Absolutely love this place! Was the first time visiting with my mum and we had been desperate to find a quaint little tea rooms not far from where I live in laisterdyke. I came across miss butterfingers online and I’m so pleased I did! The owner was lovely and welcoming, the food was delicious! It is very reasonably priced and decorated beautifully, another huge plus is that it is dog friendly! This may just be our new favourite tea rooms! Xxx

Popped in for a solo lunch on a rainy , cold day. I’ve been with friends before so knows it’s a lovely place. It’s small and I hadn’t booked but was seated at a delightful table for two. They had run out of my usual jacket potatoes so I chose a panini which also came with a tea cup of soup. The panini was really tasty and cooked beautifully instead of being ‘squashed’ in a machine. The soup ( home made) was broccoli and Parmesan and was delicious. Pot of tea ( leaves with a strainer) was the perfect drink. A super place and the owner , Emily, can’t do enough for you. Her staff are great too. I’d recommend booking though so that you’re not disappointed

I booked to come back here for my husbands birthday and it was absolutely gorgeous yet again. This time we had the picnic table. I had a panini and my husband had a toastie, both of them were really tasty. We also got a cup of homemade soup, yummy and a cup of salad. Then we had a scone with jam and clotted cream (delicious). We also had a chocolate brownie, a piece of rocky road and a cupcake all of which we took home as we were full but after eating them every one of them were delicious. We also had a pot of tea. The price you pay is really good for the amount of high quality products you get. Once again the staff were super friendly and remembered us for our previous visit. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend Miss Butterfingers to anyone wanting a lovely treat.

My sister in law won afternoon tea here and took me. The place is tiny, but you still feel like you have plenty of room. We were seated in lovely big armchairs in the window, cushions were provided, which I used to raise myself up!! We had the picnic bench, choice of toastie or pannini which was fab, as I prefer toasties, a lovely cup of homemade broccoli and cauliflower soup, a cup of salad too. A choice of coffee or tea, and choice of fruit or plain scone, perfect. The lemon cake was so light and lemony, and the scone fresh, with a choice of butter and/or clotted cream! I was in heaven. A piece of choc cake and a cupcake completed the bench. There was a table with 3 little girls and their benches looked so cute. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit here. I booked the Valentines afternoon tea for myself and my husband. A lovely young lady came over and took our order. She was really friendly and a credit to the shop. We received our afternoon tea and wow it was delicious. A selection of finger sandwiches and crisps were on the bottom tier. On the middle tier was a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. On the top tier was a red velvet cupcake, a millionaire shortbread (it was my favourite) a jammie dodger cake, strawberry dipped in chocolate as well as love heart sweet and a chocolate. We also had a pot of tea. Ever single part was delicious and absolutely value for money. Will definitely be booking again and can’t recommend this lovely place enough, see you soon.

I've not been moved to review anywhere for quite a while so that tells you how good this place is. We needed a treat after a dispiriting morning hospital visit so decided to treat ourselves. It was a good move. Clean, friendly and with quaint but quiet pre-war background music (which probably drives the staff bonkers but adds such the right ambience) we were shown to our unbooked table for two. We were lucky as with it's increasing popularity and small size I'd advise you book first. 07752 772584 My partner had a toasted panini, I had a mini afternoon tea and both were first class. The mini afternoon tea just suited me as it was enough - but not too much. The loose leaf breakfast tea we enjoyed was served in a proper china tea-pot with a sieve, a small white jug of milk and sugar tongs were available to pick your cubes from the small lidded pot on the table next to the quirky salt and pepper pots. The toilet is always the deal breaker. If it's good, so is the venue. This is small, unisex but very clean, beautifully decorated, has despite it's size has baby changing facilities AND individual towel facecloths - which I've never seen used before in a small tea room. Top marks. With gluten free options, take-home or take-out and the best scones, cream and jam, it's a proper Yorkshire tea room and nothing seems to be too much trouble - so the service gets five stars. Forget Bettys. This is how a Yorkshire tea-room should be run and done. Well done Emily and her staff. We will return.

I love this place. Have visited numerous time and have tried a variety of the food and drinks. All freshly made. Really can’t fault the food at all. Today I ordered an afternoon tea; chatting to a friend it took us 5/10 mins to realise I hadn’t been asked what sandwiches I wanted. The menu states ‘selection’ but I expected to be asked/given a choice when ordering. I was told the sandwiches had already been prepared and included a ham sandwich, so I just asked for that to be left off. When we received our food my afternoon tea included a tuna sandwich. I was a little annoyed as I had mentioned I was veggie. I appreciate I could and should have mentioned this when ordering but had mentioned it before the food came and asked for any already prepared non veggie food to be left off (not replaced). In this day and age with such focus on allergies and intolerances o thought it very poor that this could happen. now don’t get me wrong the food is great and I will def return but more care needs to be taken in this department as there are many different reasons people avoid certain foods.

Visited for the first time today, Thursday 21st Feb, for a half term treat with my husband and son, we all ordered the afternoon tea. The tea room is very cute with lots of quirky vintage details like bunting & old style mismatched china. The owner Emily was very friendly & obliging, changing our son's sandwich order to just ham with no problems. Our tea arrived in a teapot covered in a cute teacosy then we received a lovely 3 tier cake stand each with ham, tuna, egg & cheese & pickle sandwiches, posh crisps & a little cup of delicious homemade soup, today it was cream of cauliflower. Then there were gorgeous homemade scones with jam & cream, they were very light & fresh. Finally you had a pretty cupcake with rose glitter icing, a flapjack & a delicious slice of chocolate cake, all homemade. There was so much food we ended up taking several cakes home in a box ! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea & would definitely recommend it & visit again in the future. Thank you Emily & staff for a very pleasant afternoon.

I won't share where the name came from, let the lovely Emily explain when you visit. My friend and I had afternoon tea. I have a few afternoon teas in my time. This one was delectable. There was a small mug of home made tomato and basil soup. I don't really like this flavour, but thought I would try. It was delicious. The sandwiches, 4 varieties were fresh and tasty. The scone were some of the best I'd ever had. We were full, but managed a small portion of the ginger cake. We were given boxes to take home the two remaining cakes. I had decaf tea and my friend ordinary tea. This delight cost £10.95. incredible value. The cafe also does other types of afternoon teas. I hope I get back. They sound wonderful. If you really want a treat then Miss Butterfingers is definitely the place to go. I've been a customer for a couple of years now, and when Emily moved premises to further away from my home I was happy to follow her. All of the cakes are wonderful and home made - the chocolate brownies are to die for, with a gooey middle I only can dream of being to recreate myself. Her home made soups and paninis are also excellent. Where else can you go for good quality leaf tea, served in a teapot with a strainer? But what makes Miss B's really special is the quirkiness, service and the attention to detail. From being offered to refill the teapot with fresh hot water, to the checks that everything is ok, but in an unobtrusive way. If you have any dietary requirements and contact in advance, they'll also do their very best to accommodate too, whether you're gluten free, dairy free or vegan. They're dog friendly, and very child friendly too. My daughter actually sulks if I go without her! If you've not been before, you won't be disappointed.

We visited Miss Butterfingers as part of our coral wedding anniversary celebrations (35 years). We were greeted in the usual cheery manner and offered a choice of tables. As we had booked for an early lunch the tea room had not yet got too busy. There was one other party dining and, as this is the sort of place where friendly people go, we were soon in conversation with them. Mostly about Miss Butterfingers and her delicious cakes. To leave room for some cake, my wife ordered sandwiches and I opted for the soup of the day, onion soup, heartily recommended by one of the ladies on the next table. This soon came along with our usual pot of tea. The sandwiches were enjoyed and the over-sized cup of soup was served with the offer of extra crusty bread if I wanted. The soup was delicious, seasoned to perfection and, as I only realised later, served at exactly the right temperature, (How does she do that?)For our next course, my wife chose the Halloween themed Victoria sponge and I opted for a slice of the chocolate orange cake. Both thoroughly enjoyed. Mine really did taste of chocolate oranges. By now the tea room had filled up with more friendly customers of all ages enjoying the fare on offer. To continue our celebrations at home we had ordered some vanilla cupcakes with coral coloured buttercream icing. Again Miss B went above and beyond, not content to simply ice the cakes, we got extra decorations thrown in. To round off I bought a bottle of dandelion and burdock from the “Posh Pop” range to enjoy at home. All in all we had another enjoyable lunch in good company and pleasant surroundings where we are always made to feel special.

Emily (the owner), gives you an incredibly warm and personal welcome when you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble. The homemade cakes and food are delicious and prepared and served with love. We had a panini with a cup of homemade green bean and parmesan soup - which tasted incredible. Every day there is a different soup available. The food is served on vintage crockery, some of it donated by local people. So personal is the service, that if one of these people visit the café, Emily does her best to make sure they are served their meals in the crockery they donated. A great range of homemade cakes are always available. We tried a Tricycle cream tea (a chocolate and orange scone served with Chocolate spread and cream!). Fruit and plain scones are also available, but the chocolate orange ones were delicious. They were served on a metal tricycle. Something else I love about Miss Butterfingers is the thought and creativity that have gone into making this café such a gem of a place to visit. I chose a bakewell sponge - deliciously almondy and moist - a perfect choice! We will be regulars at this café.

Located in Idle village this gem is easy to miss, but don't pass without calling in for a cuppa and blissful home baked cake. The coffee is the best I've had, and the aromas from the baking going on in the kitchen are irresistible. Retro in style, it is comfortable with the sort of atmosphere that makes you reluctant to return to the bustling world outside. There are individual and quirky cakes baked fresh daily, homemade soup and a good selection of sandwiches, toasties and other savoury treats, but the real star turns are the cakes and especially the scones with jam and cream beautifully presented in a tricycle ( yes really!). The crockery and decorations are reminiscent of a more stylish era and the nostalgic music hits just the right note. Afternoon tea is also brilliant (booking recommended) with special versions for kids, I can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a lazy afternoon!

My friend and I called in for a quick business lunch. What a lovely little place. I had a sandwich in a lovely floury baguette, with a teacup of pea soup on the side. Everything was well presented in pretty crockery, and we were served by friendly, smiling staff. Emily is very sweet, and came to make sure the coffee wasn't too strong, etc.We will definitely be back

After seeing how lovely this placed looked from the outside i decided to try it out with my young child and some friends but we will most definitely not be returning. Do not be fooled by the look of this place, the owner/manager was extremely rude and disrespectful. She looked down her nose at us and many other customers. She was snarky and cocky to customers with simple questions and made us feel not at all welcome. Avoid this place! The owner doesn't deserve your money, time and custom.

We had been regulars at the Harrogate Road tea room but, since Miss Butterfingers moved to Idle, we have not managed to visit so often. It had been almost six months since our last visit, so we decided it was high time that we went. We booked in advance as we had heard how busy the tea room can be. On arrival it was just like coming home. We were greeted by Miss B herself, whose beaming smile, as ever, lit up the room. We were shown to our table, but we were offered a change if we preferred. We saw no reason to change, so we stuck with Miss B’s choice. Straight away my wife spotted some gorgeous looking cupcakes in the cabinet and ordered a couple to take home. When we were seated our tea was brought to us in the latest of the shop’s eclectic collection of teapots. Our usual drinks order was remembered even though it had been so long since we had been. We ordered our meal and had a look round at the room. It is tastefully decorated with a vintage theme, the tables spaced so there is a homely feel without customers being on top of each other. Period music added to the ambience without being intrusive. Lots of quirky decorations adorn the room so there is a lot to occupy your attention while waiting for your meal. Not that we had long to wait. Very soon two piping hot baked potatoes were in front of us, cooked just as we like them, with our choice of fillings. For dessert we both chose the lemon Victoria sponge cake – delicious! A light sponge with a generous cream and lemon filling which had just the right balance of sour and sweet. Two more slices were ordered to join the cupcakes. All in all, this had been a thoroughly pleasing experience, the food could not have been better. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. They let us get on with our meal, but were on hand when required. Our teapot was refreshed without prompting and any variations to the menu were happily accommodated. Our only regret was that we had left it so long between visits. As we left with a bag full of cake , we promised ourselves that we will not leave it another six months before we return.

I wouldn't normally do this but after leaving a 3 star rating on fb and then being questioned as to why I didn't give a 5 here are the reasons. You offer a reservation service and don't follow it through. You were extremely rude to my friend when she asked a simple question about were there any cakes in the fridge. You claimed to have given us money off for drinks but actually made no reference to it when we were paying. You at no time apologised for our wait but more so brushed it off as well tough. I wouldn't have done this but actually you gave me no choice. I gave you a 3 on fb and I didn't comment. You insisted that I give you a good reason and when I said your customer service was not great you said that is fine!! Well actually no it isn't fine you made us feel uncomfortable and you clearly feel your establishment should always get a 5 star rating. Get your customer service sorted out and by the way if you reserve a table for someone for a certain time and give that table to someone else it's good manners to say to the people you have it reserved for a certain time so that they are aware! Disgusted you actually thought that acting like a petulant child on fb would make me feel better about my experience at your Cafe!

Today was my third solo visit. On each visit, I have been made to feel welcome and haven't felt daft sitting on my own. On my first visit, I had a cream tea which was served on a tricycle, my second an afternoon tea with open sandwiches, scone and trimmings, crisps, sausage roll and a selection of homemade cakes, today I opted for deluxe afternoon tea with choice of paninis, scone and trimmings, soup and a selection of homemade cakes. I highly recommend any of the above and have noted that everything I have seen come out of the kitchen looks delicious! The tea is leaves, the china is vintage and the decor is so cute. Well worth a visit

I dropped in this morning as I wanted something to do and didn't feel like going far. I'd heard a good things from a friend and I used to be round the corner from me.I ordered the Pink Hot Chocolate (if you're anything like me, then that is enough of a selling point... I mean PINK) and a Cranberry and Brie panini. The service was quick and the staff were lovely. The decoration and lay out is perfectly out of the 40's/ 50's, very floral and colourful and just the pick me up I needed before a busy day.If you're local, it's certainly worth a visit if nothing else just for the fantastic menu.

Warm and welcoming environment is the first awe. It's a tea room taken out of time and it's lovely.I had myself a scone with cream and jam ... that's right I put the cream first I AINT AFRAID then the jam with a pot of tea.Not just any tea but tea leaves with a strainer and the scone was homemade and it was so fluffy and light and heavenly. I treated myself to a slice of cake also ( chocolate chip & vegan forest fruits - very nice) Reasonably priced and great service ... well worth a visit. Small tea room so can get busy which is a sign of a great establishment. I'd book prior because they host private parties which is a greater sign of a well established business. Thank you to Emily and her waitress for my lovely afternoon tea :) I will be returning.I would share photos but I ate everything far to fast.

We chose the deluxe afternoon tea I think it was called. 2 panini's, 2 soups, 2 scones, 2 cakes of our choice of tea or coffee for £10. What amazing value for money. Sat in front of the window and it felt like we were somewhere else. Lovely staff and really good service. Everything came out looking so presentable and edible we didn't leave a crumb! Comfy chairs and the place is lovely and clean. They do a kids menu, so excited to take the little one for afternoon tea she will love it here! Can't wait to come again.

Visited the tea rooms as an belated birthday treat. After going to the old address which is what shows on Google we finally managed to find the correct address in Idle Village through Facebook.Despite the address mix up we arrived on time for our booking of afternoon tea for two. We were both asked to pick two sandwiches each from a range of about 8 kinds. Then whether we wanted a plain or fruit homemade scone and a piece of cake of our choice from the cabinet. There was definitely plenty of choice and the atmosphere was lovely and homely - Vintage tearooms!Would highly recommend and will most likely be returning soon.

Called in for the 3rd time since the relocation to Idle Village. Great food, lovely staff, smashing place. Popped in while driving past at lunch time and was lucky enough to get a table for 2. All other tables either occupied or reserved so its worth booking in advance. This time we only had 2 teas, broccoli soup and a fruit scone - referred to in pic and review title - but previously we have had and enjoyed afternoon teas for 5.Staff are always helpful and its a pleasure to visit Miss Butterfingers. Used to go to Patisserie Valerie or Betty's for a treat but now its Miss Butterfingers, and as its local its likely to be more often.P.S. The place is dog friendly however space is limited so your big dog might be in the way if you are in a central table.

Glad to be able to review again and now I have experienced the picnic bench! After my initial first visit I have visited this tea room about another 7 times with either my sister or various friends. Apart from the jacket potatoes I've tried nearly everything else. All the cakes/cheesecake I've tried have been lovely and I've often bought extra pieces to take home. Back to our visit today I went with 4 friends 3 had the salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and the other a tuna and cheese paninis all served with salad and crisps though you can have a cup of the home made soup of the day instead. I had pre-ordered the picnic bench for which you need to give 24 hours notice. The new Summer bench includes a home made sausage roll, panini pizza and soup of the day which was a cup of home made French onion soup with a heart Crouton, breadsticks with homemade hummus is included as well though I didn't have as not keen on hummus. The sweet things were a chocolate scone with Nutella and cream, a lemon cupcake, and tropical fruit juice in a glass welly plus strawberries in chocolate and marshmallows on a kebab and a strawberry shaped biscuit. I've yet to eat the cupcake and biscuit and brought half the scone home for later. Three of my friends had fruit scones and cream and the other had strawberry cheesecake. All my friends thoroughly enjoyed their time at Emilys lovely tea shop and I'm already booked with a friend from Brighouse to go again on Wednesday.

I'm ashamed to say I have taken so long to try this tea room which is practically on my doorstep! It has been open for eight months and will be moving to Idle village, probably at the end of August so I will be visiting a few more times before the owner relocates. As soon as my friend and I walked in the young lady owner greeted us with a friendly smile and asked us where we would like to sit. We chose to sit in the window in the two comfy chairs which was like sitting in your own front room. Everywhere you look something sweet catches your eye. The little tree in the window with birds and woodland animals hanging from it the lovely tablecloths crockery and plaques. As for the gorgeous wallpaper with little birds all over - how cute. Now we come to the food! There was plenty of choice but my eyes homed straight to the various cream teas of which there were even ones catering for children under 5 and over 5. We both had the cream tea where you could choose 3 different types of sandwich; as my friend does not like cheese and most looked to contain cheese we asked if we could have ham or tuna for example which were under the sandwiches part of the menu and the owner was happy for us to this. We both had ham plus egg mayonnaise my friend had the tuna and I had salmon and cream cheese. We received 6 finger sandwiches each salad and crisps and a lovely big fruit scone plus a piece of lemon cheesecake and a chocolate brownie each. The cream came in a little mini bucket and the jam in a little jar. Lots of nice touches, and we didn't have to ask for extra hot water the lady came to us with a top up. All the cakes are home made. Another party of four came in including a little girl who straight away the owner gave a toy to play with from a basket of toys by the counter. We were very lucky that we got a table easily today but I would advise if you are a party of four or more to book as from memory there's only seating for 15. Thank you for a lovely couple of hours and we will definitely be back.

Well worth a visit. I am going to Bradford again tomorrow. I'll be popping in again.

They were attentive to detail and even boxed up some of the desserts that we couldn't eat at the time, to take home. Would definitely recommend. A lovely tearoom away from the hustle and bustle! :D

Visited this quaint little patisserie for a belated Mother's Day treat. On a cold March day it was a delight to walk into this warm and cosy place. Emily the lovely owner had reserved us a table in the window so we could watch the world go by. The comfy chairs were fab and Emily took our coats and quickly asked us what we would like to drink whilst giving us the menu. I had ordered the picnic table afternoon tea for Mum but I wanted something different and plumped for Emily's homemade carrot and coriander soup. It was totally delicious. The afternoon tea served on the picnic table was clever and innovative and certainly great value for money. The tea was plentiful with fresh hot water on request. Everything was freshly baked by Emily herself and was tasty and presented beautifully. The bill - £18. Incredible value. My Mum couldn't manage to eat everything so Emily happily packaged the things up for her to take home. This place will be moving to bigger premises later in the year in Idle Village and deserves to do well.Give it a try you won't be disappointed

Bought the bacon and Greek sausage at Otley market after sampling on the stall. These are amazing products. I have been trying to find nitrate free sausages for some time. Good food in a relaxed atmosphere above a local pub. He menu changes every month to a new “country”. So far I’ve tried Greek, Mexican and German. They were al excellent. Choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts. The food and the wine list are limited because the place is run by one, very talented, chef. The wines have all been delicious and each month they do a themed cocktail of the month. My wife assured me that these have been great as well. He restaurant opens Thursday to Sunday and I generally book via Facebook (you can phone as well)The food and wine are incredibly good value (£20 for three courses, £12-14 ish for the wine).Well worth seeking out
