Fabulous cafe with friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and really tasty food. Lots of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste. Dog friendly as well, which is always a bonus. Will come back for sure!

Really enjoyed this fantastic restaurant. The staff were warm and friendly with good knowledge of the food and wine. The wine recommendation was perfect with the Chateaubriand steak. They were lovely to our older dog and we enjoyed eating in this restaurant two evenings on our short visit to Robin Hood’s Bay.

A nice little coffee/tea shop in the town centre offering delicious cakes and scones. Coffee was really tasty, but very slow to serve. Polite guys managing seating area. Dog friendly.

Bobs tearoom is always marvellous. Very beautiful walk to get there no matter where you come from and the drinks and cakes are always well worth the walk. A local hidden gem.

La más amable de las bienvenidas para las personas y los perros, con café y bollería bellamente hechos consistentemente. El ambiente es acogedor y relajado y es un hermoso lugar para tomar café, ya sea que se siente a ver el mundo pasar o tomar una comida para llevar en el camino. Recomiendo encarecidamente el café con leche de avena, mi marido delira con los cruasanes de almendra. Nos encanta que no necesite reservar una mesa y walk ins son bienvenidos. Es un paraíso para paseantes y corredores de perros y un lugar popular en el barrio debido al café seriamente bueno, el ambiente encantador y es el lugar perfecto para el brunch comunitario. Amor hay música en vivo y los temas y decoraciones de Halloween y Navidad siempre son divertidos🙂

We started visiting Groovy Moo around 6 or 7 years ago and would call in for an ice cream literally every week and sometimes two or three times during the summer. They prided themselves on their huge "Yorkshire portions". The quality of the ice cream is second to none and we love it. However just after Covid they increased their prices, understandably, but also reduced the portion sizes significantly from 5 flavours to 3 with a large tub. They tried to say you get the same portion however this is nonsense as we have photos to show how they used to be, We didn't go for quite some time but recently started visiting again. Yesterday we called in and I asked for my usual large tub and the young girl serving gave me around a half to two thirds of the week before. I questioned this, giving the opportunity to top it up but she didn't. There needs to be more continuity of portion sizes. I just left feeling annoyed and the £5:50 paid was definitely not worth it. I think it will be a long time before we go in again. I love ice cream and the long drive for us would be rewarded with a good value ice cream portion, sadly this is no longer the case!

Excellent menu that uses local high quality produce which is well cooked and presented. It’s a small cafe but not pressured and easy to relax due to the friendly and efficient staff. Excellent value for money given the quality, portion size and service. The best cafe this side of Harrogate and York

Absolutamente increíble servicio al cliente, el propietario es un hombre encantador con una gran personalidad! La comida era absolutamente increíble y las porciones estaban fuera de este mundo! Mi pareja y yo tuvimos una fritura y un café con leche y déjame decir que ambos estaban perfectamente hechos y los precios son muy razonables! Realmente tratan a los extraños como familia allí y me encantó! Si vamos a Whitby de nuevo sin duda volveremos!

The Riverside provides excellent food time and time again. The ingredients used in the dishes, both savoury and sweet, are of a high quality and new fail to please. The coffee, including the decaf, is equally as good too. Today we enjoyed a bacon and a vegan roll (even though I am not vegan it is so super tasty) followed a pistachio and courgette cake with passion fruit curd and Maltesers malteser tiffin, all fully recommended.

First time was aiming for cafe around the cornor but closed so browsed this cafe.. Stumbled accross shangrila!! As a meat eater didn't realise the place was vegitarian but I really enjoyed a fantastic sandwich, cakes to die for and great selection. A new venue for us to come to!! Try it out it is great

Waited a couple of years for the queue to not be so big, we struck lucky and managed to get a seat without too much of a wait, I'm so glad we Waited. Service was spot on, pleasant and speedy, the ambience of upstairs makes it feel so special, the cakes were amazing and we will definitely call again. There is a ongoing dispute over the sign of the tea shop, which is perfectly in keeping with the shop and the City, however some man I'd love to say gentlemen but I don't think he is, has taken a view that it might cause them to write more on the wall, is the general gist, however as they work so hard as well as not having the inclination to do this, they haven't the the time. So Gordon I hope you're ashamed, but I doubt it. The Old York Tea Room, I wish you all the luck in the world, and should you need a nice neon sign, let me know. Cosy cafe with chocolate. Coffee was expensive but good and came with a delicious chocolate. Hot chocolates looked great. Toilet was out of order so asked where nearest public toilet was but lady didn’t know. There’s actually free public toilets in the market hall around the corner.

Lovely place beautiful food and stunning cakes! Coffee some of the best I’ve had. Fantastic friendly team. Visited several times and always busy, great atmosphere.

Just noticed this place after being dropped off at the station, and as soon as I’d had my first sip, I concluded what’s in the title!! Pastries are top quality too!! Nicely done, and thanks for the great start this morning!!!
