Busy pub on a Friday afternoon, but good service for drinks

No food but it's a great venue for music, sport, karaoke and just having a laugh with friends.

Good company and drinking good.

Good selection of well kept beers at great prices, fantastic atmosphere especially on a Saturday night.

Spent the night here, warm comfortable room very quiet. Lovely evening meal and breakfast was huge. Felt very welcoming from all the staff, free parking 😀 would definitely stay here again.

This was a busy, friendly pub in Selby. It is a lovely traditional pub that benefits from the cheaper prices that craft union offer. Not a lot more to add to be honest, I would be happy to revisit and happy to recommend!!

Me and my other half popped in to pass some time waiting for our house purchase to be completed. The guy behind the bar was lovely and very down to earth. We didn't order food, just drinks.

New owners are rude, they’ve ruined what used to be my local. Due to their own issues they are abrupt with customers including myself and make it an unpleasant environment. I have never once done anything within the establishment to warrant this kind of behaviour and I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve been in to the premises since the previous manager left over a year ago. If you want pleasant bar staff and a pint in a pub with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere then I would avoid the griffin

Very welcoming pub with good range of beers etc. Staff were very efficient and engaging. Probably very busy of an evening and has security staff on hand. Prices are very reasonable too.

It's okay, just an average pub. Not the best pint, not the worst either though by a long stretch.

A bit low rent for me, bad decor and toilets smell unclean, drinks you can get anywhere and regulars get served first. The staff are nice and do good work but they need the job? Music is good when the dj is on.

Looked and smelled like it had just had a bit of a paint refurb. Bar staff friendly, and we were served nice and quickly. Would go there again for sure.

Brilliant customer service was absolutely outstanding my wife had a gin and tonic I wanted a coffee because I was driving anyway they don't normally do coffee but they boiled the kettle and made me one really appreciate that .

The griffin staff were absolutely amazing. This is the first time I’d been for a drink in selby since I’ve moved here and I’ve never felt so welcome in a pub. Thomas was a star, he remembered our drinks when we came in and gave us the best experience we could have had. There was a group of 6 of us and he made sure we all had a laugh and got involved with each and every one of us. Will definitely be drinking again, is 100% worth the 5 star reviews this pub gets! Kaylie was also lovely, she made sure we were all okay and showed us around the bar and to where the best seats were watch the game.

Love coming here, all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. It's pleasing to know when heading to the Griffin that you're going to be looked after

Good local pub, lots of seating space, does get very busy on a weekend I would leave belongs unattended at any time, I had my coat stolen within 5 mins

At the Griffin there is GREAT staff, always nice to talk to. When served you will get served very quickly, always showing football and never fails to get a good atmosphere if important games (especially when its international). If no sports are on etc it is the perfect place to just come and just chill with friends or family. Great prices on drinks compared to other places and have some good deals 😉

Me and my uncle come to selby from York very often and this pub is never missed off our list, good solid pub with well trained staff good real folk and always a pleasure! We will be back time and time again👍👍👌

Worked here many moons ago… came back in tonight with my daughter and was welcomed back like I never left! Always the place to be when in Selby 😊

Worked here for 4 years.. now I can’t brag about the beer or prices because I’d be bias. but I will make mention about the manager. It’s not everyday you get a person who’s heart has remained in a pub. He goes the extra mile to make sure the customers are happy. This is why the Griffin is the pub it is, it’s not just a pub or a work place it’s a pub that has one big family with the customers at the heart of it.

What a great pub i have found in selby,on monday and tuesday selected beer's are only £1.99 and they have a meat raffle plus they run their own lottery.

Went to the Griffin today and the bar staff are friendly and approachable especially the sheriff great pint highly recommended

Does many different Lagers both on Tap and bottled . Has Pool Tables if you are fancying a game or two but it's main strength is the amount of TVs covering all your sports requirements .
