glad Sheena’s is going strong.

If you're looking for a truly unique and delightful afternoon tea experience, look no further than this charming, Highland cow-themed afternoon tea! From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with a warm, rustic atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the highland surroundings, with incredible views of Loch Ness. But the real stars of the show, aside from the delicious food, are the adorable Highland cows you'll get to meet and feed—an experience that made the day feel truly magical. I fell in love with them all! Now, onto the food: everything is homemade, and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The homemade sausage rolls are nothing short of perfection—flaky, buttery pastry with a savory filling that's so flavorful it’s hard to stop at just one. Then there’s the Monte Cristo toasted sandwiches—crispy, golden bread with a perfect balance of sweet and savory that had us talking about them all evening. Each dish felt thoughtful, fresh, and made with top-quality ingredients. And of course, no afternoon tea would be complete without freshly baked scones. These scones were simply divine—light, fluffy, and served with generous helpings of clotted cream and jam. The home baking really shines, too, with a selection of treats that perfectly capture the spirit of the place, including the most charming Highland cow cupcakes! Each one was not only adorable but also moist, rich, and absolutely delicious. What we also loved about our time was there was no rush or pressure, it's not about turn over here, it's a homely and relaxing environment to be and all served at a lovely leisurely pace. Thank you Isla and the family for making us feel so at home! After reading a few negative reviews before our visit, I can only assume some people are simply impossible to please! Every part of the experience—from the food to the Highland cows—was fantastic, and it's clear the staff go out of their way to create a memorable afternoon. Honestly, I can’t imagine how anyone could leave here without a smile on their face. It’s a rare find where both the food and the ambiance work together to create something truly special. For anyone looking for a little whimsy, a lot of flavour, and a chance to get up close with some of Scotland’s most iconic animals, this is an absolute must! Hearts and tummies will both go away full and smiling 😊

Our second visit to the cafe and it was just as good as the first. Messaged on Facebook before we went and received a very quick reply. It was open for takeaway only so the tea room's tables were removed, creating plenty of space to move around in. A wide selection of food available for mid-morning on a Tuesday, including a great selection of cakes. Gluten free cake option available, as well as a range of cakes. We had four different ones between us and each one was, just delicious!

What a fantastic find on Skye. We called in for a coffee in the morning, which was very good. After exploring the area for a few hours, beyond the cafe, I suggested to my husband we call in for a bite for lunch as there was not much else open between this place, and going to the Nest Lighthouse. We enjoyed the Quiche and salad, and a delicious piece of home baked slide. A delightful setting and with the sunny day, it was fabulous to sit outside the Yurt and in the garden, enjoying the scenery. Fabulous, friendly service too, and value for money, i.e. not expecting save for the coffee, slices or meal.

Fantastic brunch, arrived during a very bust spell, staff stayed cheerful and friendly and we got seated within 10 mins, I had Turkish egg and they were very good and very spice, Hubby had the black pudding skillet he said it was very good again something was spicy, the sourdough bread was a star. We also had a sweet treat each, myself a black forest doughnut this was amazing and hubby on the recommendation of another customer had the carrot cake this was also amazing we both also had a coffee each. I definitely recommend rain, for friendly staff, delicious well priced food and lovely atmosphere.

Delicious food, hot strong coffee, pleasant service, limited tables, got very busy, nicely decorated venue with lovely views. Would just say the menu is limited. However will definitely be back, clean and bright place to eat

My husband and me are regulars at EM’s so today when we visited we were saddened to see that she is closing down today. The baking has always been first class and the friendly staff, amazing. EM’s will be greatly missed in Dingwall. All that is left for me to say is that we wish Emily and her staff all the very best in the future. A truely brilliant baker.

This was a lovely wee stop en route to Gairloch and to be honest, not where we had originally planned to stop off. Forming part of the Lochcarron Golf Club but not quite located in the main part of the village, this was a no nonsense, comfortable café. We were greeted by a lovely waitress - she made my four year old son feel right at home and let him look after their ‘Baby Buddha’ ornament (Buddha’s are an obsession of his). She was proper helpful and without fuss, even done us takeaway food for my wife, who was babysitting in the motorhome. We ordered a few things but my Eggs & Avocado on Toast were done perfectly (runny Yolks / smooth Avocado). My Coffee was spot on and well needed after a long drive without any sort of stop off points. My son devoured his Scrambled Egg on Toast. The food was nothing out of this world but for me, it was just good home-cooking eaten at the exact right time! An added bonus of the location made this driving break even better - overlooking the Loch Carron inlet and miles of blue sky and greenery. I’d confidently say it falls into the hidden gem category of NC500 eateries - don’t be put off by the Golf Club pavilion facade!
