Visited The Cambridge on Saturday. Ordered a burger with bacon and cheese. £17.50 whoa ridiculously over priced, bacon was inedible and fries were a £3.50 option. £21.00 plus 10% service charge. Absolutely ripping off people locals and tourists alike. Had better and cheaper in London and New York. This is Edinburgh now come on.

Super comfortable spot and shame it’s closed, hoping for a good replacement. Had solid peaty whiskey selection!

An old house with lots of charm. Very attentive staff. Delicious food in the restaurant and good bus connections to Edinburgh.

Fantástico lugar para el brunch y mucho más. Paramos aquí en nuestro último día en Edimburgo y lo único que lamentamos fue que no lo encontramos antes. Buena comida y servicio. Un lugar que vale la pena visitar cuando está en la ciudad.

Our first food and drink in Edinburgh and it was very good. Friendly and helpful bar staff, good pub food and ales. Loaded nachos and homemade chili were tasty. The Cottage Pie also gets high marks. Beautifully restored interior. Outside seating area also available.

Had a lovely meal, very relaxed atmosphere and the team were friendly. The food was lovely and well presented. Would visit again when in Edinburgh.

Appalling experience here. We tried to move dirty plated from one table to another only to be screamed at by the manageress from across the cafe in full view of everyone else: ‘ Don’t dirty another table!’ ‘ Don’t dirty another table I said!’ We just left and won’t be back. Do not come here unless you are into ritual humiliation

Great food, atmosphere and good prices, lost my wallet bouncer handed it in got it back, was impressed by that offered guy few quid to get a drink, he refused said was his job. One happy customer 2nd visit here will be back

Netter Pub, aber überteuertes Essen. Fish and Chips geschmacklich gut, aber etwas wässriger Fisch. Toiletten fast genauso versifft wie in anderen Pubs. Man hat das Gefühl sich nach dem Hände waschen die Hände waschen zu müssen.

Wonderful service from the manager who put on some extra wedges for us when they ran out. Some genuinely lovely Scottish custom. Tasty food and good prices. What's not to like?
