Visited here with my wife for my birthday treat. Absolutely beautiful high tea. Well worth the money as I felt so special. Amazing view from the tea room. Delicious food. Loved feeding the cows, they are adorable. A really great place. You must book though!

We called in on a whim today to feed the beautiful Highland cows and wow were we glad we did! My daughters were thrilled to get to feed the baby coos. Very friendly staff! We thought £20 for the 4 of us was very reasonable. Beautiful memories made today!!

If you're looking for a truly unique and delightful afternoon tea experience, look no further than this charming, Highland cow-themed afternoon tea! From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with a warm, rustic atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the highland surroundings, with incredible views of Loch Ness. But the real stars of the show, aside from the delicious food, are the adorable Highland cows you'll get to meet and feed—an experience that made the day feel truly magical. I fell in love with them all! Now, onto the food: everything is homemade, and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The homemade sausage rolls are nothing short of perfection—flaky, buttery pastry with a savory filling that's so flavorful it’s hard to stop at just one. Then there’s the Monte Cristo toasted sandwiches—crispy, golden bread with a perfect balance of sweet and savory that had us talking about them all evening. Each dish felt thoughtful, fresh, and made with top-quality ingredients. And of course, no afternoon tea would be complete without freshly baked scones. These scones were simply divine—light, fluffy, and served with generous helpings of clotted cream and jam. The home baking really shines, too, with a selection of treats that perfectly capture the spirit of the place, including the most charming Highland cow cupcakes! Each one was not only adorable but also moist, rich, and absolutely delicious. What we also loved about our time was there was no rush or pressure, it's not about turn over here, it's a homely and relaxing environment to be and all served at a lovely leisurely pace. Thank you Isla and the family for making us feel so at home! After reading a few negative reviews before our visit, I can only assume some people are simply impossible to please! Every part of the experience—from the food to the Highland cows—was fantastic, and it's clear the staff go out of their way to create a memorable afternoon. Honestly, I can’t imagine how anyone could leave here without a smile on their face. It’s a rare find where both the food and the ambiance work together to create something truly special. For anyone looking for a little whimsy, a lot of flavour, and a chance to get up close with some of Scotland’s most iconic animals, this is an absolute must! Hearts and tummies will both go away full and smiling 😊

Visited today with my friend, mum, and great-aunt and had a wonderful afternoon tea. It had a lovely, homely atmosphere. Having the highland coos with their calfs and Loch Ness behind, made it the perfect highland experiences. Between the four of us we’ve had many cream teas in our lifetime, and agreed that these were the best scone we’d ever had! The entire afternoon tea was delicious, clearly a lot of skill and love had gone into making every element. We’ll be coming here again soon!

We were on our way to a family wedding a short distance away and decided to make a reservation (recommended) for lunch and a coo visit. So glad we did! Three of the cows were pregnant during our visit and discovered one had her baby a couple of days after. Lunch was good and plentiful. The highlight was definitely feeding those incredibly cute Highland Coos!!

Overall this was an excellent experience. I have rated it 5 star despite a couple of minor hiccups. Booking was a bit tricky. I emailed and got no response. I whatsapped and did get a response but no booking confirmation. Then after nudging, I did manage to get it booked (afternoon tea for a family of 4). When we arrived on the day the booking was mistakingly in the diary for 2 people instead of 4. The only table was therefore small, but we managed to squeeze in 2 extra seats. The staff were so lovely and managed to add more food to the afternoon tea they had already prepared, so it was enough for all 4 of us. The food, the setting, the views, the decor and of course the gorgeous coos, were all an absolute delight. We didn’t mind about the small issues because the staff were so lovely and made us feel welcome. Thank you for a lovely meal. We would highly recommend to others.

We went today for the Highland Coo tea and we were so happy! The overall food was good and we thought a ton of food for the price! The family could easily charge double for the experience and the food but we loved that it was an affordable experience. The money Cristo and hummingbird cupcake was our favorite part but honestly all of it was tasty! Feeding the cows was so fun. We had an amazing time and would recommend!

I found this place on Instagram while researching for my trip. It looked adorable, so I decided to stop on my way to Inverness from Fort William. I had a quick lunch of the brie, peaches, and thyme grilled cheese, plus a mars cookie. The food was pretty solid. A highlight, of course, is the ability to feed their highland cows. As their popularity grows, I would encourage a reservation if that works in your plans. Parking can also be a little challenging, as it’s a small lot along a hill. But, it’s worth it!

A rustic style cafe in a scenic location, but couldn't see why it was so highly rated. The food was fine but coffee was weak and some of our crockery was cracked. Overall the cafe interior looked as if it could do with a good clean and the outside area needed better maintained. The Highland cows were a definite draw for anyone not accustomed to seeing these magnificent beasts. We were amused to see the cafe owners selling very small bags of cattle nuggets for £5 each, so that people could feed the cows. No harm in maximising income!

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.
