Unfortunately, the cafe was not open on the day we could visit but we picked up a Cat Trail leaflet to follow one evening. It was SO enjoyable and took us all around the city. Thanks.

Visited with my daughter, it was our first visit but will definitely not be our last. The lady who runs it was really friendly and the cats were gorgeous. They are obviously well looked after and happy, and soooo playful. We've been to other cat cafes that allow small children in, which doesn't work. This cafe only allows 12 years and older in, and has a lot less tables than other cat cafes, so you do get to see more of the cats. Well worth a visit if you love cats, but I'd also say worth a visit if you're not cat mad like us, as the place itself is very relaxing, and the cakes, although we didn't try them, looked delicious.

Lovely, homely environment for the rescue cats to start their new life. We had delicious drinks and cakes during our one hour slot whilst talking, stroking the cats and listening to Mozart. We were visiting our daughter in York for her graduation and the town was very busy everywhere. It was really lovely to be pampered by the lovely staff during our visit. We found out about many of the cats and their backgrounds. The staff are doing amazing things for these cats who have had an unlucky start in life but now their futures look bright. They also cater for vegans and the hot chocolates were delicious. Thank you xxx😻😻😻

I love Cat Cafe's, having been in ones in Aberdeen (sadly closed now but brilliant experience) and Edinburgh. Didn't even know that York had a cat cafe so was delighted when I spotted it. Great decor, so much for the cat's to do, play, hide. climb, scratch, snooze. All rules explained clearly upon arrival including do not feed the cats, it was highlighted particularly to watch your cakes from Pumpkin!! I didn't stand a chance unfortunately, one fell swoop she was on the table swiping the chocolate cake!! All dealt with appropriately including an offer of a replacement cake, also, there are covers for the cakes so you can protect them from little paws!! It added to our experience, she was a funny wee cat, absolutely determined to get a cake or a taste of coffee but of course there are very good reasons why they should not be eating cakes so rules to be taken seriously. The cats we saw were snoozing, a couple were actively walking around, but that's their home and I would never expect them to 'perform' for customers. Really nice as well being able to see the cats in the windows as you're walking past. Hope this continues to do well, I'd love to go back.

We passed this place by chance and I loved watching the cats through the window so we booked for the next day. The rules are explained at the start and they were all very fair. As soon as we went in the cats made themselves known to us and they were all really friendly. The staff were really nice and would chat to us about the different cats and also warned me that one of the cats would want my cake- which he did, and he even managed to lift the food cover away from it! I found the cafe really good value and the Victoria sponge was delicious. It also only cost £7 each to get in which in comparison to some other cat cafes was really good value. If you love cats then it’s definitely worth a visit- just watch your cake!

This was a amazing place to visit in york a cafe with lots of cats just going about their day sleeping playing walking trying to pinch your food 😆 if you are a cat lover then this will be a great place for you to go. The service was great and the staff are nice to chat with, thou it is challenging trying to eat a scone with jam and cream on while at the time 2 cats was also interested in having it off my plate. All the cats are gentle, very relaxed and entertaining to watch. Were making plans for another visit in the future.

This cat cafe is really well done, the cats are clearly very well loved and looked after. There was just the right number of people in so it wasn’t crowded so you could approach the cats easily, they were very happy to be fussed. The cakes are delicious. Highly recommended for a relaxing hour (if you love cats).

We visited this fabulous cafe recently and we weren't disappointed. We pre-booked and were met by a very friendly gentleman who explained the procedure and told us everything we needed to know about the beautiful cats. the place was spotlessly clean, comfortable and full of interesting toys, cat beds and of course lovely cats. The owners obviously love their cats as they appeared very well cared for and content. The coffee and cake menu looked good and it was good to see they offered vegan alternatives to dairy milk. We enjoyed our hour and did not want to leave. If you love cats this is definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

Popped in here as we spotted it whilst walking around York. I had never heard of such an experience, and really couldn't understand why someone would pay to stroke a cat - let alone want cats jumping all over their table whilst you are trying to eat your food. I spend long enough at home waiting on our own cats hand & foot and cleaning up after them. However, my partner dragged me in.... The place basically is like a small cosy teashop with lots of cats either sleeping or trying to steal your food. I could see the majority of visitors who were there when I was were either crazy old cat lady types or young school girls coo`ing over the fluffy cats. There were the odd couple like us where the woman had dragged the reluctant boyfriend/husband in. The place was clean, they had a good selection of cakes/drinks available. Price wise, we paid £14 for 2 cans of coke & 1 chocolate brownie, which I felt was pretty expensive, but we could see all the other visitors thought it was a good experience. The staff were friendly and polite. They did have a loyalty card, which the "crazy cat lady" types seemed to be taking good advantage off from the looks of the number of stamps on their cards - if you visit something like 7 times, the 8th visit is free.

I am quite new to the cat cafe scene and unfortunately I felt somewhat swindled when I paid this cafe a visit on a recent trip to York. To start with, I booked online which cost £7 per person for a 1 hour session. To my absolute dismay, when I arrived, there was a sign on the door saying "walk-ins available at £5 per 1 hour session." And to make matters worse, the sign also said you could do a 30 min session for half that price. 30 mins would have been sufficient in this case. Basically I felt ripped off the minute I stepped in the door. However, I tried to remain upbeat and was excited about seeing the cats. We sat down and awaited the server coming to take our drinks and cakes order. He never arrived. 20 mins had passed and he still had not even come downstairs once and there were a few other tables waiting. I do not know what he was doing upstairs because when I ventured upstairs to explore a bit, there were only a couple of people seated upstairs. I finally caught him and he said he would come downstairs. A little more time passed and then he came down and took all the orders. By this time I was feeling pretty deflated. And in the time we were waiting to be served, I had gone searching for cats. There were just not enough cats. I know it sounds daft saying that, but there really wasn't enough cats for the size of the place and the number of people in. The cats that were there were either sleeping in cubby holes (noone's fault of course; we all want the cats to be happy and sleep when they want to) or in the entrance room with the owner. Again it sounds daft but with so little cats, they shouldn't really be in the entrance room where paying customers can't see the cats. The cake I had was nice enough, but I didn't get to stroke a single cat. Very disappointing. When I went upstairs the other patrons basically said the same thing to me, that the cats were hiding and there weren't many. Had this been my first visit to a cat cafe it might not have bothered me because I wouldn't know what to expect, but I have been to the Glasgow cat cafe which was everything a cat-lover would hope for. So this cafe in comparison was just a disappointment. Left before the session was up, feeling absolutely swindled and disappointed.

I have visited this cat cafe 3 times now and all the times have been calm and relaxing. I have been to the other Cat Cafe in Yorkshire and you can't compare as it's like chalk and cheese. This cafe aims to be calm and relaxing and it certainly is, lovely lounge setting on the 1st floor and more a conservatory setting on the ground. Lovely coffee and cake. The cats are lovely and a number of them come from a local Cat Rescue and some of them are up for adoption. The cats seem to be relaxed and well loved and are happy for attention, I spoke to the owner and love and dedication to all the cats is clear to see. Due to the relaxing atmosphere this is my favourite cat cafe. Will be trying to plan my next visit very soon,

Stumbled upon this by accident and spent a great hour here being a cat lover. Could have done with maybe a cat or two more for the number of people but would definitely go again. Drinks were fine but you don’t go for those.

What more can you want? This is a really well-run cat cafe in the centre of York. All the cats are up for re-homing and range in age from elderly to kittens. There are around 16 of them in total over a 3 storey building....

Gracias.
