A wonderful pub....food amazing and staff very friendly...

Very disappointing. The pub was almost empty, which should have told us something. The table wasn't clean nor were the glasses. The lasagne we ordered bore little resemblance to the Italian classic, grey mince, 1 layer of pasta with cheese topping, no sign of a tomato based sauce for the mince, the side salad was fresh and very nice. No one came to ask if everything was satisfactory. We told the table attendant the meal had been disappointing, she reported our concerns to the manager who didn't have the courtesy to come and speak to us. We paid in full. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this pub for food.

Had a nice meal, ordered mixed grill, they had run out of sausages so they asked if I would like extra gammon which I had but it was very salty, no fried egg? Anyway it was ok just missing sausage, a lamb chop maybe and deffo eggs.

Can't comment on the food but the bar is nice and is run smoothly

Went there to watch F1 Imola GP. Great place to watch sports. They turned the commentary on during the race instead of music which adds to the atmosphere and immersion.

Went for late Sunday lunch, beef seemed like it was slow cooked and not roasted in the oven, to top it off, there was no veg available other than cauliflower! …..unfortunately we only found this out when the meal arrived. If we had been told they had run out of veg when ordering we could have chosen something else. The other meal was a steak and ale pie, tender beef but over cooked! Waitress was not attentive and the welcoming message in the pub was an abrupt ‘have you booked’ despite the pub being quiet! Most of the staff didn't seem that happy to be working there! We were extremely disappointed given the good facebook video and it was not cheap! Certainly would not recommend or go back!

Unfortunately, I didn't get their names but the two guys serving this morning are always lovely - really friendly and polite.

10/10 everything was amazing all staff friendly and really nice,a young lad called finlay was amazing on the bar at souch a young age!!also had a sense of humour with my son aswell

Always great coffee and greats service

Me and my wife came in today. Two full English breakfasts,two teas and two latte's to finish. The breakfasts were the best ones we've had in ages (quality). The two teas and latte's were also spot on. Afterwards we went into the deli and got some of the meat products on sale,they look really lovely. We're looking forward to cooking them and tucking in. Highly recommended.

Loved it! Scrumptious, utterly satisfying bagel - I had the Philly. Super dog friendly of course, with treats & water bowls provided, and no rules for the pups which I love. Decent value, nice, helpful staff, easy going atmosphere. Only thing I wish they did was some free cooked food for the dogs like Wapentake next door, considering it's called the Doghouse. But still, enjoyed it & would definitely return to work my way through the tempting bagel menu :)

This place has tried to report my honest review.... My friend organised my sisters baby shower here... it was stressful from start to finish! Unprofessional and rude manager! Upon agreeing to a booking with an ordinary lunch menu (weeks in advance), my friend received a text the day before the event asking why she hadn't paid a deposit or given any pre orders yet. This was a shock as nothing about a pre order or a deposit was discussed. We had to settle with a "Hot pork buffet" (otherwise there would've been no food at all) and we were not told the price of this. I asked the price once I was there, to which I was told it was £12.95pp, which was a shock and there was no way I'd feel comfortable asking our guests to spend that, especially when some only had chips because it didn't cater to everyone's dietary requirements. Not only that, but ALL the food was cold. We later also cleared away our own plates, cutlery and glasses! We then noticed a large group of people come in, clearly for a separate event... a member of staff came over at 2.50pm and told us we needed to be out by 3pm.... again... this was never said to us upon making a booking! We had to quickly get my sisters cake out whilst the other party stood awkwardly and watched (I actually felt sorry for them). After all this, we were extremely unhappy with the service we received. We went to discuss this with the manager as I was not happy to pay the full amount for food after everything. The manager was so unprofessional and rude to me and my friend, I was actually taken aback!! When I raised some of the issues I was told "well you never asked!!" or "we told you that!" (when they didn't). Please choose elsewhere for your event, we felt lied to and it ruined what was supposed to be a special day. I felt I could have run the place better myself, despite having no experience! We headed to Barco Lounge with our cake as our event was cut short. They were kind enough to give us plates and cutlery for the cake. I would suggest Barco if you're looking to host an event in Selby! We certainly won't be returning to No.1
