Lovely friendly service and the food was absolutely beautiful, we had the small sharing plates and all 4 of us were impressed.

Ordered 2 glasses of wine but once seated couldn’t hear ourselves speak. Why have such awful loud music in a cocktail bar?

Really nice vibe. Great cocktails and good service. Liked the decor and the zombie cocktail was very tasty. Decent mocktails as well.

Only popped in for 1 drink with my partner and ended up walking away with our next holiday to Crete - from the incredibly friendly Stelios. (Drinks were fantastic and well balanced - so good we ended up having 3 more!)

Bit dissapointed went in for an offer on cocktails advertised to be told no this is stipulated in the menu once your inside so we, only had a beer and a cider, nachos and hallumi fries as a snack, paid with cash 40.00, when I received my change, they had taken the 3.50 service charge without asking, which is a bit naughty, didn't realise until I was outside. A lot of money for two drinks and 2 small plates

Highly recommend, first class service, calm atmosphere and the food is tasty and plenty of it. Could have sat here for the rest of the day feeling very content with overall experience. Definitely will return x

We stopped in for a drink and had an ale and espresso martini. Conner and Amy were our hosts and were fantastic. Very attentive and polite. Great vibe.

Popped in for an afternoon drink. We had a Yorkshire terrier ale and an espresso martini. Both were great. Extremely cordial staff. If ever we get a chance we will be back.

Social 8 Lounge hosted my 40th Birthday Party last weekend. I can’t thank you enough for the hospitality we received. From the very start of the planning, right up to the actual night. Connor and Emily have been fabulous in helping meet all my criteria and needs for the party I was hoping for. The Night itself was just amazing, all my close friends and family members together in one intimate, cosy, classy venue. I’d like to mention a special thank you to Ellie, who served us drinks and food upstairs in the private room for our family meal and helped set up before guests arrived, literally couldn’t of been any more helpful. And a huge thank you to Stelios who was our very own cocktail maker on the night! Super fun and express service which is exactly what was needed in a room full of Thirsty party people 😉 I had the Best Birthday Ever 🥳 Thank you all for making my night one I’ll always remember. You all delivered excellently, Top job to you all. I can’t wait to be back for my favourite cocktails🍹

We stepped in on the spur of the moment because there were some good sounds drifting out. The atmosphere was very pleasant with the staff happy to work with you. The music was live but finished too soon.

A beautifully presented cocktail bar with friendly staff and delicious cocktails . We came on a Sunday evening to listen to Evie Ivory who was fantastic It felt like we were watching a very talented girl who's voice is flawless, The bar staff we quick and the servers kept on top of providing refreshments.. A definite place to return the next time we stop in York !!

Great drinks, great service and a good atmosphere. Six of us went on Saturday night and really enjoyed it. We were eating at the restaurant next door so it was the perfect place for pre dinner drinks.

Every time we visit York we dine here. We’ve eaten 5 times this year alone already. Service and food is always great. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and the salmon dish for lunch. Always a smile waiting for you.

We were lured in by the amazing voice of the female singer on Sunday early evening whilst at a loose end. What a great hour spent here!! 2 for £12 cocktails that were superb. Staff were brilliant and the singer (and her keyboard friend) incredibly talented. Worth a visit

Popped in for the cocktails 2 4 12, lovely young lady served us. Very quiet but nice easy atmosphere, plenty on evening wise. But day trip was our visit.

Went for cocktails after we had dinner in ate o’clock, the staff was so kind with great service. The cocktails were soo delicious!! The Bar man Conor was so polite and passionate about cocktails when he make them. It was funny to have after 8 coctail. Especially eating at restaurants side. Wich called Ate Oclock :) Even he give us little explanation. We will be definitely back.

We popped in for couple of drinks, there was some invitations from disco ball heads, and we enjoyed a lot. The atmosphere was so cozy, and cheerful. Loved it!

We had fab time at Social ate. We only came for a drink but we stayed for hours and tried several cocktails, they were soo good, the staff provided brilliant service. Had so lovely time there.

Me and my partner visited here and what a fantastic experience we had. Great cocktails , staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. We were so lucky to grab a table as it was packed out. We decided to grab a bite to eat off the small plates menu, I had sliced steak which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the crispy pork belly cubes. The food came quick and was so tasteful. There was not one fault and we will definitely be visiting again soon

Loved this place even though we raised the average age a bit when we walked in!! Had a couple of great cocktails but there were still beers available for hubby who is really not a cocktail person.

Great bar, service very good and friendly, we thought that the drinks were going to be expensive looking at the Bar but was pleasantly suprised to find that they were perhaps a bit cheaper than several other pubs we had been in earlier

Visited yesterday first time here won’t be our last. Lewis the waiter was absolutely fantastic he could not have been more helpful and attentive to our group. Really made our visit. Give that lad a bonus! Ps bar staff could work on how to make a good mojito! Will be back for food next time as that area looked lovely it’s a very pretty bar.

My partner and I popped in for some pre-dinner cocktails and they were fantastic! The staff on shift were incredible, and service was quick and very pleasant.

Just popped in to take advantage of their cocktail offer, and they did not disappoint. Espresso martinis were delicious, and the service was fast and friendly.

A lovely selection of cocktails and lovely atmosphere. The revamp has made it a lovely place to spend a Friday night on the town.

Excellent service, reasonably priced drinks, nice atmosphere, not too loud although it was late afternoon drinks. Deffo worth a visit if you need a break from shopping. 👍

Clean establishment, toilets clean and private. Staff all cheerful and friendly. Food and drinks superb. Excellent value for the money.

Nice atmosphere and great staff. It is not that expensive as you can expect from a High Street location. We had halloumi burger (which was great) and fish cakes (which were not the best ones I've tried). They have big selection of cocktails, which can be non-alcoholic and/or vigan!

It's not fancy but it's a great place to grab a delicious sandwich and a glass of wine, if you like. We split the pulled pork sandwich with skinny fries (fantastic) and were absolutely replete. The staff were absolutely charming. It's nice to go somewhere other than a chain for a change.

Very nice bar that serves food, very clean and staff polite. We called in for a quick drink and was made very welcome, the staff made a specific drink that I wanted that wasn't on the menu. Great service all round.

The best shots and great value! Yummy cocktails free popcorn and friendly staff. Love this place.
