Nuestro almuerzo temático navideño de tres platos fue absolutamente encantador. El servicio era estelar, la comida era abundante pero no demasiado y todos sabían deliciosos. ¡Me sorprende que este café no tenga una calificación más alta! Ubicado en el corazón del casco antiguo en un edificio absolutamente glorioso, ¡estoy tan feliz de habernos detenido!

Gran hallazgo. El delicioso sándwich de salchicha para mí y mamá disfrutó su sándwich de tocino. El personal muy amable también. Recomiendo este lugar

Visité Edimburgo mucho con mi familia y anteriormente encontré que el centro de la galería era un excelente lugar para almorzar. Visité durante el verano en un grupo grande y desordenaron el pedido por completo y el servicio era deficiente. Estaba visitando nuevamente hoy y desafortunadamente los mismos problemas eran aparentes. Hay una falta de capacitación aquí, el personal no limpia los platos, el orden se volvió a estropear y, a pesar de que la comida se sirve rápidamente a un buen nivel, la experiencia del servicio literalmente arruinó el almuerzo. Pensamos que le daríamos a este lugar otra oportunidad ya que siempre nos encantó visitar cuando en Edimburgo. Más personal, mejor capacitación podría hacer que sea grandioso nuevamente. Probablemente no volveré, dos huelgas y muchos otros lugares locales para probar. Como dije, verdadera vergüenza.

Das Lokal hat Bahnhofscharakter, ist überteuert und Speisen nicht gut.Der Kakao ist extrem wassrig (habe in Schottland sehr gute Kakaos getrunken!!!)

Lamento decir que realmente me ofendió pagar mi almuerzo. Frijoles y queso al horno ordenados: se los devolvió, ya que apenas había una cucharada de frijoles en un enorme charco de queso derretido (luego endurecido), la forma más extraña de presentar una papa y queso horneados que he visto, claramente en el microondas. Al menos se le dio el queso y un plato de alubias más decente (pero aún pequeño). Otro hijo ordenó el pollo y las papas fritas - mediano - no esperaba un pedazo pequeño de pollo y solo una carga de papas fritas - grande hubiera sido una porción normal. Si el precio hubiera sido razonable, no me habría importado tanto, pero era demasiado caro para una comida decepcionante. Especialmente molesto después de haber preguntado si podíamos comer afuera, nos dijeron que podíamos encontrar el menú completo afuera, así que tuve que volver. Cuando me quejé de la comida, un miembro del personal incluso admitió que cuesta se estaban cortando, no sé si eso es cierto, pero tengo que decir que parecía que los tamaños de las porciones eran mucho más pequeños que la última vez que visité. Muy decepcionante. Claro que está bien para un pastel y una bebida, pero no volvería a comer aquí.

ランチにスープとパンのセットを頂きました。 オレンジと人参のスープがとても美味しかったです。胃もたれ気味だったのですが優 しい味で助かりました。。お値段もお手頃だったと思います。 軽めにさくっと食べるのに良い店だと思います。

Im Cafe Hub bekommt man bis 17 Uhr leckere Kleinigkeiten zum essen, Kuchen, Suppe,gebackene Kartoffel, Salate und leckere Burger. Der Service ist sehr nett, die Preise sind etwas höher wie in den umliegenden Strassen das ist aber auf der Royal Mile fast überall so. Man kann innen oder bei schönem Wetter außen sitzen und das bunte Treiben beobachten.

une petite table pour déjeuner dans un lieu unique , une ancienne église . Bon plat du jour ou pour un thé et une pâtisserie. c'est jeune , personnel aimable et il y a des toilettes dans l'entrée pour les petits besoins après une longue marche dans les rues . Wifi gratuit en tapant le code sur les menus . Du coup, à chaque visite ou en passant devant , mes messages arrivaient ! pâtisseries bonnes et très bon thé . très bon capuccino ou chocolat .

The location is fantastic, but the atmosphere is impersonal. The service is not particularly courteous, poorly trained, they know very little if anything at all about the dishes. We were given mixed messages, tossed from one side to another, table, counter, back to table, our orders took forever and they still gave us a hard time because they could not find where we were. The food? Nothing special. Unfortunate menu specials such as carrot and CORIANDER put us off immediately. I notice the manager acknowledging some of the negative reviews here, but perhaps he/she should spend a lot more time training the staff in proper customer service. The Edinburgh experience deserves something better than this current scenario is offering us.

Left the Camera obscura part way through and popped over the road to here for lunch. Children’s meals were burgers and sandwich with fries was our choice. Setting is lovely, service from Eniko was great, food was nice. Popped back to the Camera to finish our adventures. Cash only for tips. I didn’t have any and couldn’t add it to my card.

Wanted to pop in here for a quick drink but what I entered was the slowest most unorganised chaotic drink of my life. Upon entering the bar it says “ please wait to be seated” so as per the the sign I waited for 5 minutes to order a drink. After waiting along with other people I noticed one of the tills which said “Order here for outside” So I queued at this till for another 5 minutes until I managed to get served and given a number to again wait in another line for my drinks to be served. This 3rd queue took over 5 minutes for my drink to be made along with lots of other customers in the same boat. Looking at the kitchen it just looked like an unorganised hell, staff just rushing round aimlessly with no idea what they were doing. To summarise 15 minutes and 3 separate queues which eventually provided me with two over priced drinks. Go to spoons and save yourself this hell

Nourriture de qualité très médiocre et sans goût. Dessert soit disant au chocolat et aux fraises qui n’en avait pas. On vous éjecte presque dehors pour faire de la place aux suivants. Bref 1 fois mais pas 2.

Tra una visita e l’altra abbiamo fatto sosta a questo ristorantino posto all’interno del centro eventi della città. Ci hanno servito un “ tagliere “ con una serie di assaggi secondo l’uso locale, uovo fritto, salcicciotti-würstel, bacon grigliato, frittelline di patata, pomodoro grigliato anch’esso. Non particolarmente raffinato, ma curato e sufficiente a tamponare l’apperito di mezzogiorno. Prezzo finale più che onesto. Se non si hanno pretese di un pranzo più raffinato, é una buona scelta, anche per il servizio rapido ed efficiente.

Paramos a tomar un cafe y chocolates y estaba todo delicioso. Nos encantó. Las tartas y los chocolates estaban muy ricos. Un lugar muy recomendable par tomar algo.

Siamo stati qui al cafè the hub per un pranzetto veloce tra una visita e l'altra. Non solo era molto buono, siamo stati serviti velocemente, ma il posto l'ho trovato un incanto. Era tutto perfetto... le luci, la musica di sottofondo e i bagni puliti hanno reso piacevole anche dedicarsi velocemente al"restauro" per continuare nella visita a questa città fantastica. Mangiare qui è stato come non cambiare atmosfera ma continuare a sognare in un altro secolo.

Nada de otro mundo, pero ideal para hacer un alto en la recorrida. Sobre la Royal Mile -en la que antiguamente fue una iglesia, y ahora centro cultural- se encuentra este café, donde además puedes degustar comidas rápidas de buena calidad. Si tienes que hacer un alto...hazlo aquí.

We stopped in for soup and a sandwich. Given that it was a wet day in January, the cafe was nowhere near full, but our food still took a ridiculously long time to arrive. We won’t bother going there again.

Warm & friendly staff. Soothing atmosphere. Tasteful drinks. Would deffo recommend this place for an chilled coffee, the staff also took music request. Great place !

We came accross this cafe whilst walking down the Royal Mile from the Castle. The staff were reasonably friendly and the food of a great quality and good price. Both of us had the soup and a sandwhich plus tea and coffee. It arrived promptly and looked and tasted great. A nice experience for lunch and handy for tourist trails.

Visited this venue for a full wedding celebration on 29/09/18, how can I describe it mmm yea mr bean , Dumb and Dummer, the goonies all films might i add.

Anytime I go to Edinburgh, I make sure I stop by Cafe Hub. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is always very good.

This restaurant is hidden. The Festival Centre is at the little plaza/roundabout where the final walking approach to Edinburgh Castle begins. You would think that the Centre is a boring set of offices, but on the first floor is the kind of restaurant/café that you see in art museums. A nice big space, with a casual atmosphere. The food is excellent. Even the basic soup and sandwich combination had some unique things going for it. The soup had great seasoning, was tasty, and was hot, not lukewarm. The sandwich was on a homemade bread, with just the right trimmings. The price was not high. Take a break from the pubs and fast food and try something classy.,

La cuisine n'est pas démente, mais le personnel très gentil et efficace, et manger là, en terrasse, juste avant le début du Tattoo est assez agréable car on peut observer la foule qui bruisse déjà en convergeant vers les portes, et se mettre dans l'ambiance.

I ate a BLT with avocado (had some zip). It was the best BLT I’ve ever eaten - ever, Scottish smoked bacon is the best in the world!

Tomar un capuchino en este café ubicado dentro de una iglesia en pleno centro de Edimburgo fue un placer.

We stopped in for lunch after exploring the Edinburgh Castle. This was during the Fringe Festival, so the whole area was very crowded. In fact we went as other places we wanted to try were full up. Their loss was our gain.

Great meal before the tattoo. We had minute steaks, burgers, chicken and salads between us and everything was tasty and hot. We commented several times how hard the waitresses were working and it's a light, airy space. Amazing to get such a reasonably priced meal right in the centre of town and next to the castle and the hugely priced witchery. Highly recommended. And you can book!

Paramos aquí para café y pastel durante el borde. Un edificio fabuloso y mucho más tranquilo que el de otros muchos con un montón de espacio. Tarta de chocolate sin gluten tenían gratis, lo cual es fantástico para mí y mi marido tenía la tarta de chocolate normal (3 libras. 95 cada uno). Tanto añadimos una cucharada de helado (2€ por cucharada) y teníamos un G&T; (sí, es con licencia) 5 libras. 50 cada uno.

La comida es buena y el servicio también muy ambiente relajado nos hubiera gustado quedarnos más tiempo, pero estábamos en punta esperamos volver pronto.

Vine aquí para el almuerzo en nuestro primer día en Edimburgo. Originalmente (después de una espera sentado a ser notado) sobre un sofá, nuestro pedido fue tomado y luego decidimos cambiar a una mesa ya que estábamos comiendo sopa. Después de 30 minutos, la comida y la bebida no había llegado. Nos señalan una camarera y estaba claro de nuestra orden no había sido puesto. Tomó otra 15 minutos para llegar a nada a nuestra mesa. Una disculpa sin importancia era el gerente para el "escándalo", pero este no era aceptable por parte de la dirección. Nuestra camarera, quien cometió el error de hecho era encantador y se disculparon y nos dio dinero de nuestra recipt. Sin embargo, no debería tener que esperar 45 minutos para dos sopas y una comida casera. La comida era demasiado caro y no era sin sabor y sopa caliente, quemado. Nos fuimos decepcionados y amargo en nuestro primer día. No comer aquí de nuevo seguro.

Paramos a comer y pedimos enseguida. Nos dieron una comida bastante rápido. Las patatas fritas eran deliciosos. Las hamburguesas un poco demasiado y demasiado pimienta. restos carbonizados El bocadillo de salmón estaba bueno. Sin embargo, 50 minutos más tarde nos dimos cuenta que no había entendido la orden de nuestro hijo y nada era volver para él. Lo arreglaron pero deshecha la factura. Mientras todo fue corregido, fue una experiencia un poco frustrante ya que estábamos en un autobús turístico de la ciudad y estaban deseosos de volver a bordo.

Se volete fare uno spuntino rapido con un hamburger veramente di qualità, servito guarnito in una terrazza sul passeggio di Edimburgo.

Habíamos ido a la oficina de seguridad a mediados de la tarde y decidimos viviendo el momento de ir para el té de la tarde. Resultó ser absolutamente la decisión correcta. El servicio era amable y servicial y los cómodos asientos. El té de la tarde era encantadora: los bocadillos eran frescos y sabrosos, la luz abundante y bollos con crema y mermelada el surtido de pasteles era variada, con mención especial ir a la lavanda macarrones. El té y el café que acompaña tanto 'dio en el clavo. El té de la tarde cafés hub es sin duda el mejor en Edimburgo en nuestra experiencia y sin duda volveremos ahora que hemos descubierto esta joya 'Hidden'.

Visitado por accidente esta semana. No sabía que este lugar existía, pero comeré aquí en mi próxima visita en vez de cualquier restaurante. La cafetería está limpio, amplio y la comida es excelente. La elección atiende a muchos gustos diferentes y apetitos. El menú era variado y sencillo de entender. El personal era genial y fue muy cortés a un gruñón, exigente señora visitando al mismo tiempo. Bien hecho. Me encantó la tarta de chocolate.

We popped in for a snack. Not cheap, but waiter/waitress service and lovely presentation of food. Childs meal I was very nice. Rather chilly as there is no door at the entrance to the cafe

Comimos allí porque era la hora y no encontramos sitio. No nos defraudó. No es como para recomendar, pero si llueve o se tiene hambre/sed y se busca un sitio rápido donde la comida esté bien, éste es el lugar. Tienen una fórmula puré + 1/2 sándwich que es ideal para mediodía. Había 2 purés del día y ambos estaban deliciosos.

We came today as a family. The waitresses were really friendly. There was a little muddle with the order but once we spoke to the waitress again it was all sorted.

El Moka fue uno de los peores que he probado, pero la galleta que me dieron con que era realmente delicioso. Pedí un camarero masculino por un par más y me dio un plato lleno de ellos con una sonrisa. Que más que compensó el servicio lento y casi grosero dada por una camarera de pelo largo marrón con mujeres. Yo no volvería, pero aquí está mi gracias por su amabilidad y no con la experiencia de una completa uno malo.

Siamo capitate in questo locale per caso, dopo un giro mattutino al castello di Edimburgo. È una sorta di bar/ristorante che serve colazioni,pranzi e tè delle 17:00. Noi ci siamo fermate per pranzare e siamo rimaste soddisfatte dagli hamburger scelti e dall’arredamento molto moderno ed ospitale.

My partner and I stopped here for lunch whilst exploring Edinburgh.

Just finished afternoon tea which was £25 for 3 variations of sandwich which was plain ham, plain cheese and some mushy Indian sandwich. We got 3 tiny triangles of ham and 3 tiny pieces of cheese on the sandwiches. Cakes were average. Scones were nice and soft only got one each and they were the size of a small child’s hand. Was looking forward to it all day but very disappointed to say the least

I wasn't expecting such a nice place in a very touristic area such as Edimburgh"s castle. The food was excellent, short wait, good selection of entries and beers. Quiet and cozy.

We picked The Hub for lunch on our way back down from the Castle, and we were pretty disappointed with...

Muy competente, bien, bien convertido en inglés, personal servicial y educado que sirve buena comida y bebidas de calidad del café. Este salón de té es agradablemente tranquilo, espacioso y relajante. Es un oasis de civilización entre las tiendas para turistas.

When traveling to Edinburgh in September we popped in for lunch at the Hub is was great, really enjoyable great atmosphere and the price were very competitive.

Cafe Hub is right on the corner after you leave Edinburgh Castle and is a cosy and welcoming treat.

Called in at about 2.30pm on a Wednesday afternoon.The cafe was not busy. Shown to a table and that was where the service stopped. There were plenty of staff but two spent their time fiddling around at the till and another was clearing tables. No one came near our table so after 10-15 minutes we gave up, complained to a member of staff on the way out and left. We walked a couple of minutes and instead had a lovely snack at the cafe in St Giles.

Found this place after deciding against paying £9 for a slice of pizza at Edinburgh Castle. This cafe is great, in a beautiful converted church. Service was excellent, plenty of friendly attentive staff. Great children's menu and the bill very reasonable given it's prime location. Would definitely recommend a visit

We stopped in on a early Sunday afternoon in October. There were plenty of staff on hand, and a nice variety of food choices. My husband ordered the “Sunday Brunch”, which came with bangers and English bacon, egg, tomato and beans. The sausages were spicy, the bean-bland (as in right out of the can). I ordered 1/2 sandwich and soup. English cheese sandwich with a sweet tomato sauce and rocket, on a large roll. It was tasty and filling. The soup I ordered was lentil, a bit bland and thin. Drinks came with lots of ice, which we loved.The staff were fairly attentive, and cheerful. The atmosphere brings the 4 stars. The Hub is located in a beautiful, Gothic church. Well adapted to a restaurant and event location, this is a very good stop, just down the street from the castle. Cheers!

Very much enjoyed my tuna baked potato. Waitress/Manageress was very friendly and made me feel at ease. My friend very much enjoyed his scone as well. Gave a small tip for such good service. Would recommend to others.

Popped in today for a quick cup of tea and was recommended by Anna to have the Blondie cake! She was absolutely spot on, can't praise this girl enough, and this place is a hidden gem! We will be coming back for more!

This is just the perfect place after a wander around the Old Town. I had lunch there a couple of times and the food was always very good. I would definitely recommend theScottish smoked salmon salad with tomatoes and capers with lime dressing and mustard seeds. I am excited to try their new Afternoon Tea next.

We got the last table outside and ordered soup, sandwiches and chips washed down with IPA and soft drinks. Whilst it was not cheap, there was more than we could eat and the food was wholesome and tasty. Just what we wanted whilst outside enjoying the Edinburgh ambiance.

Stopped to grab some food before we went to see tattoo. I'm on a bit of a restricted diet so had the minute steak without the bun or the chips. No problems for the kitchen and the steak was delicious. And an extra large salad with it. Will definitely come back next time in Edinburgh.

I waited at the front to be seated for 5 minutes, when there were plenty of empty tables. Once seated, I ordered two Teas, requesting that the tea leaves be left out of one pot, to be used last minute, as one of us took their tea very weak and the waiter said that was fine. I then ordered a chocolate brownie with cream and one with ice-cream.When the order arrived, i had ice-cream instead of cream and the waitress took it away. She returned with both cream and icecream on my brownie. I do not like icecream but i was told this was an extra and she walked away. Also the tea leaves had not been left out of the teapot, so it was decided to leave that. But i then noticed only a tiny amount of milk, which barely covered one pot of tea, let alone two, so I had to request more milk.. After 20 minutes, the waitress had not returned, so i asked another waitress who finally brought more milk.This is not my first bad experience here, as on a previous visit. i was left waiting 30 minutes for my order, only to find after enquiring, that the order hadn't even made it to the kitchen so staff had to retake the order and i had another long wait. On both occassions i had visited Cafe Hub, the service was very poor and disorganised. I would not return again or recommend this place to anyone.

There's no shortage of eating establishments in Edinburgh so choosing one can be difficult. Save your valuable time and eat at Cafe Hub. It gets very busy but the staff have their finger on the pulse and we didn't have to wait very long at all. I suppose Cafe Hub could be described as a fast food cafe but only because, once you've made your choice, your food arrives remarkably quickly. There's an interesting menu and the presentation of the food is first class. The sharing platters are a good choice and very good value. The cafe has a lively atmosphere, the staff are brilliant and the food very tasty and reasonably priced.Highly recommended.

Right next to the castle with outside seating. Very helpful staff and nice choice of menus. Just what you need when you reach the top of the hill

Food expensive and when busy waiting times are shocking. but access to toilets are okay.If you are visiting the tattoo then please mention when ordering food or you may miss the beginning.

Wir waren nach der Burgbesichtigung hier für eine kleine Mahlzeit. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend, die Speisen in ordentlicher Qualität.

We visited this place twice on the same day. First time for lunch and there were three adults and three children. We then went late afternoon after meeting up with another four adults. The young staff were amazing on both occasions arranging tables very quickly so we could sit together. Superb food and great children's menu. Very good service too despite it being very busy as the Edinburgh Festival had just started. Certainly go back.

We visited the cafe as a family of 7, 3 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 children. We were told by a waiter that we would have a 10 min approx wait for a table. We were quite happy to wait as one of our parents was really ready for a sit down somewhere that wasn't over crowded. As tables became free the staff started to seat people queuing behind us. After approx half hour wait a waitress came upto us and told us that they couldn't accommodate our party. We offered to be split up and she said oh right then sat us at 2 separate tables. When we did get our food it was lovely but staff training/manners was a complete let down. Very rude and abrupt. If they didn't want our custom they should have told us when we first got there. (We spent £135 in there).

We visited Cafe Hub a couple of times while staying in Edinburgh. First for lunch which was really good value and very filling (a mix of sandwiches and soup with some awesome cakes for afters) and we also dropped in later in the week for breakfast (again a good veggie breakfast at a reasonable price). We found Cafe Hub to be really nicely laid out, with superbly friendly staff (particularly the manager). It's a really nice quiet venue, has free wifi too, and ideally located on the Royal Mile if you need a quick pit stop while enjoying the sights.

We stopped for lunch on our way to the Edinburgh castle. Nice cafe but a bit dull, it has no charm. The food was really good tough, I ordered the salmon dish and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was efficient and we got served quite quickly. Interesting building as well, great location.

Service was good, quick and friendly. Excellent coffee. Beautifully presented scone but unfortunately it wasnt quite as good as it looked. Great building and opportunity to buy Edinburgh Festival tickets.

Después de unas cuantas horas viendo el castillo decidimos entrar en esta iglesia que ahora se emplea como centro e eventos, cafetería... Hamburguesas y pollo sobre ensalada césar muy recomendables. La atención muy agradable. Ideal en el centro cuando no conoces nada de Edimburgo! En cuanto al precio, pues no tenemos referencia aún en el país. Para España puede que algo caro, pero estamos en el centro de la ciudad, una gran ciudad!

Stopped here for a coffee whilst walking up The Royal Mile. Sat outside and enjoyed delicious coffees. Well worth a visit.

Good coffee, refreshing tea. Scrummy haggis and fried egg roll with a cuppa for a fiver. Superb value. Soft bun. Good service. Clean.

Really bad, slow service. We just sat in for a soda, it took forever to order and forever to get the order served. Understaffed, overcrowded and overpriced. The sfatt can't keep up with orders or table waiting order. We left disappointed and we only ordered two sodas, can't even imagine what it must be like for people ordering food. Avoid.

Stopped by for a cup of coffee. Was very good. We had the Sponge Cake along with our coffee. Service was excellent and quick. Nice stop along the day.

I was a bit apprehensive about this place because of its close proximity to Edinburgh Castle, but the internet doesn't lie, and the internet told me it was good. It was excellent! We came for breakfast before touring the castle and had tea with lovely breakfast rolls (egg, cheddar, and veggie sausage) and Erik had the vegetarian breakfast which was also outstanding. It's a nice setting too, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Soyons honnête le café Hubb n'est beau que de l'extérieur. Quelle déception en y rentrant, on pensait trouver un décor en adéquation avec l'extérieur. Nous avons fait demi tour.

Visited for brunch. Had the hub breakfast with a side of haggis. Piping hot and beautifully presented on a wooden board. Absolutely delicious! Can also recommend the breakfast blend for tea. Very friendly and attentive staff too.A real treat!

Really nice spot for a generous helping of tasty lunch. Ingredients fresh & meals tasty & well-presented. Coffee is excellent too. Servers are really friendly. Although it was lunch time rush, our server was really diligent. However, when we went to pay, we were greeted by a less than friendly lady. Fair enough we initially asked for the bill to be split, which is custom for a party of less than 6 but when fetching a calculator seemed too arduous based on her reaction we left it be. Honestly a nice spot for lunch, but slightly disappointed that this one interaction essentially let the team down.

Morgens lohnt sich der Besuch, um dort gemütlich zu Frühstücken und am Nachmittag, um Kaffee und Kuchen zu genießen.Dazwischen bietet das Hub seinen Gästen eine Deli Selection, verschiedene Hauptspeisen sowie wechselnde Tagesgerichte. Freundliches, zuvorkommendes Servicepersonal sowie ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis sorgen dafür, dass man gerne wiederkommt.

Chose a salad, ordered Falafel salad, wasn't falafel it was humous! Tasted nice, but came with a honey dressing and croutons, so not great as I'm trying to eat low carb. Didn't notice it said that on the menu. Waiting staff friendly but rather swift in clearing away plates as soon as we put our cutlery down. Lovely building though relaxed atmosphere .

Whenever we are in Edinburgh we always make sure that we visit The Hub Cafe. Called in on Saturday for brunch. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which were absolutely delicious! Husband opted for the breakfast which was excellent and my vegetarian daughter enjoyed a Quorn sausage bap.Service is excellent and the menu has something for everyone. Not overpriced and most definitely worth a visit.

Popped in for lunch before walking up to the castle. Family of five, including two teens. Lovely cafe/theatre in a converted church. We had half sandwiches with chips and I enjoyed a delicious cauliflower soup and bread, along with coffees and juices. It was fairly busy but got seated and served quickly. Food was well presented and delicious, and staff friendly and helpful. Prices reasonable too.Would definitely recommend to others, and visit again.

Popped in for lunch after a visit to the castle. Had a chicken burger which was both delicious & enormous in size. I struggled to eat it all! Friendly staff, super-quick service too. Lovely. And if it's sunny, great to able to sit outside too!

Were waiting for the bus and had 20 min to spare and decided to go in to grab cups of coffee. We ordered 2 irish coffee to go and 2 hot chocolates. 20 min later it was not ready and the bus went without us. We asked the guy what took so long and he couldn't explain. And it was not busy at all. The wait staff were just talking while he was making the coffee. We got our drinks, missed our bus that actually waited a couple of min for us and the hot chocolates were cold and the Irish coffee was definatly not Irish at all. It tasted like coffee with a lot of milk.Will not go there again.

We visited as we had 10% off with our Camera Obscura ticket and were told the cafe welcomed children. We got there just after 12 and were seated fairly quickly. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful which was great. It's quite a large space to manage and so the service was not super fast and speedily efficient but actually this made it more relaxed and easy going so we didn't feel rushed or crowded or over attended to.The venue itself is beautiful and light, the seating areas comfy. The food was fresh and tasty - we had a kids pizza which came with cucumber, carrot sticks and some salad (it would be worth the kitchen reconsidering the use of peppery rocket and the salad dressing on a kids dish - my kiss eat salad no problem but this was a bit much for even them) and half soup and half sandwich which were absolutely delicious and tasted really well seasoned and thought out - fab cafe food. With a juice and coffee our bill came to about £12-13 I think, after the 10% discount.I'd definitely visit again.

Just a stone's throw from the Castle at the top of the Mile is this converted church building. I visted in the afternoon for a coffee and snack and liked it. The scone was very good and also the coffee. Very good value.

We'd booked a table for lunch just to be sure. This is the sort of eatery you expect at an art gallery or museum, in this particular case distinguished by slightly eccentric service - though chatty and amusing, we weren't quite sure we would get what we ordered - and rather ordinary food. Good bangers and mash, lovely soup of the day. They'd run out of housewine. Fair value.
