Never before have I seen such a large selection of plants and flowers and gardening equipment. Well worth a visit with a restaurant/cafe as well.

Lovely garden centre on the A19 near Whitley. Plenty of gardening supplies at reasonable prices. They also a have a very nice cafe.

Friendly, efficient service. Coffee was a bit bitter in my opinion but that's just my taste. A lovely bacon sandwich.

Went for breakfast. Terrible. Scrambled eggs well one egg running in butter. Cold beans half cooked sausage. Breakfast 2 cold mushrooms shrivelled and old. Not worth the money too expensive for what you actually get. Quiet came straight away cold. I moved 2 dirty spoons from cutlery station. All looked like they needed a treat in a dishwasher. Left and won't return.

A bit Dearer than some other local centres..

So we decided to god for breakfast as it was the only place around that would take card as short notice, ended up paying over £50 for microwave packet pancakes (2 minutes after being served my son said they were hurting his teeth and when I felt them I could stab the pancakes and the knife wasn't going through), 3 "small" breakfasts, 1 sausage sandwich and 3 drinks 3 of us got eggs and 3 different types of eggs came out with white snotty bits on, 1 was cooked (runny) and 1 was over cooked. 3 large breakfasts (there large breakfast is what most places will call a small) Most expensive and underwhelming breakfast I've ever had

Just called at garden centre had beautiful coffee and cake in restaurant very nice helpful staff, sadly the same cannot be said for the person on the plant counter !! Had all on to say Hello, Please or Thankyou to my elderly mother!. Visited again today the person at the Garden Centre cash desk had all on to be civil !!!

We've been to the garden centre many times, and it's a superb place to visit. The garden centre itself has a massive range of flowers, shrubs and plants on offer, all backed up by knowledgeable experts. The cafe is magnificent. The food is top notch, and the portion sizes are too. Wether you're just having a bacon sandwich or a full on meal, it will be very good indeed. The Pork Stroganoff is ace. The whole place is run by super staff, nothing is too much trouble for them. Brilliant customer service. We've brought many friends here, and we will be bringing our car club here, too Absolute 5 stars all the time. Superb.👍.

Visited Crown Garden Centre today after moving in locally to this fabulous place. Staff and very helpful and the range of plants, accessories are amazing. The store is very well laid out and there’s a cafe on site which I have yet to visit. We bought a bird table and the staff kindly dismantled it for me so I could transport it home. It’s now my one stop shop for ALL gardening products! Huge well done and thank you. Customer service: 10/10 Store layout: 10/10 Pricing: 10/10 Parking: 10/10

SCONES ARE Absolutely gorgeous, can't understand the review that says they are not. We call as often as we can for Lunch and ALLWAYS take a couple of scones home. The cafe as a great fair priced menu is fine and TAISTY. Good cheap plants as well. WELL WORTH A VISIT.

Sat in the Crown Garden Centre with a coffee and my best friend . .. we were looking forward to a scone on arrival however, they were all burnt and looked more like rock cakes … We then decided to order a toasted tea cake only to be told we were five minutes over the cut off point for serving them … not only that, the lady that served us was so rude …. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, for a local business to refuse there customers of something so small is beyond me . We have now been approached by management and told that everything has been cleaned down in the back ready for lunches .. hello!! It a toasted tea cake In a toaster .. !!! Having had my own business and owned a cafe of my own we would always have gone above and beyond for our customers . WELL NOT HERE, WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT WE BROADCAST THIS TOO .. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL .. DISGUSTING !!!!

Some very nice plant's, a nice selection of different varieties to chose from, only downside was that all the plants we looked at and checked where desperately in need of water, so some where very close to dying. Plenty of staff wandering around of you needed help a plus. Helpful and friendly also which was nice, I would say that Crown Garden centre is definitely worth a visit if your after variety because it's definitely here. Thank you

Lovely staff, very helpful. There is a good choice of food, and service in the cafe was quick. The prices are reasonable, and you get value for money. Would not hesitate to eat here again.

Very disappointed with the food,the beef was very thick,hard to get a knife through it,2 Very small roast potatoes which were frozen ones,ordered a large which it wasn't,wouldn't go again

Arrived at 11.35am when breakfast ends at 11.30am... the cook gave the thumbs up and so I thought get in there as I was starving... sadly it all went went downhill from there... They have a big breakfast which consists of 7 items (eg 2 sausages 2 bacon) - I only wanted 4 of them...oh dear.... computer says no... had to have my 4 items entered individually... final price was the same as a big breakfast.... maybe it's me !! maybe I am not wired up right... how on earth can you pay the same for less ?? its bonkers... I should have walked away.... sadly I just let out the Yorkshire War Cry "How Much"... paid and sat down... It crossed my mind that if my 4 items were good then so be it... sadly the bacon was dry and clearly past its best.... my toast arrived 5 minutes after my breakfast and all in all it was not VFM at all...I ended up leaving my last 2 pieces of toast as they were cremated...nothing wrong with the people.... its all about the business model....

Visited to celebrate the wife's aunt's 90 th birthday in the restaurant. Had a fabulous carvery for our Sunday lunch. The staff were wonderful and accomadating.

Always a pleasure visiting this garden centre and cafe, great service, happy and helpful. Lovely food choices, home made scones are a favourite especially the cherry scones

We were wanting to visit an alternative garden centre from our local area . I had passed this business many times whilst travelling along the A19 to Selby so chose it . Its soon passed by so slow a little after passing to or through Askern village north of Doncaster . There is plenty of parking along with what is more than a café . There is a vast range of indoor / out door plants at a reasonable price . I have other garden centres close to my home that are more expensive . I appreciate that business costs have increased and these will be reflected by the cost of produce / service but this place have balanced it nicely rather than whacking the price up on everything . I noticed the café serve Sunday lunch etc with a smaller portion option . We only had a cup of tea here but the portions others ordered would have filled me for the day so all good value for your money spent . I bought three plants for my garden , they are all healthy and budding so looking forward to them blooming . I will be back again and probably have their Sunday dinner !

Paid for afternoon tea for two for my mother-in-law and her friend they couldn’t praise the food and staff enough thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon would highly recommend.

Just been for afternoon tea with my husband, and it was delicious. The sandwiches had generous fillings, the mini cake selection was tasty and the scones looked fresh. (We’ve brought those home to have later as we were too full to eat them there). The thing we both thought was very good was that at the time of booking, we could choose the type of fillings we wanted on our sandwiches, choose the kind of bread we preferred and also whether we wanted to have a mini cake selection or one piece of normal size cake of our choice. There are also gluten free options for those requiring them. We will happily recommend this afternoon tea to our friends and family. The staff were very friendly and obliging.

Amazing salad brunch. staff friendly and helpful, so much we boxed our left overs for teatime, it was the gift that kept on giving. five stars all the way rain or shine their all we need:)

Always met by friendly staff, came up for afternoon tea ( you do need to give 24 hours notice) what a lovely tea it was food fresh and full of flavour had to bring the scones home as we were full ,great service and super friendly staff thank you ladies x

Previously quite good,but today ,had to wait due to demand for breakfast.Thoughtdue to high demand breakfast would be freshly cooked, but not,deep fried sausage and bacon hard , cold , cold plates.Not a good experience.What a shame £20 wasted, Should have cooked my own.

Visited the cafe yesterday with my daughter I must say that the carrot cake was the best I have ever tasted. I am sorry now that I didn’t take a photograph. I would definitely recommend this place.

We have just had a lovely lunch at the cafe good atmosphere staff very friendly and knowledgeable as l am Coeliac and require gluten free l felt reassured of the extra effort that went into my meal. They also have a good selection of GF cakes and Scones of which are very nice we will definitely be returning

I visit this cafe at least once a week and it really is fantastic. Staff are brilliant and the food is good, especially the coffee and cake. Last Sunday they catered for a group of 40 people with no fuss. Brilliant.

I recently came in for hot food, desserts and coffee with my partner and children. The front of house staff were so friendly, thoughtful and efficient and went out of their way to make our experience special. The food was hot and tasted good, and the selection of cakes and desserts was great. We would come back for the customer service alone, it really stands out from other places. Well done, keep it up :)

Great little garden centre... called in on a Saturday afternoon was quite... The coffee shop was absolutely beaut...

Called in today for a plant as it was lunchtime we visited the cafe. Ordered a panini with halloumi cheese and chilli peppers. I could not believe it when it arrived as it had not been cooked. I also asked for cream with my americano coffee and was charged fifty pence extra. The table tops were so sticky the knives and forks actually stuck to the table. I don’t know how they got 5 for hygiene. Definitely will not be going back a place to be avoided.

Excellent selection of plant's, I personally collect Cacti the plant's available for sale were very reasonably priced unlike some garden centres who charge unrealistic prices.

we have been regular customers for several years of the garden centre and cafe. Just lately scones have been served up stale. I complained to the assistant and was informed "it could be yesterdays". scones are £2,25 each so I expect fresh baked every day. Sell your stale ones off at cost price by all means But I am very keen to eat fresh food. also speaking for others ,"we expect fresh bakes. not sure if the manager has told the hard working staff to dish up inferior food?

We come here quite a lot for plants and stuff for the garden. We do from time to time have something to eat from the café. Went last weekend and had a lovely breakfast. The staff in the café and in the garden centre are all lovely. Some of the 1star reviews I find a little unfair, the service can be a little slow but if you go as soon as the lunch menu begins you will have to wait a little longer because that's their busy time. Overall very nice. Only thing I'd say is it's not easy getting a table and ordering food if you are on your own.

Looked lovely but didn't have push trolleys, (like supermarket one) so was uncomfortable walking with stick and trying to hold a basket, couldn't look properly, so was disappointed and probably wouldn't go back, but would have liked too .

Really disappointed, called for lunch at just turned 2 o'clock, ordered 2 panninis and a bowl of chips.. 30 minutes later still not arrived...won't be rushing back..

Can get what I need here eg pond plants, which other garden centres only have mid summer.

My sister and I have just called at tea time today 17/02/22 and I was looking for a gift, I spotted a candle holder with yellow flowers embedded in it with a tea light in it it was nice but as I picked it up it was filthy and the tea light all dented. I then dropped my glasses on the floor and as I picked them up they were covered in dust , there was loads of it all over the floor and it wasn't just a little The more we looked round everything was filthy and this unit was right next to the Cafe so even though we've eaten there before we shan't go there again I went to the tills and actually asked if the candles came in a box as the ones out were terrible and I told her how filthy everything was and she said its because the outer door gets opened a lot. This fixture was no where near any door Do they think because people don't have to wear masks etc that standards have to drop that much We won't go near this place again, there are far better nurseries to go to

Been here for lunch or breakfast many times over the years but on our last two visits we were very disappointed with the food , even the scones no longer have fresh whipped cream to go on them , the food here was really very good in the past but it must have changed hands we will not be going again ! service is rubbish also !

I have been going to crown garden centre and nursery for last 3 years. Every tree shrub plant as come from them trees shrubs they delivered. Everything in my gardens they supplied. I recommend this place to everybody. This week Monday I purchased plants Xmas wreaths and two sets of fairy lights , when I got them home one was faulty. Because they were low value. I mislaid the purchase receipt. Each item cost £7.99. I returned one set to them This Wednesday to exchange this faulty product. It all changed when I arrived. 18 miles round trip. They treated me complete suspicions that I was trying to pull the wool over them. Treating me like criminal intentions were in play it I was out to fraud them out £7.99 It over 30 minutes for to exchange the faulty lights. If this is how loyal customers are treated. They need to retrain customer facing staff. I have given one star because I was unable To score less. A very disappointed loyal customer E Barker

We had been regulars in the cafe pre pandemic but felt the initial offering upon their reopening to be not good enough. More recently we have revisited and are pleased to post that the staff are pleasant and helpful, the food we have had is good quality and good value. We are pleased to say we shall be returning.

We have been regular visitors for a number of years, buying plants, compost, and having lunch in the excellent cafe. However on Sunday we were disappointed to find the cafe changed from a wide menu of nicely cooked and presented food to a range limited to Sunday lunch with no stuffing and tired vegetables or cakes. They couldn't even find any mustard! The plants were excellent as usual, but come on Crown, get your cafe back to its former glory.
