The Old York Tea Room makes the most amazing cakes. I heard about them from Facebook so when on a day trip to York Christmas markets with my son ( who is a chef) we had to find the shop. The cakes are huge and the best we have had. Well worth the money and exceptional in taste. The person serving (I think his name is Tony) is very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely go again when in the area. We live in Lancashire..

Low prizes, a tasty and wide variety of chocolate (flavours, drinks, sweets). The staff is very polite and kind. Definitely five stars! 🥰

Unfortunately, the cafe was not open on the day we could visit but we picked up a Cat Trail leaflet to follow one evening. It was SO enjoyable and took us all around the city. Thanks.

Just had a lovely lunch in Pairings. We had the Deli platter and I had a fruit gin flight whilst my husband had a glass of red. Connor our waiter could have not have been more friendly or welcoming. He explained all the dishes to us and checked on us regularly. Delicious food and drink, excellent service and we’ll definitely be back.

On Goodramgate near Monk Bar. Very compact but fabulous place. Amazing cakes! Spoiled for choice! And great coffee. Staff are really friendly. I thought the tall young girl must know everybody and that they were locals but no! She is just super friendly! One flat white, one latte and two generous pie es of coffee cake, beautifully presented, came to £17. Can't complain at that! Check website for opening days. Doesn't open every day. Yes I would recommend it. Yes I would go again.

What an amazing little gem! We opted for the afternoon 'tea' where you tell them what cheese you do or don't like, the ones we were given were an incredible choice, so much so we bought some of it as we left. The staff were lovely, it's great value for money and we can't wait to go back and try the toasties as they looked fantastic.

This is such a cute place to grab a drink - we don’t get food but I can only imagine that it would be amazing as-well. Cocktails are well priced at about £9 each and they were so delicious and a number of them come in really cool glasses. The staff are amazing and so friendly our waitress Mia was the best, so kind and friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Compliments to the bar tender Simone as-well because the drinks were delicious.

Visit to york - such a beautiful place, everyone so friendly but the most upsetting experience here. 5 of us waited patiently for outside seating...we finally got 2 tables but only 4 chairs. We asked a customer if they could take their 2 ruck sacks off a third chair they had on their table as there was only 2 if them and allow us to have the chair as we had 4 chairs for 5 people. They said the floor was wet and wouldn't oblige - as if that wasn't bad enough we asked the manager if he could ask the lady to give up the chair as it was holding only 2 ruck sacks or would he take the bags inside and hold onto them..he told us no he can't make customers do that...but was quite rude and direct as he relayed this We decided to leave - as 3 of my family are quite elderly and it wasn't right to one of us to stand up to have a coffee... I asked if he was the owner as I would like to pass my concerns onto them..he threw his arms up in the air ...marched around the counter aggressively and stood very close to me intimidating me. He was shouting what do you expect me to do...at this point I said...all I expect is for you to act professionally and not in this aggressive and very frightening manner... He shouted I can't ask customers to take bags off chairs...I could feel myself shaking. Due to his aggression we left quietly as it was not only embarrassing but as a female quite scary. If he is the owner he displayed the most appauling customer care and service. His actions and aggression to a female demonstrated his misogynist personality and was quite appauling for someone in the service industry York is beautiful.....we eventually found a lovely coffee place opp york minister called CRUMBS .. you can sit outside - the staff were so lovely friendly welcoming and the coffee was superb. They offer a range of cupcakes that are devine....and the view overlooking a courtyard was picturesque
