Visited Abbey View Bowling Club this afternoon for high tea. I cannot fault the quality of food or the service. Roast Beef with all the trimmings. Steak Pie Chips and vegetables. Toast Scones and a variety of home baked cakes. Cup of tea. Whole bill was £20 pounds. Oh and washed down with a a few pints of Guinness for me and Gin and Tonic for Margaret. Definitely will be back.

Cosy nero in a great spot for people watching in the town. Great coffee and cakes and love that the team always remember your order.

Located within minutes of the High Street, shopping and a few restaurants this spot is a great central location for the city. I only spent 1 night in Dunfermline but felt like i had good access to anything I’d need from this location. PRO’s - Staff - everyone I chatted with were super accommodating and helpful. - Parking - there are a few dedicated parking spots under the building on the backside of where you may drive past when en route to the hotel. If those are full, there’s also a large paid lot. - Restaurant- I had the steak pie with veggies for dinner, it was pretty tasty and filling. The veggies were steamed and fresh, but a little dry, so would be nice to have a sauce of some kind included with them. - Breakfast was good with a small, essential selection of hot breakfast options, as well as toast, tea and coffee. Would have enjoyed some juice, and water but didn’t ask. Most of the places I stay which offer those items have them out and readily available for guests. - Room - I’m a solo traveler on this recent visit so I booked a single room, which had just a twin bed. The area is small but pretty well laid out and felt decently spacious. Con’s/Suggestions - The bathroom mirror is mounted pretty high, so most people (especially women) of average height would not be able to use it. The room I had (26) had a lot of available space in the bathroom, would love to see a small table or something in there for holding toiletries when getting ready in the morning. And access to a mirror for makeup and such. - Would be great to have some kind of luggage stand to put my bag on instead of it having to be on the floor. - The TV was mounted above the desk and very much off to the side from the bed, which limited viewing of the TV. In general I enjoyed my stay here and could see booking this spot again.

Visited here for a relaxing spot of lunch with a pint. However, I noticed a group of people vaping at the table opposite me. They continued as staff were mopping up under their table after a few drinks got knocked over. Yet, the staff said nothing! I then asked a young man, who brought the food to my table, if vaping was permitted in the pub. He said it wasn't, so I suggested he tell this to the table of which I was pointing to. He just looked over at them and then walked away. When I had ordered my meal, I opted for the larger size madras for just an extra £1.40. It arrived rather quickly and was quite nice but it came without the chutney which is supposed to accompany the dish. This is usually a real nice Spoons but I'm disappointed with the experience on this occasion.

What a fantastic place. Friendly staff, gorgeous cafe (loving the hanging plants!) and delicious food. A total win for our family - both gluten-free and ‘normal’. Highly recommend the GF Reuben sandwich - absolutely delicious. The all day breakfasts the others had also looked amazing and the bacon was “the best and crispiest”!
