Daniel's Cafe & Bistro in Bradford

We googled a dog friendly café for our first visit to Ilkley and Daniels came up first with very good reviews so we looked no further. The food was very tasty indeed and there were things on the menu that were new to us. The service was lovely and friendly. Oh and the coffee was very good indeed. We realised that Ilkley is not short of eateries but we were glad we weren’t distracted by anywhere else! Would definitely go again.

Visited with friends on a Sunday morning and this was a fab place to while away some time. We all had brunch and coffee and it was delicious. Vegan options are limited but the staff were really accommodating. It filled up fast so recommend getting there early!

What a lovely cafe! The staff were so friendly and welcoming!! The food was delicious. They did a simple ham and cheese sandwich for our daughter, adapted from their menu with the most delicious homemade apple and pear chutney on the side (which we ate). It was so good that I asked if the chutney was for sale - unfortunately not but they were kind enough to give us some in a takeaway cup! Our dishes were also amazing - the Croque and the Egg Nduja. Highly recommend Daniel’s!

Turkish Eggs....1st time I’ve had these they are the best I’ll be coming back for more. So full no room for cake.

Dog friendly. Superb hot chocolate. Had lunch here with family and dog. Lovely, well prepared food. The grilled gruyere and pulled pork, felafel and avocado on toast were all excellent. The hot chocolate was even better. Friendly and helpful. Water for dog was no problem. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic cafe in Ilkley for Breakfast/Brunch/Cake. Avocado toast was delicious. Serves great coffee and the staff are so friendly. A truly wonderful way to start the day. Dog friendly!!

We really enjoyed our visit for brunch. The coffee was lovely, we even bought a couple of bags to take away. The cafe has a nice atmosphere and the people are so friendly; we enjoyed the playlist too. It’s also a dog friendly place.

This is quite a tiny cafe, with seating indoors and out, but don’t miss it! The coffee is the best we’ve had, and we bought some beans to take home. The avocado toast was delicious, as were the scrambled eggs. It’s a friendly place, and felt fully Covid secure.

Went here today and loved the avocado toast. Every mouthful delicious! Scrambled eggs had by other party members plenty of them and perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere will definitely return.Thank you.

OMG - if you haven't been here you are DEFINITELY missing out!!! This GORGEOUS little cafe is situated 2 minutes walk off one of Ilkley main shopping streets and you will be spoilt for choice with the very well thought out and simply delicious menu - we went for the Avocado on sourdough with feta cheese and pomegranate - on the side I had smoked pulled pork and homemade coleslaw - this was the best lunch I've ever had EVER. My husband had the sourdough with homemade herring roe dip.......I had some - WOW!!!! We were stuffed but needed more of this melt in your mouth cuisine so I had the chocolate and cherry gateau and my husband had the homemade brownie.......please, just go there - the atmosphere is chilled and friendly, the staff are exquisite and wonderful - I can't help but to come back time and time again

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Daniel’s both before lockdown and during lockdown (for takeaway only). A cosy cafe, great atmosphere and comforting interiors, you feel relaxed as soon as you take your seat. In my opinion this cafe has one of the best “window seats” in Ilkley, located on a street corner you can sit and watch the world go by and get a true feel for all that Ilkley has to offer as you look out onto Leeds Road. I’m vegetarian and there’s plenty to choose from on the menu, the veggie breakfast is delicious and the avocado on toast, well it’s not just your average avocado on toast, it’s far more than that! Even the porridge doesn’t disappoint! Dog and child friendly (a necessity for me), my 4 year old daughter has enjoyed delicious soups, healthy milkshakes and of course a cookie or two. Well worth a visit when in Ilkley, you won’t be disappointed.

Popped along to Daniel's for a take away coffee and a treat during a walk. The coffee was so smooth and the brownies are gooey and delicious. The only issue I ever have is choosing which cake to go for !

I have been desperate for a takeaway sandwich and hot drink during lockdown and was so excited to finally be able to get one this weekend. The cakes were as good as ever but unfortunately the service was as chaotic as ever. The queue is not socially distanced, I was overcharged and my drink came with a cracked lid - so my first (long awaited) drink was split down my jumper rather than drunk - due to social distancing and the fact that people were loitering outside the doorway, I didn’t feel able to go back to get another lid. The cakes, however, were delicious!

During this covid time the amazing Daniels team offers delishes coffee, cakes, and sandwiches for takeaway.

Have often been in this small and quirky café, and popped in to support them just before they were forced to close owing to the COVID 19 emergency. The menu is good for breakfasts and lunches with some traditional British choices and some reflecting the café owner's European roots. The staff are always helpul and attentive. There are lots of vegetarian options. The toilets are up some steps so this might pose a problem for those with mobility problems.

We absolutely LOVE Daniel's. The menu is full and quirky and I could happily order everything and just graze all day. The café is clean and fresh with a trendy vibe and happy music playing quietly in the background. Everything is made freshly on the spot and comes out looking like it's from the pages of a magazine. The staff are always happy to see you and take pride in what they do. It really is the best spot in Ilkley for couples, friends or families - be sure to book!

I just love this cafe! It is such a welcoming place. The coffee and food are delicious. I have been for brunch and lunch and had business meetings there. It is in a great location just a 2 minute walk from The Grove. You won't be disappointed Highly recommend!

Had a lovely visit yesterday with friends and had fantastic veggie breakfast & excellent coffee. The cakes looked amazing.Well organised and accommodating, even let us order from both the breakfast & lunch menu even though technically we'd just missed breakfast serving. Busy little place so recommend reserving a table.

4 staff, and 5 customers at 10am but the service was painfully slow. At least one of them though appeared to be new that day.Breakfast choice was extremely limited and the bacon and egg were served with green salad and feta cheese which I declined.Not sure what it is trying to be, though ground breaking fits the bill. Flat white was ok when it eventually arrived.Maybe we just hit it on a bad day.

On our way to another cafe we passed Daniels and decided to give it a try. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Fab breakfast!

Daniel’s is a place where everybody feels welcomed, from adults, little ones and fluffy furry ones. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and you are always received with a smile by their super friendly staff.

Going to Ilkley for a walk along the river we discovered a wonderful cafe/bistro. What a gem. I had a halloumi panini with roasted veg and salad the others had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on sour dough. The coffee is the best I've ever had and I drink a lot of coffee. Its owned by a brother and sister who are so accommodating and lovely.

Called in for a quick coffee. It was perfect- hot and great flavour. We were so impressed we went back for lunch. Avocado with chickpea harissa and a vege burger-both superb, real delicate flavours. Then a piece of mango cheesecake, possible the best cheesecake ever, light and subtle. Good service too, can’t rate this place highly enough!

Had a lovely time here the other day! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious and very clearly fresh and made to order! The Turkish eggs are out of this world and not something I would usually go for but something I will be sure to have again! My partner had the pulled pork and this seems to be another staple of the cafe that is well worth a try when you go in. I was very impressed with their range of drinks, the homemade lemonades were very nice and refreshing, delicious. Overall a very nice enviroment and an independent business that is well worth a visit.

Stopped in for a quick bite to fuel us before a long drive back to Scotland. Lovely little find.

Lovely that we can take our dog on a Saturday morning breakfast stop. Not a huge choice on the menu but the food is very good. The chorizo with eggs was tasty and the coffee was also nice. The service was very friendly & you can tell they are very proud of their achievements with this little cafe

We went to Ilkley last weekend and looked online for places to have lunch; Daniel's came up as one of the top ten. We were not disappointed! We walked in and loved that they had not tried to cram loads of tables in to a small space. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who explained that there was a large table already in so we might have to wait about 15-20 mins; as everything is fresh and cooked to order then we had expected to wait anyway. We watched the food coming out to other tables and it looked superb - actually it looked just as good, if not better, than the photos online. My husband chose the Tostada and I chose the Baked Camembert which was served with fresh bread which had fennel seeds in, I think! The food was gorgeous! I had read complaints about the coffee but ours was perfectly fine. The bill came to £17 for the two of us. I would recommend Daniel's and would certainly go back.

My family and I simply love this place. The ambience is perfect, the food is nutrious and super tasty and the staff are so friendly. We always leave this place feeling refreshed, uplifted and excited to come back again. We love it here :)

We popped in on a dreary, chilly afternoon and were immediately cheered by a friendly welcome. The porridge was AMAZING, with fresh blueberries, strawberries, and banana. We had a really good sized Americano coffee and a very lovely Romanian veggie dish, served on thick toasted soda bread. Staff were delightful and the cafe is cosy and lovely. We were so pleased to have visited and will definitely be back.

Popped in for a coffee after a lovely walk down by the river and couldn’t resist trying the scrumptious looking cakes. The lemon and blueberry cake was fantastic. Will definitely call in again and it being dog friendly is a definite plus for us.

We arrived here by accident as our originally recommended place for lunch was closed. The coffee was excellent (and I'm fussy about my coffee), the food superb, and the ambience quite lovely. The three of us each had different choices from the menu and we were all impressed. Each dish tasted every bit as good as it looked - and sounded from the menu. That doesn't often happen. The food was good ,we had breakfast a Daniels breakfast for my self and poached eggs and humus for my wife both were very good not the normal type of full English breakfast Daniels is his own style and very good .The cafe is small but the staff are very friendly and welcoming we will return and try some lunch at a later date.

Had lunch here today with hubby. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, friendly efficient staff & superb food with excellent choice. The soup of the day (chicken, broccoli & grains) was superb-a meal in itself served with lovely bread. The camembert starter with a lovely fruit topping also great. We shared at a pitta with couscous & chickpea filling served with yoghurt dressing for mains - beautifully served & very tasty. Will definately return to this great place - they have definately got it right. I was even looking at where the beautiful coffee mugs came from - so was the lady at the next table too.

Popped in to get out of the rain. Lovely cup of tea and great homemade cakes. Date and orange scone with jam was yummy as was banana chocolate chip cake.

A truly impressive cafe can drag us out of a grumpy mood. It's a small cafe with only a few tables so diners are close together and I was yearning peace and quiet. No matter...the food and drink won me round. Cheese toasty with mango chutney could have been bland but it was a cracking lunch with quality ingredients. Spiced hot chocolate was piping hot (big tick) and a cut above. This was a fab find in Ilkley and look forward to coming back again as Daniel's Cafe & Bistro is distinctive and worth a try.

My husband and I popped in for just a quick drink and cake the other day and we are so glad we did. My hot chocolate with marshmallows was lovely and my husbands flat white coffe was perfect.

I've been here several times and enjoyed great coffee and cake each time. It's small, friendly and welcoming and I am sure to return for many more visits. Tasty snacks are served too.

I love this place! Superb very friendly service, an interesting varied menu, chilled out music, lovely decor and amazing food. It's my top breakfast/coffee spot in Ilkley, hands down!

Three of us came for a mid week lunch. We all had the mushroom and avocado burger with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato was superb, the best I have ever had. When we roast them at home they are a little soggy, but here they were really crisp.By nature my wife and I tend towards vegetarian dishes, whereas I like to chew the flesh, so I am amazed by how much I enjoyed the food. Lovely welcome from the staff.

Finding myself at a bit of a loose end for an hour or so while my old Passat was being repaired one rainy, August Saturday in Ilkley, I thought I'd pop into Daniels for breakfast. The decor is vibrant, stylish and tasteful and I was warmly greeted by a smiling member of staff.

Liked the decor and menu in here, but sadly when my food and drink arrived I was underwhelmed. The 'smoothies' they advertise are very watery juice - no blending of any kind of fruit! Please advertise this as juice instead of a smoothie on the menu. Also the mashed avocado with hummus was so bland! No seasoning at all. I wouldn't recommend the food I had and I find labelling what was clearly cheap juice from a carton as a smoothie a bit of a joke. I'm sure other stuff on the menu was better.

As soon as we entered this lovely restaurant, we were made to feel very welcome. Excellent service , atmosphere and food !! They have one of the best cappuccino I ever tried in England. I truly recommend this place !

Wow found this place by chance for lunch very trendy and comfortable place to dine.I had the vegan burger and sweet potatoe fries which were so tasty and even better ....a large portion !My partner tried the lemon and blueberry cake which she said was gorgeous.

Wow the food here is sublime! Healthy and full of taste. Daniel (chef) and his son (serving) are lovely. Only bijou - maybe 10 tables. Lovely music. Lovely decor. Highly recommend it!

I had avocado, hummus, spinach with poached eggs on toast for breakfast and it was great. For dinner I had the sharing platter, also delicious. Would definitely recommend!!

We are not from the area but were meeting up with a friend and saw the good reviews on trip advisor. It definitely lived up to the rave reviews. It is only a small cafe but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality and service. From the minute we walked through the door we felt welcome. I had booked a table and it was set up ready for us. We were greeted with a smile and the service throughout was attentive without being intrusive. Everything was clean and well decorated and the menu had a number of unusual options rather than your normal boring sandwiches etc. All the items we chose were excellent, well presented and really tasty. The coffee was also very good, served in a nice big cup and piping hot. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

We went for brunch yesterday (Sunday) and everything we had was delicious, great coffee and the avacado and eggs was amazing. My husband had the porridge which was again really tasty. This was all finished off with friendly and welcoming service, we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

A group of 8 of us ate at Daniels Bistro. We had the Sharing Platters between us to start that were lovely and then a main, I has the Rumanian Skewers that came with fab fries. The Rumanian red wine was really nice, I would recommend. We also sampled the cocktails. It is well worth remembering that this place opens in the evenings on a Friday and Saturday. Staff are friendly and attentive. I shall be going back.

After some great experiences we decided to visit for lunch. This time I had the Portobello Mushroom Burger which I heard was good and although not a vegetarian I thought it was fantastic. Our children had the chicken nuggets which were home made, high quality and delicious so they were happy.

Visited here for dinner recently with friends. It has a fabulous back story and the menu gives a real taste of Romania and some other excellent choices. We opted for the sharing platters and weren't disappointed. What a fabulous find.

I had seen the good reviews on line and found the cafe easy to find. The food on offer was good, our friend had the soup of the day and said it was great - so was everyone else's food. I would definitely recommend this place. The staff were great and the cafe itself was very clean and welcoming.

Wonderful, unusual menu. Amazing homemade cakes. Fabulous coffee. Brilliant service (including an offer to get me a pillow for my back because the waitress could see I was in pain). 100% recommend. Will definitely return!

What a magnificent find! Tried this place for Mothering Sunday after reading reviews on here and we were definitely not disappointed. We booked a table and am so glad we did as some families were turned away as it is quite small. lovely, quirky decor and extremely friendly staff. we had the mushroom burger, vegan burger and club sandwiches followed by some delicious cakes, blueberry&lemon; and a Romanian cake, was to die for. Coffee was excellent too. I also enjoyed writing on the chalk board in the toilet ha ha! We will defo be back to try the rest of the menu!!

Called in today at lunch time for light bite - our first visit. Lovely, friendly experience. Varied menu with plenty of interesting choices. We were not disappointed and will be back.

I can highly recommend the Romanian Skewers and the cakes are to die for. Washed down with a glass or two of Prosecco it's a great way to spend a few hours! Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic sharing platter and drinks at Daniels. This was our second time having the sharing board and it was as good this time as last. The fact this place has a drinks license now was also a bonus as the wine atmosphere and staff made for a great family meal.

I had lunch at this bistro, had super healthy salad with avocado and nuts, my husband had mushroom burger, we both loved it. I have to note that my other half meat men and when i sugested mushroom burger he pulled face at me, but after taste it he couldn't stop saying how good it was, by the way coffe great too... we will be back there many more times as we live in ilkley.

Visited for a late Sat lunch with my daughter. It was the first time we had tried this place but we will be back! Lovely decor, varied interesting menu (a bit different from the normal cafe/restaurant) and friendly efficient service. There are a lot of eating places in Ilkley but this is right up there with the very best.

I had the pleasure to be asked by a few people in my local area to review a bistro that recently opened. I work in business and I run a local writers club in the community. I also love cooking and participating a few cooking challenges myself. Due to my business work I got into the reviewing restaurants and now strangely I have quite a number a people that ask me to give my opinion on certain places. I think it also come with the fact that I am very honest and blunt. Daniel's Café and Bistro is by far the best Bistro I eat in. They have all you are looking for in a small restaurant: friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, small but varied menu, tasty food and home-made bakery and deserts. I was accompanied by my partner and a couple of friends and I have to say that I am very particular about my food due to my allergy. They had accommodated my allergy, change the recipes to accommodate my request and had an impeccable presentation in presenting the food. I was taken with the whole experience and I have to say I did eat in a lot of places. Thank you very much Daniel’s Café for a lovely evening and I will defiantly come again to sample more of your homemade cakes and healthy and fresh menu options. If you are in Ilkley and you are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner please do not hesitate to visit this lovely Mediterranean Bistro.

Went in here on Saturday to treat my grandaughter to breakfast before she returned to uni. What a lovely surprise we had - such a fantastic menu I really could have eaten anything on it the dishes are so temptingly interesting with fab mix of ingredients. Staff very polite and pleasant and great decor. It did take a while to get our food but we will make allowances for that because we will definitely be visiting again. And I loved the blurb about Dad Daniel on the menu - I had a lump in my throat

This is not a mainstream cafe. It boasts more than good coffee and homemade cakes, which are exceptional but the menu comes as a real surprise. It caters for the health conscious and includes lots of superfoods like avocado and gluten free delights. I thoroughly enjoyed a salad which was tasty and substantial. This is a place worth visiting in preference to the chai owned plastic panini-serving coffee shops that can afford the prime positions in the centre of town. This independent cafe is a small and bright shop but packs in flavour with fresh and wholesome foods.

Went this morning for breakfast for the first time and was not disappointed. Lovely decor and really clean, staff were friendly and accommodating to our requests which were a bit cheeky (mix and matching menu items). Food and coffees were delicious, I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Ilkley.

We stop here because a big sign in the window declaired waggy tails welcome . The welcome was very friendly and the service quick and efficient. The food , i had a club sandwich and my wife a piece of cheese cake , was excellant and Boomer our dog was much admired by the staff and offered water. The coffee was first class and very nice too. All in all we shall be returning here on our next visit to Ilkley

We had a great lunch at Daniel's Cafe. Oh the Daniel platter... Yummy. Loads of European meats and cheese - massive! Also, really interesting presentation. If I'm being picky it could have been complemented with more salad and a balsamic style dressing to cut through the meat. But great grub and cool decor - cheers!

We opted for the Sharing Platter for two and a bottle of wine [offered Fridays & Saturdays], as an alternative to the full blown dining experience offered by many of the towns restaurants. It was a great change - informal, friendly and with excellent food and wine. There are three alternative sharing platters [Mediterranean, Vegetarian plus one other], plus the remainder of the largely café day menu. We'll be going back soon, but we do hope they add some daily specials for the evening openings, as otherwise its a rather limited snacks menu.

So having lived in Ilkley for the past year, I'd only seen this place as a brunch stroke coffee/cake type of place....it's Saturday night and we've just left having had a few rounds of unbelievable cocktails! Taking a loon at their menu which showcased platters to die for, I'm certainly going to return soon for a taste of Romanian cuisine....props to them for trying something new!!

Had an amazing night out at Daniel's! We were shocked by the size of the sharing board (which is nothing like you're used to). We had the Romanian sharing board - simply delicious, our host recommended the best wine I have tasted in a long time. Best value for money, highly recommended! We'll be back!

We just moved to Ilkley 2 months ago but this little place has quickly become our favourite . Impressive range of tasty, healthy food at a fair price. Have been really happy with everything- asparagus eggs, avocado,feta & pomegranate on toast, super salad. Look forward to trying their evening platters with a glass of wine. What makes it really special though is the personal, friendly service. So many places in Ilkley to eat, this one deserves to do well!

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick drink. Enjoyed a smoothie, tea and tiffin initially. The atmosphere, staff and drinks were lovely so we stayed for more coffee. Very relaxing atmosphere where you can sit and know you aren't going to be rushed out by the staff! Great place, we will be back!!

We popped in For lunch and passed this place though not our first choice we were really happy with it!!

Stopped off in Ilkley for lunch today and decided that this place fit our requirements... what a find. The food was fresh and delicious but for us it was the atmosphere that these youngsters are creating ... such fabulous service , they could not have done more.
