Convenient for a break, but not the prettiest cafe around, and definitely not the best food around either! On the other hand, the staff were really very friendly and efficient during our visit.

I have been to Costa coffee in 13A Castle St again. I strongly recommend this coffee. The staff is really nice, polite and friendly. Everything is very clean. The hygiene in the toilets is fine as well. The location is great, city center in Edinburgh.

Good coffee good service great place to sit and relax

Medium cappuccino is huge. Front seating area looks cozy. But it is very loud inside because of the ventilation above the counter.

Not good. Arrived with a pram and asked to go to toilet. Advised disabled toilet was out of order and didn’t have baby changing anyway. Bumped the pram up to the normal toilets and they were pretty unclean (at 9am). Order a tea and oat milk but no oat milk so had to have soy. Overall poor

So delighted to see a no dogs allowed policy being enforced here. The assistant asked the customers to leave due to them having dogs. First time I have experienced this . Coffee shop owners should take note as in my estimation dogs should not be allowed in food establishments....

Worst Costa I have ever been in. Rude ignorant staff serving. I asked the girl serving with poor English skills if they had certain biscuits that I always get in any other Costa I've been to I was told "if it is not there we don't have it" in a very sharp tone. The toilets were filthy. Giving Costa a bad name. Avoid

Accidentally caught emergency cord in toilet. It took a while to find out how to cancel it, no one answered it.

Come to the Costa at 7:55. I know it’s late, but should to be able to order the coffee. Staff is not friendly and not helpful. Going down 10 meters to the Starbucks and they let me to do the order. No good for Costa reputation.

No wifi, and a black hole for phone signal in here, so unless you plan on bringing a book, avoid.

Usual deal from Costa. But it's in Edinburgh city centre, so that makes it Barrie !!!

I just think it's mean that they don't let you use the toilet if you are not a customer. I get that it's a rule but only jobs worths enforce it. It doesn't cost to be nice to your fellow human.

Baristas are friendly and very helpful. Great customer service and clean environment.

Usual good cuppa & cake. Staff seemed unorganised 🤔 I collected the coffee's one by one and the same with the cakes. Tip for them: best to put the order on a serving tray, then we can collect everything together. Toilet was locked, then had no handwash!! Not sure I will return to that particular Costa.

A great place to take a break, enjoy a delicious cake, a tasty drink and relax as you watch the world pass by.

Although there is no cleaning, this area is closed at peak hours (15-18) on weekdays. Moreover, the toilets there are also closed thus there is only one toilet which must be shared between disabled and non-disabled people. Strange enough. Also, there is no wi-fi. Keep in mind if you read this review.

Not the cleanest ! Poor quality toasted sandwich very disappointed

hot chocolate was lumpy as in the milk was curdled. forgot an item off the order and everything was cold

Lovely staff, could do with some renovations and work done but good store.

Worst Costa I have ever been in. Staff were really rude - I asked the barista whether my coffee could be in a take away cup and she promptly ignored me. My partner then tried politely to get her attention as well, also ignored. The floor and seating was filthy (pieces of food everywhere). Bathroom was also dirty. Will not go back and would not recommend.

I love coming here on a Thursday early in the morning for a coffee. Anna and Vikram are both always so welcoming and friendly. I leave with a smile on my face ready to catch my next bus.

Good staff and excellent coffee. It's nice to have professionally prepared coffee here. View and location are also quite good and convenient in any weather. There are variety of good snack and sweet options which can go well with your drink. I recommend having waffles too.

If you want more than a coffee you go to Costa, with nice prices, always a seat for you and your mates and something to take away.

Always order from this Costa even though there's one near to me because there coffee and customer service is excellent

Staff was serving other folks infront of us as they didn't seem to know who was next. No communication between them, my wife had to say as 2 others got our drinks. The lad that served us was good, the 2 lasses were lost.

The service was terrible, the " extra hot lattes" were look warm, we were not offered sauce or cuttlery with the beacon rolls. the toilets were unacceptable, the ladies toilet seat was broken, the hand dryer was not working and the floor littered with paper. This is the worst Costa we have ever been in

As the delivery was over an hour late all the items were cold and tasted horrid due to that, sandwiches were as hard as rocks:( couldn't enjoy as I had to go to work soon after

Ordered coffee and chocolate. Both were of excellent quality and very hot.

Always busy, well when I've been in anyway, just what you would expect for the city centre, always got a seat tho, staff are super polite and efficient, work well together in a tight space, hats off to them. I will be back no doubt as it is very convenient for my work. ☕🍰

Tables needed clearing from empty tables

The hot drinks were in the paper bag and the paper bag was soaked through when. Carried the drinks in they fell thru the bag and spilled onto the floor the poached egg and bacon brooch were burns to a crisp and inedible

Honestly the worst Costa I've ever been in. There is an overpowering smell of bin odour at all times. There is one young man who is always welcoming and attentive, however, the staff are generally very frosty & unfriendly. I use it because it's close to my office & I like Costa coffee. No other reason.

Was here on Sunday 30th of July at 14:20 none of the staff seem to have a clue waited longer than we should have for our order to begin with one of our drinks was a frappe and staff knew it was watery as they showed another member of staff but still gave us it and i asked if they could make another because it was so watery then realised toast was only cooked on 1 side so had to send that back aswellb and when they brought the drink back it wasn't any better on the way out I told the guy with glasses the drink was terrible and put it back on counter with only a mouthful out it and said that's the 2nd one that you made us all he said was sorry no offer of a refund or nothing and needs retrained in how to make drinks and toast and deal with customers and I would like head office to check CCTV of my visit it was approximately 14:20 on Sunday the 30th of July ....never going back to this Costa after my experience usually visit Costa around 4 times a week this is probably the worst Costa in Edinburgh I have visited so far eveny latte tasted off

We popped in to this Costa location on a rainy Tuesday. The staff are friendly and service was quick. Lovely iced latte. We were able to grab a table at the front window, which was a bonus.

Part of my order was cancelled so i dont know how i get a refund for that

Very small Costa but was pretty empty and I can understand why! Ordered 3 frappuccinos and a latte. We were given the frappuccinos in takeaway coffee cups rather than in the plastic frappe cups which would have been fine if we were given lids or a straw. This place had no lids, no straws, no frappe cups, no sugar and no napkins. I wouldn't have minded but they didn't even warn us before taking our order. They couldn't even blend the ice properly! Latte was fine but not very hot.

Guter Kaffee, mieses Essen. Ambiente ist nicht sehr ansprechend. Alles etwas eng. Der Kaffee ist sehr gut, jedoch ist diese Eigenart mit Kakao auf dem Milchschaum ein no-go. Die Sandwiches waren geschmacklich unterirdisch. Übelkeit danach hat die Qualität danach bestätigt.

Costa is what it is! The downside to thos Costa was the state of the Gents toilets! Not great! Clearly, cleanliness in this area is not high on their agenda, which is a Shane!

Appalling experience. Toblerone lattes that lacked taste. Disorganised, crowded and very slow order pickup. Numerous uncleared tables, toilet out of order. Clearly overwhelmed but yet continued to take more and more orders. No proper crockery cups available for sit-in. Staff were pleasant and friendly though.

Decaff latte so weak just tastes of milk. Should really ask for an extra shot but why should I pay extra for my coffee to taste of coffee?

Popped in for a quick cuppa to warm up. Shame the aircon was blowing cold for some reason despite being a cold, raining day. Other than that staff were very keen to keep the tables cleared and clean. Drinks were spot on and toilets were nice and presentable.

The food arrived very cold it was awful and the hot chocolates were freezing. NEVER AGAIN
