Had our engagement party here and absolutely couldn't fault it. Was left to our own devices with decorations and general set up, Tim and Jade were super laid back but happy to help when needed Plenty of options and really good service (even with larger groups) Thank you for allowing us to have such a special evening, highly recommend

Really enjoyed our bottomless brunch! The burgers were yummy, and we each had three delicious cocktails as well as a bottle of prosecco. We were able to stay after our allotted 90 minutes to finish off our prosecco as well. Overall, would highly recommend!

Great spot for local ales and meeting friends

Visited for Bottomless Brunch and had a fabulous time. Service was attentive and speedy. They were very accommodating and we felt very well looked after. We will definitely be back.

Horrible. Poor service from an arrogant man Rubbish food. Served very late. Will not be going back waiter had no understanding or knowledge of food Was hostile and challenging Obviously had had previous issues.

Great find. Group of 10 staying locally and came across this pub. Great service, great food, games for the kids, excellent service and great value. Very happy to recommend to everyone.

Great Bottomless Brunch, staff were amazing and couldn't have been better accommodating.

Absolutely wonderful place. Bottomless brunch fantastic for £35, Full bottle of prossecco each to start with followed by amazing food and cocktails. Opportunity to change food by paying a little extra.Service amazing, great choice, wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will be coming again. Thank you.

Saw this place and in fairness we were a walk in group of 4, so felt very lucky when they agreed to accept us ordering 4 bottomless brunches as we hadn’t booked. The bottles of Prosecco were quite nice and then had 90 mins from the corks popping to eat the burger and chips we ordered however this is were it went very downhill, bar owner wasn’t too friendly and came across as abrupt so we didn’t like to complain when our pornstar martinis arrived and we’re not nice at all, in fact not at all drinkable. We decided maybe this was just a one off drink which hadn’t been mixed right and hoped the next would be better so ordered strawberry daiquiries as a safe choice for a cocktail….. oh dear these were even worse, so bad that one of our party got up and left as he simply saw it as a waste of £35 each but the payment was taken before and drinks arrived. We felt at this point someone had to complain, owner tried telling us he is a mixologist and that city bars like dirty martini, alchemist etc do not do it right and that cocktails shouldn’t have froth on them😂. He looked shocked that we wasn’t happy with the poor quality drinks or the food. ( fries were actually ok) and told us he would refund us and the 4 opened bottles of Prosecco he could reuse later….. that said it all to me, the fact that he was happy to reuse the bottles that we had been pouring from to unsuspecting customers later in the day🤢!!!!!!!!

The food was nice, except the pizzas which were burnt. There were only two staff members on so despite there best efforts the service was poor. The staff were really good just not enough of them.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat here, food was fresh and tasty, I had an omelette with side salad which was perfect, my partner had a burger. The chef was very attentive to our needs, the food took nearly 25 minutes to come out which was a bit of a cause for concern but it got to us eventually! The only thing I did not like about our seating area was the plug in air fresheners, they are too over powering and still don't cover up that 'pub' smell we all know of. Still, its a pub not a restaurant.

O.K. generally poor. Venue has plenty of potential, that includes heating, it was cold. We waited over an hour to be served, granted, there were 9 family, but booked in advance, so the team ( of two) were aware. Food, well, very mediocre at best, my own, small chicken breast over few pieces salad, with dribble of ? We are always of the opinion of supporting local establishments, but return, no no.

Absolutely love the Cresent. Food is great and atmosphere is amazing. Tim and jade are great staff. In here all the time.

Great pub day and night. The staff are all so friendly and couldn't be more accommodating. My partner and I are following a low carb diet and they always smash it when we go for breakfast. Great value for money too. Evenings are busy but never intimidating. Great atmosphere with the added bonus of live music most weekends. Kid friendly with games available to keep them entertained and dog friendly too.

We came for a bottomless brunch and the food was very nice and the drinks were very good.(sore heads tomorrow) Staff were lovely. Chef and manager was very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our day at number 1. Thank you no1 team

Excellent freshly cooked breakfast at a really great price - inclusive of hot drink and toast. Possibly the best quality breakfast in Selby. Service was great too. Very pleasant atmosphere. There is a great offer of local beers and a decent main menu for food other than breakfast. We will return again to try the beers and food.

Came few months ago and their was a younger man serving, was welcomed with a friendly service and really enjoyed. However visited yesterday and was far from first experience. Service slow, rude older male. mistakes happen due to lack of training and understanding but it shouldn’t then be passed on to the customer. Didn’t stay longer than 1 drink.

Went for breakfast can't complain in any way fried bread, Black pudding even a free ground coffee. This place just gets better. But we where the only two in

It was our first time in and we both really loved it. It had a really nice feel about it, even though it was quite quiet, as we'd gone in early. It felt clean, fresh, bright and airy and the swing seats were fab!

We have been quite a few times for drinks and have always enjoyed the ambience and music.When we heard good reviews about food we decided to give it a go. We visited last Saturday for breakfast and both had the full breakfast ..it was cooked perfectly,great portions and excellent value for money.The staff were friendly and the service was also very good. I hope more people try this great place out. We will definitely be back ..and great that they are also dog friendly 😃 Thanks for a lovely breakfast guys !

13 of us went for the Bottomless Brunch, food all came out on time and was lovely,good portions for a bottomless brunch menu. Staff were friendly and kept all of us topped up with drinks throughout. We all had a great afternoon, would definitely recommend and will be returning again.

Bar man little abrupt but otherwise everything was fine. Brought drinks to our table and Pizza was delicious.

Called in for food after reading the reviews, lovely place, menu looked great went to order, was told no food as they were preparing for a buffet, maybe take the bloody menu's off the tables then, had a very average glass of Malbec for £6.30, never again 👎👎👎

We come here every Thursday for Boardgaming, but even when not playing anything it’s still a first-choice for place to go out in Selby. Lovely local ales, friendly staff, and a nice little sun-trap beer garden.

Second visit to Selby and came back to No1 on Sunday. This place really is unusual for a pub it smells nice looms really unusual, the staff are friendly but it was still very quiet. But the food. I had the philly steak burger this time . Okay the chips where stacked thick things and not many buy the Burger was amazing with melted Blue Stilton on strips of steak, onions and mushrooms Cocktails on offer were amazing and probably was the best Strawberrry Daquairi I've ever had. Posters said they had lots of music on a Friday so I've decided might need to try this rather than stay in York .

Rude manager refused to honour the 2 for 1 cocktail offer which was advertised on our table, said it was a mistake, when we queried it he said he was removing all offers and refused to serve us - us being 7 lady pensioners having an afternoon drink for a birthday!! We left the bar, and as we were the only customers he lost his only business of the afternoon.

The manager behaved in a very unhelpful manner. We had already bought several gin&tonics. We were happy to see the offer that was advertised on our table.. 2cocktails for the price of 1. But when we ordered our cocktails, the manager said he had taken that offer away. No explanation, just a very rude man to 7 Ladies all over their age of 60 . No respect.

New owners are lovely, we went for lunch Saturday 22/4 we both had the club sandwich and the food was really nice.

The old man behind the bar is extremely rude. We were deciding what to drink and he was rolling his eyes at us. Repeatedly asking, what are you drinking. Very poor service from him.

New people have taken this lovely place over and wow you can tell the difference. Everyone was smiling behind the bar and it's was busy. Food was awesome a proper steak and the Beer was lovely. It even smelt clean. Which was different to the last time we went in.

This a unique bar that if position more centrally would surely be a place to go the decor is fantastic and just being able to view the quirky seats (which include swings) is great, definitely needs to visited if in Selby

Great food Great service and at a good price

Went in with a very open mind. No customers in there. Thought it might be a little gem. It isn't. Didn't even get as far as being given a menu. There seemed to be two females milling about. One said 'take a seat and she'll bring you a menu when she's off the phone' Not instilled with confidence on the customer care front at this point. Apparently incapable of giving us a menu herself. We took a seat. No one appeared. Three people came in while we were waiting and were attended to. Nothing doing. We just left. Bothered? I doubt they noticed.

Great pub. For those of us that remember the Albion its change its appearance drastically but not in a bad way. Always a good pint.

Been a few times for drinks recently but this is the first time we have tried the new menu. The food and drinks were lovely! The staff are amazing and friendly and cannot do enough, will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Visited lunch time 14th december with 4 family ,not busy drinks served and food on time. Enjoyed, our food was lovely , sat and enjoyed being there, loved rustic decor, lovely clean toilets .Well worth a visit ,reasonably priced, recommend Zinfandel if you are a wine drinker but many drinks choices.

Visited 14th December with family 4 of us , we all chose the same menu because we were hungry. This was lunch time about 1 - 130 not busy ,chose a lovely 4 seating area, lovely rustic decor and surroundings. Ordered drinks when they came our order was taken. Didn't wait too long and our meal arrived 😋 was delicious. Plenty of condiments and sauces provided. More drinks and long chats . Bill arrived and thought was very reasonable, generous tip was left and was tried to give back by staff, we obviously declined , we had a great afternoon and lovely meal and drink. By the way the Zinfandel was highly recommended if you are a wine drinker.

Went there this weekend with a group of friends and had a fabulous evening. Chris and the team were very friendly and welcoming. Excited to see what they do with the place! Highly recommend the Styrian Wolf ale!

Pros - nice beers cons - have to agree with other reviews here unfortunately and say service was really poor. rude. unwelcoming can see why other pubs in selby are doing quite well but this place is struggling with custom unfortunately.
