Lovely Rita's Bakehouse in Sheffield

I love their pastries and I love this business!!! Getting your treats from them is an absolute win-win and I really can’t recommend them enough ❤️❤️❤️ Let me tell you why! These guys do the BEST pastries full-stop (the fact they’re also vegan is just lucky for me as I’m dairy intolerant!). We’ve been huge fans since first trying their cinnamon rolls in Pom, following them to any market they were at and were ecstatic when they opened a cafe/shop next door to their bakery, just down the road! I’ve been nagging them for months to make churros croissants again and three weeks ago I saw on Insta that they had…but I was too late to get there and get one 😢 I bemoaned that loudly 😁 and was told they’d be making them again the next Saturday. I messaged to say that I couldn’t get there then because of a funeral but I would be in last Saturday and had my fingers crossed that they’d be making them again. Rocked up last Saturday morning to get pastries for brunch with friends (hadn’t confirmed I was coming in) and was a bit sad to not see them on the counter. Before I could say anything, Jim (aka “Lovely Rita”) said “morning, I haven’t got the churros on the counter today but I made a couple especially for you, they’re just out back, and I was so sorry to hear about your friend”. I NEARLY CRIED 😭 (at his kindness and that he knew who I was) The churro croissants were de-li-cious but I have to say that everything we bought that day was too especially the twice-baked snickers pain au chocolat and the strawberry sweetheart croissant. In fact, I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad pastry from them – get yourselves down there asap and see if I’m right or if I’m right!

Absolutely fantastic vegan bakery selling delicious pastries, doughnuts and bread. I am a regular there, but on this occasion I went a couple of days before Christmas. I bought a few goodies including the gochujang cheeze danish which is my all-time favourite pastry, and the lovely man behind the counter gave me a loaf of sourdough on the house! Merry Christmas! As someone who is dairy free for medical reasons, I often struggle to find nice treats. I finally feel like there's a high-quality establishment out that does the job. I'm very lucky to live close by Lovely Rita's Bakehouse, they really are the best in the business!

I click and collected a festive croissant box as a treat for my vegan girlfriend. Easy and quick to order online. When arriving to pick them up it was easy to find in a modern / urban place. Queued about 5/10 minutes as there was others who were eagerly awaiting their preorders. Very popular place. Croissants were big in size, flaky with lots of filling and flavour. 10/10 from my vegan girlfriend who struggles to find quality vegan pastries like this. Fab Christmas treat. Was worth the hour journey! Will be back.

It's truly remarkable how exceptional and creative they are in baking such delicious treats. You simply must try their famous pistachio croissant - it's absolutely amazing! And the best part is that they always have new seasonal flavours 🤤 I’m completely obsessed with their cinnamon stolen roll, it's so rich in flavour, moist and yummy 🤩 What's even more impressive is that they're able to make these treats vegan and yet still loved by non-vegan folks.

I am honoured that this is my local pastry shop and it’s VEGAN! My husband and I can’t eat egg so we’ve naturally not had the luxury of enjoying pastries as we were growing up. So this is a real treat for us. The staff are so kind and ever so attentive. The pastries themselves are delicious. Best I’ve had in my life. We ate some vegan pastries in London last month but our heart yearned for Lovely Rita’s haha! Honestly I can’t commend this place enough.

I had a cinnamon roll and a stollen roll and they were divine. The rest of the bakery treats looked delicious, too. They do online ordering/reservations. I also had a latte which was good and the takeaway cup was completely recyclable. Give it a go if you're near go outdoors/Bramall lane. It's really really good and the team were lovely.

I have waited for months to get here so when visiting friends it was a priority to get in here …. It was like a vegan Disneyland!!! Wow you guys did not disappoint the pastries were incredible and such a huge range of just the best flavours ……. now just need to add you guys opening a London shop to my Xmas wish lis!!

I've been a fan of lovely Rita's for a few years now and honestly they just get better and better! The pistachio croissant is clearly the best croissant in Sheffield. It's so full of filling that it was spilling out. I'll be back!

I travelled to Sheffield to indulge in several vegan eateries and left Rita's for breakfast on my final morning. Imagine my horror arriving to see the shutters down and door closed, panic and dread and a rumbling stomach! Luckily, someone was well prepared for the fear such a sight might provoke in a poor hungry vegan and a sign has been painted on the door to let you know they are indeed open. Greeted inside by a counter full of pastry delights and a friendly server who happily talked me through the many and varied flavours on offer. I went with snickers, almond, ferrero, Oreo sweets and a savoury cheeze swirl. All were outstanding, beautiful flavours and flaky pastry. I am very much looking forward to returning to try the rest of the pastries which escaped me on this visit.

Finally writing a review for the BEST (vegan or otherwise) bakery I have ever eaten from. The first thing I ever ate from them was a kinder bueno style cruffin. It was so delicious I kept going to every market I could find Lovely Rita’s at. After eventually trying their pull apart cheesy garlic bread, the fixation continued. This bread is honestly the nicest, softest and most perfectly flavoured bread I have ever put in my mouth. Last weekend I finally tried their miso cruffin and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure if it would be for me but it was possibly even better than the first cruffin I tried! Lastly, at Sharrow Vale Market, I FINALLY got my hands on the award winning pistachio croissant and it was as good as everyone has been saying! It was perfectly filled, with the perfect cream to croissant ratio. Honestly, I can’t fault this bakery and the team is always so friendly. Whenever I have friends visiting Sheffield, Lovely Rita’s is always top on the list for them to sample. 11/10 guys, keep doing what you’re doing!!!
