What a fantastic place. Friendly staff, gorgeous cafe (loving the hanging plants!) and delicious food. A total win for our family - both gluten-free and ‘normal’. Highly recommend the GF Reuben sandwich - absolutely delicious. The all day breakfasts the others had also looked amazing and the bacon was “the best and crispiest”!

We went to the Wynd Cafe for brunch on a day trip to Dunfermline.; it's conveniently situated close to the Abbey and other tourist attractions. The menu was subtly different from normal cafe fare; the food was attractively presented and tasted good. We enjoyed huevos rancheros and a Reuben sandwich. Their service was friendly and efficient.

Went at lunchtime and it was very busy. We had a lovely meal, breakfast for me and soup of the day for my wife. The menu is limited as mentioned by others and I have to say, there were a number of items not to my taste but the owners must be doing something right judging by the fact the place was full. The selection of cakes was very good and also the selection of coffees and tea which we sampled. This is not a traditional cafe as many people would know it but that is no bad thing. Dunfermline needs a cafe like this. There are many others in Dunfermline catering for the masses like me. Visit and make your own mind up. Lastly, the staff were excellent, especially Meghan who was our server but the other girl was also very good. Both well trained obviously.

First visit to this place, which is near the High Street and bus station, and it won’t be the last. Good coffees and cakes, reasonable prices and very good service, so all positive. Nicer to visit than the normal coffee shop chains.

This is a superb side street cafe just off the High Street in Dunfermline. The place has a relatively short menu of lunchtime dishes that are wonderfully well prepared. I had French Toast & my wife had Chilli & Tomato Soup. Both were excellent. The coffee has quite a high level of roast, so it is full of flavour. There are gluten-free cakes & the service is friendly. At lunchtimes it is busy, but that is a good sign. Oh, and the music playlist (Bowie, Clash) is right up my street.

Upon arriving at Wynd Cafe, we were promptly seated, but from there, the experience was a bit hit-and-miss. The breakfast menu seemed limited, with only one option available for both breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, the Wynd breakfast itself left something to be desired. The portion size for the price was a letdown, and the absence of tomatoes felt like a glaring oversight. The burst egg yolk was also a disappointment, especially for those who prefer not to have it. On the bright side, the caramel latte was a standout - a true highlight of the visit. One downside was the proximity of the tables, which made for a somewhat cramped atmosphere. As for recommending Wynd Cafe to a friend, I'm inclined to say it might not be the top choice. One aspect that caught us off guard was the dog-friendly policy. While it's a nice touch for some, we found it a tad unhygienic, with the lingering wet dog smell and the presence of dog hair around our food. All in all, Wynd Cafe has its merits, but it's not a place I'd rush back to.

On a wet day, lunch at Wynd Cafe was a pleasure. It was busy but service was efficient and the staff handled the full room effectively. Nice vibe in the cafe too. I had the McDunfy (sp?) which was a delicious roll filled with sausage, fried egg, hash brown and Gruyère cheese. This was yummy, really savoury and the sausage was first rate. I was very pleased with my choice and it was a perfect, warming lunch on a damp day. Amongst our party, the herby mushrooms on sourdough toast was raved about too. The menu is quite small but provided a good range of options for lunch and I liked the fact that the cafe offered something different.

Small, friendly and local. Always great food. Mac n cheese, breakfast and the ever changing tasty food. Visited here for a relaxing spot of lunch with a pint. However, I noticed a group of people vaping at the table opposite me. They continued as staff were mopping up under their table after a few drinks got knocked over. Yet, the staff said nothing! I then asked a young man, who brought the food to my table, if vaping was permitted in the pub. He said it wasn't, so I suggested he tell this to the table of which I was pointing to. He just looked over at them and then walked away. When I had ordered my meal, I opted for the larger size madras for just an extra £1.40. It arrived rather quickly and was quite nice but it came without the chutney which is supposed to accompany the dish. This is usually a real nice Spoons but I'm disappointed with the experience on this occasion.

Located within minutes of the High Street, shopping and a few restaurants this spot is a great central location for the city. I only spent 1 night in Dunfermline but felt like i had good access to anything I’d need from this location. PRO’s - Staff - everyone I chatted with were super accommodating and helpful. - Parking - there are a few dedicated parking spots under the building on the backside of where you may drive past when en route to the hotel. If those are full, there’s also a large paid lot. - Restaurant- I had the steak pie with veggies for dinner, it was pretty tasty and filling. The veggies were steamed and fresh, but a little dry, so would be nice to have a sauce of some kind included with them. - Breakfast was good with a small, essential selection of hot breakfast options, as well as toast, tea and coffee. Would have enjoyed some juice, and water but didn’t ask. Most of the places I stay which offer those items have them out and readily available for guests. - Room - I’m a solo traveler on this recent visit so I booked a single room, which had just a twin bed. The area is small but pretty well laid out and felt decently spacious. Con’s/Suggestions - The bathroom mirror is mounted pretty high, so most people (especially women) of average height would not be able to use it. The room I had (26) had a lot of available space in the bathroom, would love to see a small table or something in there for holding toiletries when getting ready in the morning. And access to a mirror for makeup and such. - Would be great to have some kind of luggage stand to put my bag on instead of it having to be on the floor. - The TV was mounted above the desk and very much off to the side from the bed, which limited viewing of the TV. In general I enjoyed my stay here and could see booking this spot again.

Fast service, ill give them that but the food is absolutely pitiful. Had steak and asked for a specific medium rare and they still somehow buggered the order up. steak was rubbery and tasteless. The desserts were okay, not the best but definitely a 1-up from the main dish. Being as honest as i can here, probably wont be back for a while. dissapointed.
