Oh. My. GOD. Let me tell you about my night at this pub in Knaresborough because, honey, it was an absolute disaster – and not the fun, reality-TV kind. No, this was the kind of drama that would make a telenovela look like a casual tea party. I sauntered in, thinking I was about to have the night of my life – and with this face, why wouldn’t I? The place was cute enough, I’ll give it that, and I thought, “This might actually be fabulous.” But oh no, darling, the universe had other plans. First off, the online ordering system was down. DOWN. In 2024! I mean, I might as well have been trying to send a telegram! The whole point of going to a pub these days is to sip a cocktail while casually tapping away on your phone, right? But noooo. Instead, I had to walk to the bar like some peasant from the 1800s. The nerve! The bar? PACKED. I could feel the wrinkles forming as I waited, endlessly, for someone to notice me. And when they finally did? They had the audacity to act like it was my fault that their ancient system had crumbled. I swear, I was two seconds away from giving them a live performance of “And I Am Telling You” right there. But wait, there’s a twist: the toilets. GORGEOUS. I mean, I walked in and thought I’d been transported to a high-end spa. Marble, mirrors, the lighting was divine—honestly, it was like a little slice of heaven in the middle of this disaster zone. I spent more time in the bathroom admiring the décor than I did actually eating or drinking. Priorities, darling. So, here’s the tea: if you’re after a stunning restroom experience, by all means, swing by. But if you’re hoping for decent service or a smooth ordering process, save yourself the heartbreak. I left hungry, frustrated, but at least with a fabulous selfie from the loo. 1.5 stars – And that’s only because the toilets SLAYED.

Took my young daughter for afternoon tea, it was busy so needed to wait but it was well worth it. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful ( we wanted just one type of sandwich because we don’t eat meat ) and they sorted this without any fuss. The sandwiches and cakes was super tasty and fresh. I would say just couple of down sides, wish my daughter could have had a juice instead of hot drink with the afternoon tea (But she was still very happy with hot chocolate) And toilets are upstairs, maybe not so good for someone with mobility issues. All in all a very good visit and can’t wait to visit again.

Celebrated my mums 80th birthday here with a group of friends. From the moment we booked the staff were nothing but helpful. I arranged for the cake and decorations to be taken up there and the staff were nothing but obliging inc helping me get everything out of the car and into the pub. We were a group of 10 ladies and every single one of us had a lovely meal. The service was good, the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them even though they were extremely busy. All I can say is thank you to everyone for making my mums special birthday such a lovely experience. No wonder we come back here time and time again. Keep us the fabulous work! Well done team bankhouse 🎂🥂

We had afternoon tea, the food was delicious and fresh. The staff very friendly. We didn’t wait long for them to get a table ready for us. The coffee was nice and refilled. This was a gift voucher we used and glad we came. Pity place isn’t bigger.

Very disappointed! Been here many times in the past and it has been lovely. Visited today 26/10 with a friend. Quite a few empty tables but couldn't find one that was clean as they had not been wiped down! My friend had mushroom and ham omelette, the omelette was small and round, looked as if it was frozen and not fresh, the mushroom and ham was piled on top with some cheese, should be called something else as this was not an omelette. I had bacon & brie ciabbatta, ciabbatta was not toasted and I could not get my knife through it. Bacon was fatty and cold. Coleslaw was served at room temperature, chips were greasy. Condiments were cheap and nasty. Even the coffee has changed for the worst. We shall not be returning ever. Staff looked unprofessional and disinterested, long hair not tied back, clothes scruffy, serving food staff should be wearing aprons not a fleece that the garden centre staff wear. Never thought that I would ever have to write a review like this.

Just arrived home from Mozzarellas. It was our 58th wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate it with a meal. It was absolutely gorgeous, I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the Sea Bass. Both meals were delicious and the service was fantastic. Thank you . Tony Dreda and Rory the dog. See you as usual on Sunday x

Male member or staff giving us eye contact would not serve us, excuse he gave that they working in ‘sections’ although moving to one side of the bar to other was his section, missing us each time. Eventually got served, took out drinks in a respectable manner and drank outside. Out of the blue a ‘female’ manager came outside, and asked to speak to me, accused me of calling the staff member Racist and asked us to leave after finishing drinks. Neither the male staff member who should have served apologised, he just argued nor the female so called manager apologised. Her attitude was disgusting to say the least, came out and instead of apologising on the staff members behalf or even acknowledging we should have been served before others (who were all white people) she made accusations and assumptions. Definitely not managerial material, a disgrace of an attitude and genuine felt this female member of staff was we being unreasonable. Laughed in my face and then asked me not to point her out. We left abruptly. Security was a young man who if we decided to make matters worse would have been unable to handle the situation. Genuinely the worst bar experience I’ve ever had. The male member of staff just needed to apologise but argued and then the female manager who defiantly is not manager material was just pathetic rather than empathetic. Absolute disgrace of a racist situation that was not handled in a reasonable manner. Wish I got names of these two individuals so I could oust them but the male was a scruffy looking young white male and the female manager was way out of their depth with the attitude of someone who’s entitled. Complained here as well as head office and socials. Genuinely cannot believe the experience we’ve just had. Racism still exists even at drinking establishments. Wow!

First visit in a few months. I was really looking forward to some hot, thick toast and a pot of chunky marmalade. Very disappointed, the toast arrived cold and was from a standard thin sliced loaf, tasted like cardboard and the marmalade just the standard Wilkins mini jar. My husbands sausage sandwich was much the same quality, 2 standard thin slices, no butter, not appetising at all. What a shame.

My friends and I had a bottomless brunch here yesterday we had a great time most of the staff attentive special mention to summer. The drinks flowed and we ordered our food but I'm sorry to say the food was a big let down. Two ladies ordered a breakfast and had to send it back because it was cold how that happens I don't know if it's freshly fried🤔another of our party had to ask for another egg because hers was just a yolk🤔she also paid extra for bacon and got 1 slice curled up and cold the rest of us were disappointed as our food was tepid so come on slug your waiting staff are brilliant your kitchen staff not so

The pub itself is what you want from a traditional establishment. The atmosphere is good. Been visiting here for many years, both for food and drinks. Visited tonight for drinks with family, and it was quite visible how many customers had just drinks? For years we visited to both eat and drink, but now just for drinks? The food over the past couple of years has been awful, from burnt pizza to dry burgers etc. I was shocked but not surprised how few people were eating? It’s not a cheap establishment and has steadily declined over the past couple of years? It’s such a shame as the pub is great and the staff are lovely.

We’ve just been to the art gallery café for lunch we won’t be going back. They sell scones but they’ve run out of jam What kind of business can’t even organise going to the shop and getting a pot of jam. Leeds city council should be ashamed of themselves.

We were staying in the village and went to the White Rose for an evening meal. The bar area was quite busy - it being a Friday night, but the bar staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. When we ordered we were offered the choice of remaining in the bar area or sitting in the restaurant area to eat and we chose the latter. Our meals were all very good and reasonably priced and waiting staff were pleasant and efficient. The beer was well kept too!
